Cloud Computing Sneha M. I. BCA Cloud Computing is Internet - learned utility computing, basically shared resources, software and information that are used by end users. More than 80% of world wide computation data is being predicted to move into clouds in next five to ten years. Cloud Computing is a new concept in the field of information technology. Benefits of Cloud Computing There are several positive factors for deciding in favor of moving to Cloud Computing. They are : - Entry cost for a business to set itself up in cloud is much less compared to traditional set up. - No longer used to worry about end of life for hardware / software. - Price is generally based on usage options. - Organizations can use only applications which are suited for their need and not to pay huge amount on licenses for using a software suite.

Cloud Computing became one of the key words of the IT Industry and it is the style of computing. Where mainly scaled IT related capability are provided as a service across the internet to multiple external customers and are billed by consumption. Cloud Computing is a new concept in today field within 5 years there is no doubt that Cloud Computing would construct in development of Nation.
Building Modern India Through National Integration Chaithra G. I BCA India is a great country. It is one of the largest countries of the world with a population of about 1,210,193,422 persons. Thus making it the second largest populated country in the world. India follows China in this race of population with an area of about 3,287,263 sq. Kilometers. About 200 languages and dialects are spoken in India. Our country is divided into 29 states and 7 Union Territories. It is a Kaleidoscope of contrasting cultures, ethnic societies and rich heritage. It is a sub continent with vast variations in economy, cultures, languages, climate, religion, arts and crafts. "Unity in Diversity" It has become one of the most hackneyed slogans. As we talk of it, the situation of unity becomes more desperate. A close look at the situation is revealing and starting. It is a shocking fact that during the last 62 years of Independence, there has been a progressive "disunity in diversity". Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Bihar and many other states are in turmoil. Many parts of the country are in the grip of terrorists and separatists. Many areas are threatened by the demands of sub division and autonomy. The herculean efforts of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel brought together. Scattered kingdoms, states and empires within the main stream of a United India. Today it seems to be on the verge of collapse. The crisis of Unity is also discernible in case of other nations. Certain nations though small and with limited resources achieved a phenomenal level of economic growth. The so called four tigers of Asia, viz. Hongkong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan are glaring examples. On the other hand many large nations with Central rule collapsed or receded.
The past cannot be changed, the future is yet in your power.

Divide and Rule It had been a popular colonial tool and a symptom of imperial history if it is a fact of politics. Conversely "Unite and do not rule" is equally true. There is no doubt that unity and rule do not go side by side. In a democratic set up political and bureaucratic systems have to be subservient to people and not their masters. In other words, for integration of the country in place of centralised, dictatorial and strong government, local autonomy and self rule are the essential prerequisities. What we mean by modern is a matter of individual perception. For some, India is already in a post modern era. Some people think that trendy wear, sports, shoes, jazzy music and fast food mean modern India. The question is whether if any mistakes in a traditional India? Have the modern developments disintegrated Indians into contrasting islands of prosperity and object poverty? In the name of economic justice and social equity, are we not creating new sub divisions of a homogeneous society? Is it a valid concept to divide the society on the basis of castes and economic status like EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG etc? These questions are necessary to pose in order to understand the meaning of the key theme. i.e. modern India and national integration. Unless we understand these basic issues, we will continue to indulge in day dreaming. In my view, national integration does not mean a centralised and commanding structure of government. It does not mean uniformity. Adoption of certain national attributes like language, dress or colours is a superficial concept of national integration. On the contrary, such ideas are counterproductive to unity and integration. What is required is an understanding attitude towards local context, peculiarities, culture and lifestyles. National Integration is a horizontal concept. Where as the vertical hierarchical structure of the government goes against its basic character. Therefore we will have to involve an innovative approach based on horizontal linkages rather than perpetuating the British of colonial system where the government is the Master and people are its subjects. National Integration cannot be achieved until people have control over their situations. Let them be comfortable with their own traditions. This would offer them a 'better life' within the frame work of 'Modern India'. We are in a world where economic criteria of theories of social development are no longer sacrosanct if the efforts of National
14
Integration from the commanding heights have failed can the incitive at local level achieve much. This would be a certain way to build a Modern and Integrated India - the India of Mahatma Gandhi's Vision. "The ink of a scholar is more sacred than the blood of the Martyr."
Demonetisation: Impact on Banking Sector - Bhargavi G. Kulkarni II B.Com. What is Demonetization? In simple words, it means old currency (notes) or even coins must be retired and replaced with the new ones or completely new currency can be introduced like 2,000/- note which was not available earlier. On 8th November 2016, our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement was the breaking news across India. 500/- and 1,000/- notes (currency) were made illegal from the strike of midnight. Indian Government's goal was to remove all counterfeit (fake) currency from the market which is used in tax evasion, corruption and even in funding terrorist activities. It was also to promote "Cashless Economy". Demonetisation was a big and risky decision and as some apatty said it's a "Master Stroke" and some even said "Surgical Strike" on Black Money. Impact of Demonetisation on Banking The biggest beneficiary from Demonetization was Banking sector. This was mainly due to the queues of people depositing cash in the banks which resulted in substantial liquidity with the banks. As the deposits with the banks will increase so will increase the CASA (Current Account, Savings Account) which will increase the net interest income and the net earnings of the banks. However, this will not be abnormally high since the RBI has increased the CRR in the short term to mop up some of this liquidity. As stated above higher CASA means large amount of deposits are in Current and Savings Account. This way the banks get funds at no or very low cost (interest). Banks do not pay interest on the Current account deposits and pays a very low % on interest on Savings account deposits. Hence, it is a good measure to get deposits at no or very low cost. As the banks get a lot of liquidity in their hands,

