Seymour Nursery Pace Series 24 CONDITIONS 1 ELIGIBILITY OF HORSES 1.1

The Seymour Nursery Pace Series is open to all registered standardbred 2YO pacers foaled in the 2011/12 season, covering the 2013/14 2YO Series and the 2014/15 3YO Series which have been nominated by their owner, trainer or authorised agent by payment of the required nomination fee.

1.2

Those who pay the one off nomination fee of $385 (GST Inclusive) are automatically eligible for the 2014/15 3YO Series at no further cost.

1.3

Eligibility of horses shall automatically lapse on the non-receipt of the relevant payment by the due date.

2 CURRENCY 2.1

All money values listed in these conditions are expressed in Australian dollars ($AUD).

3 NOMINATIONS 3.1

Lodging Nominations

3.1.1 To be eligible to contest the Series a horse must be nominated by Saturday 26 October 2013 and is subject to the payment of the $385 (GST Inclusive) nomination fee.

3.2

The nomination fee of $385 (GST Inclusive) is a one off fee and no further sustaining payments apply. The fee entitles the horse to be eligible for both the 2YO Series in 2014 and the 3YO Series to be held in 2015.

3.3

A nomination must be submitted on a nomination form and signed by the owner, trainer or authorised agent and lodged by mail, email, facsimile or delivered by hand to the Deagon office of Racing Queensland (RQ). Nominations may be accepted by phone, however lodgement of the relevant form and payment of the nomination fee must be forwarded by the due date. Nomination fees and late nomination fees are non refundable except in the event a decision is taken to abandon the Series for whatever reason, in which case all fees will be refunded less any administration or promotional charges at the discretion of RQ.

3.5

Late Nominations

3.5.1

All late nominations will be subject to the applicable $11,000 (GST Inclusive) late nomination fee. The deadline for the inclusion of any late nominations is 3pm Thursday 20 March 2014. The nomination of any horse after this deadline will not be accepted for the Nursery Pace Series

3.6 Agreement

3.6.1

All horses nominated for and/or starting in the Series and their owners/trainers/ drivers in addition to being bound by the Australian Rules of Harness Racing and any RQ related policy shall be deemed to be bound by the conditions of the Series and any decision made therein.

4.2

A Trophy and Rug will be presented to the winning connections of each Final.

4.3

A $5,000 Bonus payment will be paid to the first QBred eligible horse past the post in each of the four Finals. To be eligible to receive this bonus payment, the horse must be paid up for the QBred scheme.

THE Seymour Nursery Pace Series

5.1

The Seymour Nursery Pace Series will comprise Qualifying Heats and a Final for each sex.

5.2

All horses nominated are guaranteed a start in the Qualifying Heats. • 2YO Qualifying Heats (Fillies) Monday, 12 May 2014 at Albion Park • 2YO Qualifying Heats (C & G) Monday, 12 May 2014 at Albion Park • 2YO Final (Fillies) Saturday, 17 May 2014 at Albion Park • 2YO Final (C & G) Saturday, 17 May 2014 at Albion Park

THE 3YO Seymour Nursery Pace Series

6.1

The 3YO Series of the Nursery Pace will be conducted in May 2015 (Dates to be advised)

6.2

Only horses who have been nominated by their owners, trainers or authorised agents by Saturday 26 October 2013 or by the late nomination deadline of Thursday 20 March 2014 and paid the required nomination fee shall be eligible for the 3YO Series.

7 RACE DISTANCES AND MODE OF START 7.1

2YO Qualifying Heats and Finals will be run over the following: • 2YO Qualifying Heats 2138 metres Mobile Start • 2YO Finals 2138 metres Mobile Start

7.2

3YO Qualifying Heats and Finals will be run over the following: • 3YO Qualifying Heats 2138 metres Mobile Start • 3YO Finals 2138 metres Mobile Start Note: Seven horses are drawn on the front row for all mobile barrier starts

FIELD SIZES

8.1 8.2 8.3 8.4

All 2YO Qualifying Heats will consist of a maximum of 10 starters. All 3YO Qualifying Heats will consist of a maximum of 12 starters. The 2YO Final will consist of 10 starters plus 1 emergency. The 3YO Final will consist of 12 starters plus 1 emergency.

8.5

The composition of the Final shall be comprised of the maximum number of approved runners at the time of conduct of the Series based on the following conditions: 8.5.1 Heat winners in fastest individual time order 8.5.2 If required, second placegetters in fastest individual time order 8.5.3 If required, the balance of the field to be made up of horses by their finishing order in the heats and individual times.

BARRIER DRAWS

9.1

All races in the Series (Heats & Finals) will have a Random Barrier Draw (RBD).

9.2

A horse declared ‘Out of the Draw’ in Mobile starts (ODM) will be excluded from the barrier draw. If more than one ODM horse is in a race, a random draw will be used to determine their respective barrier positions.

9.3

A horse declared ‘Right Out of the Draw’ in Mobile starts (RODM) will be excluded from the barrier draw and allocated a barrier outside any ODM horses in the race. If more than one RODM horse is in a race, a random draw will be used to determine their respective barrier positions.

9.4

The barrier draws for the 2YO Heats shall be conducted on Wednesday 7 May 2014.

9.5

The barrier draws for the 2YO Finals shall be conducted on Tuesday 13 May 2014.

10

HANDICAPPING PENALTIES

10.1

Winners throughout the Seymour Nursery Pace Series races will incur handicapping penalties in accordance with the Australian Handicapping Rules.

11 CONDITIONS 11.1

Only horses which have been paid up for the Series by Saturday 26 October 2013, or those which have paid the required late nomination fee by 3pm Thursday 20 March 2014, will be eligible to accept for the Heats.

11.2

All horses that pay the prescribed Series Nomination fee and wish to nominate for the 2YO Heats of the Nursery Pace, must nominate for the heats by the nomination deadline (10am Wednesday 7 May 2014). All Heat nominators are automatic acceptors, if eligible, to contest the Heats and if qualified for the Final.

11.3

Acceptances close for the 2YO Heats by 10.00am (QLD time) Wednesday 7 May 2014.

11.4

Normal scratching penalties, consistent with RQ policy, apply to horses scratched after acceptance time for the Series.

11.5

RQ shall have the utmost power to deal with any matter arising which is not specifically covered in these conditions. Any decision by RQ shall be final and binding on all parties.
