dark corners of the entertainment industry to elevate the

A
s a spiritual person who is also a comedian, I re-
alized what an incredible gift it was the day Robin
Williams gave me guidance and advice for my next standup comedy performance.
That it occurred years after he died made it no less
impactful – it was Robin Williams!
Bernie Mac also comes to me in spirit, as does Joan
Rivers, Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson and Lenny Bruce, who gives the best pep talks: “You got this kid, coil up all that
nervous energy and let it POP on stage. They won’t even be able to keep up! That’s my girl!”
Yes, I see dead comedians, and these experiences
have provided an incredible healing journey for myself
that enables me to help other comedians find their own light and follow it to their perfect destiny.
When comedians come to me for channeled guidance
gency to honor them and myself by shining a light in the conversation, and, of course, the comedy material.
In fact, I called out for a new mission for myself: to
use my platform as a performer to change the story to
one of joyful creativity. To end the culture of destruction and bring healing to the world through comedy.
So, a new healing modality evolved: Class Clowns.
Through focused group classes, students explore and
create communication that is raw, vulnerable, and some-
times challenging, but that uplifts and shifts daily frustrations into humorous realizations, which liberates dis-
comfort around the experience being discussed. Rather than tear down, comedy creates a shift in perspective which helps us overcome our fear of abandonment or
confrontation, for instance. It’s a transparent, non-toxic
engagement with a new genre of comedy that heals the performer and the audience, which is so needed today. With over a decade of teaching stand-up comedy
to disempowered groups, kids, adults, CEOs, military
veterans, health care workers, community organizations,
creative networking groups, and individuals experiencing emotional or spiritual blocks, I’ve seen with my own eyes, people from different backgrounds and belief systems come together in ways they couldn’t have predicted.
And the harmful culture of dis-ease that has driven
from the comedy masters, they’re usually burdened with
brilliant performers to burn out early and sometimes perish
edge or a rage; that substance use, emotional imbalance,
message. So let’s start with you. Do you have a funny little
the old story that to perform well, they need to have an and an inability to “fit in” are requirements to be funny.
As someone who has successfully performed all over
will no longer deny the world their special energy and
story to share? If you are being guided to the light by way of the mic, check out my offerings at monacomedy.com.
