Sea Norway is a stage-by-stage, Tall Ship voyage along the Norwegian coast between Oslo in the south and Lofoten in the North. Join the ship from Oslo, and sail along the coast to Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway, with a stopover in Arendal along the way.
We sail onward to the coastal town of Arendal, a famous harbour during the age of tall ships. You can still see signsof its heyday in the late nineteenth century when Arendal was home to many w ealthy shipowners.

09:00 This stage takes you from Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway, and westward along the 'Norwegian Riviera' to Stavanger, gateway to the magnificent Lysefjorden and home to Pulpit Rock, one of the world’s truly breath-taking viewpoints.
We make a stop in Lysefjorden, and you can hike to Preikestolen ( Pulpit Rock). Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) towers 604 metres above Lysefjord and the hike up is one of Norway’s most famous mountain hikes.
You can also choose to climb the Flørli stairs. The stairway has 4.444 steps and is one of the longest wooden stairways in the world. We have 20 seats for this trip.
The hike costs NOK 200 per person and must be prebooked online.
The final leg of the voyage takes us to Stavanger.

09:00 Sail with us through Vesterled, one of the traditional Viking sea routes, on a grand voyage from the western capital of Bergen over to the idyllic Shetland Islands and onward to picturesque Kristiansund. You will get a panoramic view of Lerwick, Shetland’s capital and most northerly town of the British Isles. In Lerwick you can join us for a sight-seeing trip.

Visit Scalloway, the ancient capital with its ancient castle, which was build around 1600 by Earl Patrick Stewart. Visit the Scalloway Museum, with its displays on ancient Shetland and ‘The Shetland Bus’, the name of a secret operation carried out by the resistance movement during World War II. View the beauty of the Tingwall valley, learn about of our Norse heritage and visit Shetland’s largest woodlands at Kergord. The Shetland jewellery workshop you can see the production of handcrafted items with Celtic and Norse design, andpurchase items in the shop. Duration. 3,5 hours. Must be prebooked online.
We will arrive in Kristiansund, beautifully situated on four islands that form a unique harbour area facing the open ocean. Kristiansund is Norway`s c lipfish capital, and the place to experience traditional bacalao and other delicious salted cod dishes.

We plan to stop and drop anchor close to the Svartisen glacier. Norway’s second largest glacial mass has 60 “ice tongues” and covers 370 square kilometres. After a short hike, we will have lunch ashore. This will be a voyage you will always remember.

After departure from the vibrant city of Trondheim, we pass the historic islet of Munkholmen. Used for public executions during the Viking Age, it has also housed a monastery and fortresses, and today is a popular recreational area.
During the voyage we will also make a stop in Ervik, one of the westernmost villages in mainland Norway. Surrounded by steep cliffs and endless ocean, the views are breath-taking, especially from the beach which is one of Norway’s best surfing spots.
We then set course for Bergen, the “city of the seven mountains” and capital of Western Norway.

CHRISTIAN RADICH Sea Norway makes this possible. In fact, not only can you experience steering, climbing aloft, setting the sails and living aboard Christian Radich – a towering beauty of a tall ship – you can do it while enjoying the spectacularly wild scenery of Norway’s rugged coasts and the sublime splendour of its fjords. Since the summer of 2020, Christian Radich has offered exclusive and unique adventure travel experiences for small groups of cosailors looking for an unforgettable experience. Christian Radich is one of the few remaining “windjammers” from the last century still in active service. With a main mast towering above 37 meters, and more than a thousand meters of sail spun on almost 9000 meters of rope, it is truly a majestic sight. Built at the Framnæs shipyard in Sandefjord in 1937, Christian Radich was originally used as a training ship for the Norwegian Merchant Navy, and later converted into a charter ship in 1999.

