DELIVERING CONFIDENCE AND CERTAINTY IN THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS 2022 is on track to be one of our most successful years ever, in this issue we have lots of positive news to share. The EOS team are celebrating after reaching the finals of no less than three prestigious construction industry awards with a total of 10 nominations. We are very proud that the collaborative expertise of EOS and our Etex Group partners, Siniat, Promat and FSi have been acknowledged by such eminent judging panels. Our safety-first systems approach is not only receiving recognition from some of the most high-profile industry awards but following a rigorous assessment, we are now delighted to announce that EOS has gained Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) Accreditation. We take our responsibilities as a manufacturer extremely seriously. Our light steel frame systems are meticulously tested, manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards and are now backed by BOPAS Accreditation. Our aim is to deliver confidence and certainty in the construction process and empower specifiers to be technical forerunners in the offsite sector. These achievements have only been made possible by our dedicated team who share our vision and values. My thanks and appreciation go to all those involved!

MEET THE EOS TEAM AT OFFSITE EXPO Taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 20 and 21 September 2022 – Offsite Expo will welcome more than 4,000 visitors, host over 130 exhibition stands and present 100 speakers. The EOS team will be out in force with a high-profile presence at the event showcasing a revolutionary two-storey feature build e-house and presenting in the CPD Accredited masterclass forum. To be launched at Offsite Expo, e-house showcases our new service offering which will be available next year. Constructed from our ground-breaking Thrubuild® system, e-house is the ultimate in advanced offsite construction methods delivering outstanding pre-manufactured added value. With various cladding, window and door options, the e-house on show at Offsite Expo uses Thrubuild® to its maximum effect with factory fitted brick slip cladding to the ground floor and above, Cedral weatherboard cladding developed by one of our Etex Group partners which realises stunning exteriors with a long-life expectancy. Delivering advanced offsite added benefits – doors and windows can now also be factory fitted with the objective of installing the structure on site for an entire house complete with cladding, doors and windows in just a matter of days. Areas of the e-house at Offsite Expo will be left exposed to reveal the light steel frame structural systems, other parts will just have external boarding installed with the internal build-up visible and the remainder will be complete. This presents the ideal opportunity for housing developers, architects, engineers and specifiers to get down to the detail and discover how this advanced systems approach can deliver residential projects in record time whilst enhancing build quality and performance values.

COMPLETE AND COMPLIANT SYSTEMS
It’s official –and ourCompliant systems Systems Complete are now BOPAS Accredited!
THRUWALL THRUBUILD
PRE-ASSEMBLED FRAMES
EOS is taking the construction industry forward by pioneering a certified systems approach, helping specifiers to comply and compete in challenging markets.
Backed by rigorous testing and now BOPAS Accreditation, our Pre-Assembled Frames (PAF), Thrubuild® and Thruwall® systems get the safety and building performance balance right through the combination of light steel framing, external sheathing, internal wall linings and glass mineral wool insulation. Only tested configurations are available and following a validation process, Etex award a 30-year product and performance warranty. BOPAS Accreditation is recognised by principal mortgage lenders as providing the necessary assurance underpinned by a warranty provision that residential properties will be readily mortgageable for at least 60 years. BOPAS provides assurances that our light steel systems are fit for purpose and eliminate the uncertainty surrounding the construction for valuation purposes. Importantly BOPAS demonstrates to funders, lenders, valuers and purchasers that homes built from non-traditional methods of construction will be durable, delivered to high quality standards and stand the test of time.

COMPANY NEWS It’s Official – EOS are in the Finals! We are extremely privileged to work on some ground-breaking projects that clearly resonate with judging panels and our recent product innovations are also receiving great acclaim.
CONSTRUCTION NEWS SPECIALISTS AWARDS With two nominations shortlisted in the Envelope Specialist of the Year category, members of the EOS team headed to London in July to present to the awards judging panel. Under the banner of ‘Taking a Safety-First Systems Approach to Building Envelopes’ – our collective entry for our Thrubuild®, Thruwall® and Pre-Assembled Frames (PAF) join three other high-profile finalists. Our second submission to reach the finals – ‘Pre-Assembled Frames Eliminating Risk in External Envelopes’ – focuses on our latest ground-breaking non-loadbearing infill solution. The awards will be announced on 22 September at The Brewery, London.
BRITISH CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AWARDS It is a total privilege to be nominated for the Industry Innovation Champion for our commitment to technical excellence and the approach we have taken to building safety and performance. Regulations typically deal with individual products and how they perform in tests - we believe material providers should have full-scale testing regimes. Through detailed testing of the entire system, we can accurately achieve precise performance delivering improvements in long-term safety, quality and in-use operation. We will be off to London again in September to present to the judging panel and the awards will take place at the Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on 12 October.

SKY HOUSE – contemporary design delivered through an advanced Thrubuild® approach
ASSURED PERFORMANCE By considering and rigorously testing all components together as a complete system, Thrubuild® can be relied on to offer excellent fire, acoustic and thermal capabilities to meet the needs of the Sky House Construction team.
PARTNERSHIP APPROACH Engineers from EOS worked with CODA’s architectural team to rationalise their design by adjusting walls and loading path lines through the building, optimising the cold rolled steel Thrubuild® solution and value engineering out various hot rolled steel elements. Reducing costs and construction carbon emissions. EOS Framing’s steel is made from 59% recycled content and is 100% recyclable. Manufactured from the most abundant component on earth, steel can be recycled or reused endlessly without detriment to its properties. Offering the best strength-to-weight ratio our Thrubuild® system improves efficiencies. Lighter structures not only reduce material consumption but also concrete in the ground.
Using an offsite system approach achieved predictability of costs and enhanced the construction programme – shaving months from the build schedule when compared to traditional construction methods. Sky House Construction were therefore able to reduce financing costs and shorten the period of construction liability for Waverley Phase 02. Contemporary thinking runs right throughout this project – with increasing build quality, the safety and wellbeing of occupants being central to every design and specification decision. Creating bright, airy and spacious accommodation, Sky Houses set the standard for 21st Century living.
