QGreys Breeders Incentive Scheme 2014


The purpose of the QGreys Breeder Incentive Scheme • Support and promote on a national basis the Queensland greyhound breeding industry • P ay or otherwise provide incentives or bonuses for Queensland bred greyhounds racing in Queensland which qualify under the scheme • P ay or otherwise provide incentives to breeders and owners of Queensland bred greyhounds which qualify under the scheme

Nominations for registration: Any greyhound nominated for registration under the Scheme must: • Be whelped in Queensland, irrespective of the location of the sire and dam or where the actual service took place. • Be nominated for registration under the Scheme by the Breeder or the Owner (but not both). Be nominated under the Scheme by 4:30pm on the last calendar day of the month in which the greyhound reaches nine/twelve months of age. • Upon a litter registration being processed with RQ (3 months of age), greyhounds can then be nominated for the RQ breeder’s incentive scheme. A nomination fee shall be payable by the Nominator at the time the nomination is lodged with RQ. A nomination shall not be registered unless and until the fee is paid. The fee is payable only once in respect of a greyhound. • Under 9 months - $40 per greyhound + GST • Over 9 months but less than 12 months - $140 per greyhound + GST

Eligibility for Breeding Scheme Greyhound whelped on or after October 1, 2012 will be eligible for the RQ breeder’s incentive scheme.

Breeding Scheme Bonuses • B reeder’s bonuses are paid to the owners and breeders of all Queensland bred greyhounds winning programmed City Class events for the full duration of their racing career. • A ll Queensland bred greyhounds winning a Maiden event are eligible for a significant initial bonus for winning their first ever race. • A ll Queensland bred greyhounds winning a Novice event are also eligible for a significant initial bonus. • A ll Queensland bred greyhounds winning programmed graded events on all tracks other than Class 1 meetings are also eligible for a breeder’s bonus for the duration of their career. • A ll Queensland bred greyhounds winning programmed non-group event finals on all classes of track are also eligible for a breeder’s bonus for the duration of their career. • I n the event of a dead heat in any race carrying a breeding bonus in which more than one greyhound is eligible, a breeding bonus will be paid in full to each successful owner/breeder.