they are expected to enhance the borrowing cycle by lending the money at a lower rate of interest. Hence, the interest rate on borrowing will lower down. There has been a significant growth in the mobile wallet sector also which is related to banking. Transferring money as well as making payment for online orders is easy with mobile wallets. Ex: Paytm, Mobikwik, Phoneme etc. After Demonetization, rather than being tied up in the cash crunch and standing in the newer ending ATM Queues, more people switched to online payments. There has been a rise in the number of debit and credit card transactions. Even smaller vendors have introduced cashless payment methods. Demonetization will help the E-Commerce industry and insist or encourage the people to use more cash less transactions in day to day life, so that people need not carry money in currency form for any purchases. This will help banking sector to expand business to rural areas quickly and do the more business to reach the general public for their regular activities. However, as the country undergoes this huge transformation from a cash dominant economy to a near cashless economy. This move wil definitely bring about a sea of change in the way transactions are done in India and help strengthen the economy by wiping out black money and fake currency.
Save Girl - Empower Women - M Bhavadharani I B.Com. The position and status of women all over the world has risen incredibly in the 20th century. We find that it has been very low in 18th and 19th centuries in India when they were treated like objects that can be bought and sold. For a long time women in India remained within the four walls of their household. Their dependence on menfolk was total. A long struggle going back over a century has brought women the property rights and voting rights before the new law in matters of marriage and employment. In addition to the above rights in India, the customs of Purdha, female infanticide, child marriage, sati system, dowry system and the state of permanent widowhood were either totally removed or checked to an appreciable extent after Independence through legislative measures. Two acts have also been enacted to emancipate women
15
in India. These are : Protection of Women from Domestic violence Act 2005 and the Compulsory Registration of Marriage Act 2006. This act recognizes that abuse be physical as well as mental. Anything that makes a woman feel inferior and takes away her self-respect is abuse. Compulsory Registration of Marriage Act can be beneficial in preventing the abuse of institution of marriage and hindering social justice especially in relation to women. It would help the innumerable women in the country who get abandoned by their husbands and have no means of proving their marital status. It would also help check child marriages, bigamy and polygamy, enable women to seek maintenance and custody of their children and widows can claim inheritance rights. The Act is applicable on all women irrespective of caste, creed or religion. It would truly empower women exercise their rights. To what extent legislative measures have been able to raise the status of women in India? Are women now feel empowered in the sense that they are being equally treated by men in all spheres of life and are able to express one's true feminine urges and energies? These are the important questions to be investigated with regard to women's empowerment in India. We all know that girls are now doing better at school than boys. The annual results of Secondary and Higher Secondary Board examinations reveal this fact. More women are getting degrees than men and are filling most new jobs in every field. Save the Girl child "Save the Girl Child" is a social initiative in India to fight against the practice of female foeticide. The initiative also aims at protecting, safeguarding, supporting, and educating the girl child. Our present Prime Minister has requested every section of the society to give whole-hearted support to the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" abhiyan. 'Beti Bachao' means save girl child and 'Beti Padhao' means 'educate the girl child. How to Save Girl Child? 1. Women Empowerment : The women need to be empowered. A woman has every right to give birth to a baby. The girl child is a blessing of God. Just give her a chance, and she will make you proud with her achievements. 2. support to the family and help them to come out of poverty level. Female children are often most at risk when it comes to poverty, lack of education and violence. Female children are also at risk from gingered threats such as feticide, female marriage and child marriage. As such, it is important to take care of girl children and to give them all of the opportunities that they need to succeed in life. We belong to the modern generation of humanity. We seek an environment where every human-being is considered free. We seek an environment where every unborn child is welcomed without any gender bias. Mahatma Gandhi gave the slogan 'do or die' to his countrymen for the cause of their motherland. The unborn child is also seeking similar spirit among the countrymen in support of her cause.
Importance of Time - Nischitha M. I. B.Com. "Time is precious, yet man spends it as if it is eternal and immortal." One often complains about how we do not have enough time for leisure. This is not because there are only 24 hours in a day but because we do not know how to utilize time, the important asset of life little drops of water little grains of sand make the mighty ocean and the bounteous land. But, the little moments of life, humble though they may be, Make the mighty ages of eternity! Time is a very precious jewel which once lost cannot be gained. The past is dead and the future unborn but it is the present that we live in, we should be think about it. We must not waste our time thinking about the mistakes we made in the past or about the things we would like to do in the future always. We must concentrate in the present so as to make our lives the way we want to live it to the fullest. "A stitch in time saves nine" goes a very famous saying. If we learn how to manage our time wisely not only will we have enough time for studies and leisure but also be relieved of the stress we go through everyday. Life is short and we must