Things to Bring Clothing: You must bring hardwearing, warm clothes that are water- and windproof, and good shoes. Even if you sail in summer, it can be cold at sea, especially on night watch. Other items: • Passport • Sleeping bag, not too warm • Warm and waterproof clothing • Cap • Gloves • Toiletries • Suntan lotion • Sunglasses • Shoes with rubber soles, or rubber boots • Towel • Personal medicines • • Mobil phone charger • • Small backpack for going ashore • • Pack your belongings in a soft bag without wheels. (it must be stored in your locker, which only takes 120 liters). • • Bring a small padlock to lock your locker with, or buy one on board. • or purchase on board.
The shop on board In the small shop you can buy some snacks, chocolate, soft drinks, toiletries and souvenirs. Mobile phones and power There is no mobile phone coverage when we are in open sea. If you require contact with people ashore, the ship and the office will assist you. The power supply onboard is 220V AC. Washing clothes Normally, it’s not possible to wash your clothes onboard. However, if your voyage is longer than one week, you may contact the sergeant about using the ships washing machine. Luggage The ship has limited space for luggage. Your luggage allowance is a bag of 120 litres.

Welcome to a voyage of discovery aboard for a Sea Norway voyage and we promise you intimate contact with the ocean. No two days aboard will be the same. One could see you setting and trimming sails, steering, navigating and learning the ways of the open sea; the next you might spend enjoying the fjords with the sun in your face, swaying in a hammock with a good book, taking photos or in discussions with your fellow adventurers over a cup of coffee.
As a co- sailor, you may find yourself taking the helm at night, watching dolphins play in the bow waves and whales pass by, while the others sleep and the only sound is the wind in the sails. From the east, around Norway’s southern tip and westwards to the high North, the contrasts are extreme. Bodø, located north of the Arctic Circle, is home to the "midnight sun", eagle and whale safaris and the world’s strongest maelstrom. HIKING Why not supplement your voyage with a few once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventures. Norway, with its amazingly varied terrain, wide-open spaces and interconnected network of trails and cabins, is an Eldorado for hikers and nature lovers. Regardless of whether you prefer to visit World Heritage sites and iconic attractions, such as the panoramic Pulpit Rock or the world’s strongest maelstrom Saltstraumen, or rather want to discover breathtakingly beautiful villages and remote alpine plateaus, hiking can take you there.

Many of the best outdoor destinations are within easy reach of our ports of call and you will find a wide selection of hiking and exploring excursions suitable for all ages and levels of mobility.
On our visits to the Lofoten archipelago, stop at the most beautiful village in Norway, Reine for a trek up to the breathtaking seascapes from Reinebringen mountain or hike along a seascape of little fishing villages stacked up one after the other like a string of pearls. If you want to follow in the footsteps of Norway’s Queen Sonja, our stop at Bodø brings you close to her favorite hiking destination, the craggy peaks of the Seven Sisters mountain range. Inland from Bergen, you can wander for days across the alpine plateau of the Hardangervidda National Park. With nearly 30 public cabins and endless trails to hike, it’s home to a large herd of wild reindeer and close to the Folgefonna glacier.
If you travel through the city of Stavanger, don’t miss the hike up to Pulpit Rock, one of the world’s truly breath-taking viewpoints. From this panorama point, at 604 meters, you look down on the magnificent Lysefjord, with its vagabond’s cave, ancient farms, water falls, idyllic islands and majestic landscape.

LOCAL HERITAGES Why not complement your voyage by exploring Norway’s unique heritage.
Many of the country’s World Heritage sites are in easy reach of our ports of call. Norway is also renowned for its maritime heritage, from fishing and shipping to oil and gas. You can see evidence of this all along our route, from the ‘clipfish capital’ of Kristiansund founded on bacalao, to the futuristic Norwegian Petroleum Museum in Stavanger.
Other attractions you can discover along the way include a Viking chieftain’s longhouse with its own banqueting hall, and a 17th century Manor House and Renaissance garden in a remote coastal village. Once ashore, you’ll discover a plethora of museums, from Bergen’s Hanseatic Museum, and Lofoten’s Stockfish Museum and Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, to Oslo’s hyper-modern Munch Museum.
