WHAT TO WATCH FOR
FRIDAY
// 8 PM CT // FOX
• UCLA has won two straight and is looking to finish the season 3-1 and get bowl eligible.
• Bruins' QB Ethan Garbers is playing his best football of the season right now. Over the last two games, Garbers has thrown for 602 yards, 5 TDs and 0 INT to go along with 104 rushing yards and 1 TD.
• Iowa is also playing their best football right now –winning three of their last four games (only loss is 32-20 loss to Michigan State). They have outscored opponents 122-40 in their last three wins.
• Big Ten and ACC teams have struggled mightily traveling out west for conference games this year.
SATURDAY
// 2:30 PM CT // THE CW
• Oregon State needs to go 2-2 in their last four games to get to a bowl game with San Jose State, Air Force, No. 21 Washington State and No. 12 Boise State remaining.
• The Beavs are 12th in the country in rushing (216.6 yards per game) but only rushed for 60 in their last game vs. Cal. They had a bye week last week and look to get the running game back on track.
• The matchup to watch in this one is the OSU pass defense vs. San Jose State's passing offense. The Beavs allow just 198.8 passing yards per game, while the Spartans throw for 324.5 yards per game.
SATURDAY // 9:15 PM CT // ESPN
Utah needs to go 2-2 in their last four games to go bowling this season, and the stretch starts with a tough matchup and their biggest rival – No. 9 BYU.
• The Utes have lost four straight and need to find a spark on offense. They reopened their QB battle during the bye between Isaac Wilson and Brandon Rose. Whoever starts will need to limit turnovers against a BYU defense that thrives off takeaways.
• BYU plays great complimentary football and rank in the top 25 in both scoring offense and defense. They score 35.1 PPG (25th) and allow 19.6 (24th).
SATURDAY // 2:30 PM CT // ESPN2
• The uncertainty in this game surrounds around the status of Army QB Bryson Daily. He missed last week's game vs. Air Force and his status is not yet known for this week. Daily has 629 passing yards and 7 passing TDs to go with 909 rushing yards and a whopping 19 rushing TDs.
• Dewayne Coleman started at QB for the Black Knights last week – throwing for 48 yards and rushing for 42. If Army wants to push for a CFP spot, they likely need Daily back.
• North Texas QB Chandler Morris is 4th in the FBS in passing (2873 yards) with 26 TDs and 8 INTs.
SATURDAY // 6 PM CT // ESPN2
• ASU became bowl eligible last week –already doubling their win total from 2023.
Arizona State has a great running game – rushing for 210.4 yards per game (19th). Their offense was back at full strength last week with QB Sam Leavitt back from injury. He threw for 304 yards and 3 TDs last week, while the team also rushed for 225 yards.
• UCF changed their starting QB last week vs. Arizona and had their best offense game of the season. QB Dylan Rizk was great – passing for 294 yards and 3 TD to go with 55 rushing yards. UCF rushed for 308 as a team (7.0 yards per carry).
SATURDAY // 9:30 PM CT // THE CW
Washington State is having a great season, with it's only loss coming to now No. 12 Boise State.
• QB John Mateer has 2153 passing yards and 18 TDs, as well as a team-leading 575 rushing yards and 10 TDs. His favorite target has been SR WR Kyle Williams, who has 636 yards and 5 TDs this season.
• The Cougs are tied for 13th in scoring (38.1 PPG).
• Wazzu's defense ranks 85th in points allowed (26.9 per game), but a lot of those points came against San Jose State (52) and Boise State (45). In the other six games, they have allowed just 19.7 per game.