This is only because of the hard work they did. They also had the ability to manage time wisely. Value of Time Time is precious don't let it pass by for once it's gone, there's nothing but to cry So be strong and hold some Give some and take some Time is water, don't let it dry For once it's gone, there's nothing but to cry So be quick and keep some give some and gain some. Time is money don't let it fly For once it's gone, there's nothing but cry So be wise and grasp some Give some and gain some Time is precious don't let it pass by For once it's gone, there's nothing but to cry. We should understand the value of time until it is too late. After all, it is always our choice to use our time wisely or waste it anyway. “A moment gone never comes back."

becomes a smooth flow when there is Discipline. Discipline leads to self control. Where does this begin from? A home meant to be the first nursery and the parents their first tutors should begin to teach them to Discipline their life and to give respect. Parents are the children's copy book. They are more quickly prone to learn and understand to treat everyone respectfully. Besides education of the students, teachers, considered as second parents, should relentlessly put in their efforts to the test of moulding the students to be worthy citizens of tomorrow. Not only with the knowledge but in the Noble Mission the main ingredient to be involved in the temple of learning is shaping up a child's personality to be disciplined and to give respect to his work or duties, opinions, ideas, his way of speaking. It is said "Its better to conquer yourself with Discipline than to win thousand battles." Self respect improves one's personality. A respectable person is always recognized and admired by all. Your Strength, Your Fire - Chayashree P. I B.Com. Do you ever feel already buried deep, six feet under screams and no one seems to hear a thing? Sometimes, in life we have great ideas, big dreams and out of the box aspirations. Its long as we 'fit in' into the stereotype world, we get noticed. But if we have different ideas and few means, we tend to get trampled upon. We find all the doors closed. We get desperate. We begin to hate life. We begin to hate ourselves. But that should not be the case. Inside each one of us lies a special 'fire'. That fire should be ignited and we should shine bright. The fire within us is our Strength. This Strength is our fighting force. It should ignite so bright, that people are blinded by it. Our self confidence, our self esteem and our determination are the fuels we can add to our fire, in order to glow. When life gets difficult, we should never back down. Instead we should face it and overcome all our hurdles. Facing your fear is the only way to overcome it. The most renowned people in the world, have all faced hurdles and defeat. Nobody

