How’s Your Human Navigating Life?

S

ome spiritual people find it helpful to refer to an aspect of themselves as their “Human” Self.

As in, “My human was challenged today because I couldn’t see my father in the hospital Covid ward.”

further, my mother was finally able to see my dad, only to discover he’d lost 20 pounds, was completely uncommunicative with increasing dementia, and if you touched his skin he howled in pain.

This was what I was challenged with recently.

To top it all off, he was sporting an odd-looking moustache on his face, which he certainly didn’t have when he entered the hospital.

It’s a good reminder that there’s another place to come from – our Higher Self / our Soul / Spirit – who can help guide our Human Self through painful times without bypassing what we came here to experience.

He went in with serious medical issues, to be sure, but his level of decline was severe and shocking. And that weird moustache?! Cosmic absurdity.

My Human Self was challenged

My father stopped eating and died shortly after. His transition to the

afterlife was welcomed by me because it was obviously his time. But that still didn’t take the pain away from me and my family; it was necessary to move through. I brought in my Higher Self to help me, to “hold” me, and to remind me this is all a dream anyway – nobody actually dies – and I was now forming a new relationship with him that continues to expand today as I heal.

I will see him again, and he’s in my heart until then.

I hope you allow Your Higher Self to help your Human Self through this plane with increasing amounts of grace and At ease.

t was in 2nd grade, in Miss Bergen’s class, when she told us that people, human beings, are animals. My

bestie and I looked at each other and giggled—the very thought of us kids being animals sent a murmur through the entire classroom.

At lunchtime all the kids pretended they were in animal form. Some forged around like buffalo, while others pretended to swim like fish, and some flapped their wings like birds. As kids it was easy to use our imaginations to connect with the energy of the animals and feel into all their habits and traits. I remember this because it was one of those magical times when I understood my connection with the energy of other forms of life, and this felt right.

Flash forward 45 years. I’m asked to author a book on the spiritual energy of animals. My initial reaction was to dismiss this, as flower energy is my forte. Then, as I reflected, I was reminded of the fact that it’s all just energy—be it flower, animal, rock, person, or place.

A Flash of the Heart So, they went back to their old coping mechanisms, which they felt they could control, which is out of control What is it about these times in particular that might cause someone to seek addiction recovery?

Well, these have been very trying times. Especially with the isolation, an increase of alcohol and other drug use, as well as other addictive behaviors. Where they become very dependent, because their relationships are pretty much

locked out emotionally and physically. There’s been a high rate of relapse back to drugs and alcohol, through the anxiety and the inability to communicate with their support.

Live connections for recovery are so important – you have to have the hugs, the eye contact, getting together for coffee or lunch, or the energy that you want. The energy shift that’s happened caught many people off guard, and they didn’t really know how to adjust to it. So, they went back to their old coping mechanisms, which they felt they could control, which is out of control.

It seems that a lot of us have comfort zones; places we can hide out and not have to look at certain things. Whether it’s food addiction, or whatever it is, when the pressure’s turned up, then it comes to the fore and affects your life. I think it does bring the character defects to light. And if you have an awareness, and people around you who can help enlighten you and grow you, yes it can cause you to become resilient and to overcome your dependencies in unhealthy ways on busyness. That was one of the things I noticed for me, is it cut down on my purpose for living.

All of us walk around with these skeletons in our closet, and we’re really trying to suppress our darkness. We’re all trying to suppress something that we believe (on the subconscious level) is our Truth. But, the angels can see everything. So, there’s this powerful opening of the heart

when we are fully exposed in this way. Even the parts that are dark are called forth to receive the love and are given permission to feel deserving (especially where we feel we’re undeserving).

What would you tell someone about the importance of embracing our dark side and why it’s not as terrible as it seems? Why should we love it into our field permanently?

This is a very startling and confronting experience for every human. It is a paradigm shift that some are not wanting to allow because they are wanting everything to feel safe. But true safety is when you are settled in the truth of yourself.

It will seem like things have been sped up. There’s much more disorientation, confusion, disintegration. And you will get used to change, and being new, and living in the moment.

What are some tips or tools that we can use to do that?

You are wanting to count on yourself to be your own stability. You are wanting to count on the fact that emotionally you will be there for yourself regardless of whether you are a success, whether you have money or not, whether you were able to keep your family alive or not. That you will remain intact with yourself and loyal to that which you are. You are wanting to know that you will not leave yourself - that you will love and accept and honor and welcome yourself no matter what happens, and that you will be there standing by your own side if the house burns down. This is an era of the most profound discovery of self-love.

