Yes, I see dead comedians, and these experiences have provided an incredible healing journey for myself that enables me to help other comedians find their own light and follow it to their perfect destiny.

When comedians come to me for channeled guidance from the comedy masters, they’re usually burdened with the old story that to perform well, they need to have an edge or a rage; that substance use, emotional imbalance, and an inability to “fit in” are requirements to be funny.

even more profound. Would you dare doubt a Robin Williams with angel wings on this subject? Neither would I. Following the loss of Bernie Mac and Robin Williams, for whom mental issues loomed large, I felt a sense of urgency to honor them and myself by shining a light in the dark corners of the entertainment industry to elevate the conversation, and, of course, the comedy material. In fact, I called out for a new mission for myself: to use my platform as a performer to change the story to one of joyful creativity. To end the culture of destruction and bring healing to the world through comedy.

So, a new healing modality evolved: Class Clowns.

As a spiritual person who is also a comedian, I reThrough focused group classes, students explore and create communication that is raw, vulnerable, and sometimes challenging, but that uplifts and shifts daily frustra-

tions into humorous realizations, which liberates discomfort around the experience being discussed. Rather than tear down, comedy creates a shift in perspective which helps us overcome our fear of abandonment or confrontation, for instance. It’s a transparent, non-toxic engagement with a new genre of comedy that heals the

performer and the audience, which is so needed today.

With over a decade of teaching stand-up comedy to disempowered groups, kids, adults, CEOs, military veterans, health care workers, community organizations, creative networking groups, and individuals experiencing emotional or spiritual blocks, I’ve seen with my own eyes, people from different backgrounds and belief systems come together in ways they couldn’t have predicted. And the harmful culture of dis-ease that has driven brilliant performers to burn out early and sometimes perish will no longer deny the world their special energy and message.