How do we cultivate that?

Start by asking yourself the question, “How are you wanting to feel love?” Because everyone

wants to feel love in a different way. We were just transmitting to Rachel’s Wednesday night group the other day, that the only way someone can feel

helped is if you ask them how they are wanting to

be helped, and not assume that it be in a certain way.

Otherwise, it will not feel helpful. And you are existing in a

sensory based reality where feeling is literally everything.

When Rachel asks us, “Why is this happening to me?” We are wanting to counter her, because we know what she wants and she cannot align with it with this question. We are wanting instead to guide her into the vibration by asking her the question: What are you wanting to feel? How are you wanting this to be perceived? How are you wanting to see yourself? How are you wanting the earth to look? Where are you wanting to be? Because when you are tuning into your “desire center,” you are accessing the Creator of all that is...

Raising a Shaman in the

ou wouldn’t have known with my carefully styled hair and ironed dress, that I would one

day step into my role as a shamanic medium.

But, my mother suspected and hadn’t told me.

I grew up in a religious environment and learned at church that psychics were evil and messages from mediums were an abomination of God. After I became aware of my gifts in 2016, I prayed for a way that I could tell my mother that I was “different” (without breaking her heart or scaring her).

One quiet night, three years later, I felt that familiar nervous pull of my body to act now. I sat down with my mother on her brown leather sofa and

shared, “Mom, I communicate with the deceased, and the angels – and I always have.”

I told her about having had two-way conversations with Jesus at a very young age and how my deceased Grandmother had been guiding me for years. I shared that many of my clients have told me they’ve experienced profound peace, comfort and a permission to move forward in their life; and that helping them to communicate in this way brought them closer to God (not further away).

And then I gave her space to be with it all by saying, “I would understand any way that you might feel about hearing this. And I’m not asking you to change your beliefs for me. I know you love your faith and I would never want to take that away from you.”

She took a deep breath and said, “You are my daughter and nothing will ever change that. Nothing would ever make me love you less. God’s love does not disclude anyone.”

By Scott Ware He knew he wasn’t supposed to be here, but he couldn’t help himself. This went way beyond curiosity to a real excitement he hadn’t felt since childhood. That thing called “fun.”

“Do you have a ticket?” A woman with long silver hair and a fuzzy shawl addressed him. She stood near the door of conference room labeled: “Divine Energy Healing is Our Birthright – Evidential Healer, Dawna Sapier.”

Caught off guard, he searches his pockets.

“Here somewhere. I’m Mark Stoddard.”

“Perhaps in your cell phone?”

He hesitates before glancing at his front shirt pocket where his cell phone peeks out, camera aimed straight ahead. Is he recording?

“Sure.” He grabs the phone and opens it, quickly closing an app and opening another.

She scans it and slips a brochure into his hands.

Mid-thirties and dressed a little too self-consciously, Mark studies the photo of Dawna Sapier in the brochure, then subtly scans the room for her.

A man in flowing yoga pants and a ponytail approaches Mark with a big smile and a hug he can’t escape.

“Bro, welcome,” he says, and opens his arms for a full hug.

Mark reluctantly embraces him and is surprised when the guy adjusts his torso and pulls

“Uh, thanks.” Mark forces a smile and releases the man.

“Ever woke up in the morning without an idea, clue, or plan, just a sensation... a feeling like something special is going to happen?”

The problem is that I’m not a field agent, I’m inhouse. I’d get fired

Crazy that he said all that… except he didn’t. He only imagined saying it in his head.

Rewind.

“Uh, I just thought I could use a little… personal expansion.

The bro’s voice fades as Mark spots Dawna Sapier entering the room and chatting with a volunteer. Late 30s, confident and a little high-strung.

Mark puts out his hand. “Hi, I’m your fan. I mean Mark, and I’m a big, big. Fan.”

“Thank you, thank you for coming…” She’s about to give him a minimal greeting, but something seizes her.

There’s a palpable energy between them, suddenly. It’s not romantic necessarily, but it’s powerful and they both notice.

She looks deeply in his eyes.

“Do you remember a life on a vegetative planet, very…”

“Leafy?”

“Yes!” Mark turns to the bro. “Would you excuse me?”

“No.” He thinks about it. “I mean, I want to…”

Mark moves in Dawna’s direction. He can now hear her conversation.

She speaks into the mic. “Welcome everyone to perhaps the first real day of healing you’ve ever experienced. We’re going to… “

There’s some light applause as Dawna walks to the podium. She says hello to several people, and keeps glancing at Greg, who has obviously unhinged her.