It is their sheer determination, will power, confidence and luck, to some extent which has let them make a mark in life. All we have to do is, remember that within each one of us, lies a spark, which is waiting to be ignited. We have no idea what the future has in store for us. After every hurricane, there appears a rainbow. This brings a new hope for a better tomorrow and a brighter future. You've just got to ignite the light and let it shine. Just own the night! A Pencil I am - Jhanavi C. I B.Com. Life on Earth is quite simple. Day and night, summer and winter, birth and death, that's life in a nut shell. All human beings on this beautiful planet when born, enjoy a life of an innocent little child and then grow up to be a man and then an old man practically tall, intelligent, smart and what not, then finally dead! Well that's the irony. Well I am Mr. Pencil. My life begins just like any other human being but in a different domain perhaps. I grew up just like all the kids of my type, plants is what humans called us, I had a million leaves to show off and I almost touched the skies, time passed and I was a tree now, a big tree of who knows how many centuries, unlike the humans I don't really grow old and die, grow big and be done. My ending starts with a new beginning. It starts with my branches touching the ground, with my leaves all withered, with my entire majestic trunk brought down to Earth, chopped...... Chopped into little pieces, and little pieces, until finally there become a million parts of me, carefully trimmed to be slim, to be perfect, to be smooth to be PENCIL. All the kids in the world love me. Infact, I happen to become their best friend, they would cry if I was lost, they would fight for me, they would do just anything to keep me safe. Little did the innocent souls know how safe I was? I helped every kid on this planet to grow up learning about every detail, they would scribble with me, they would chew me to the core, poke me into their noses, yes...... I have certainly explored a lot.

Donate Blood, Save Life - Harini S. 1st B.C.A. Blood donaton is one of the most significant contribution that a person can make towards the society. It is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days. It poses no threat to the metabolism of the body. The WORLD Blood Donor day is observed on 14th June every year. An ailing body needs blood whenever necessary. He may be attacked with anemia, undergone an operation or may meet with an accident. But such a patient may die for want of Blood as it is not always available. Even a pregnant mother may need Blood in case of emergency situation. Blood has 4 groups namely A, B, AB and O. The required group must be the same while transplanting otherwise the transplantation will go in vain and even the patient may die. The man with the O-ve group blood is called the Universal Donar as the people having others can accept it. The man with AB group of blood is called the Universal Receiver as he accepts all groups of blood. Blood can be stored for a limited period of time that is why the blood banks need a steady and constant collection. Now a days a public awareness is noticed to donate blood. Many Clubs, Colleges, Societies, Offices etc organize Blood Donation camps on different occasions. It is a healthy gesture. We must keep this aptitude up at any cost. Our blood banks are running short of required blood. By organizing such Blood donation camps we may help them to enrich their capacity. However, it is very important that while taking blood from a certain person the concerned authority must make sure the blood is not infected. Blood donation is our human duty. Our body does not get affected if we donate blood. The body can repair the loss within a few days. So we must come forward to donate blood as it makes sure the return of a dying man again into the light of life.

Be a donor, Gain a favour - Divyashree S. I B.Com. The Gift of blood is a Blood of Life." The human body has to perform well in this wear and tear of life. The most significant contribution to the best performance of human body is due to the healthy blood. Blood plays a vital role in human body. It shares a major part to support the functioning of the body, by circulating the food and Oxygen to the whole body. The scarcity of the blood is harmful to the body and in some cases it may lead to death. A person requires blood when he is abrupt by an accident or an operation. There may be a large loss of the Blood during these circumstances and person requires the external sources of blood. It is when Blood donors play the considerable role in saving lives of people. To produce awareness among the students, schools and colleges are best for introducing Blood Banks. Why is Blood Donation important? Every year our country requires 5 crore units of Blood, from which only 2.5 crores of Blood is available. Even worst condition is that there are nearly 8 main Blood types. This indicates that right type of Blood must be available at right time and this is hardly possible in developing countries like India. So to save a life of people we must encourage people to donate maximum amount of blood to improve the situation. The World Blood Donor Day is observed on 14th June every year. On an average our body has around 4.5 liters of blood which can be donated every three months in the case of men and every four months in case of women. Blood donation is our human duty. Our body does not get affected if we donate blood. The body can repair the loss within a few day. So we must come forward to give Blood as it can make sure the return of a dying man again into light of life. So whenever we have spare time, we can visit the hospital to donate the blood. We will surely feel happy; for the people will shower their blessing on for giving blood and saving their lives. "You don't have to be a doctor to save lives." "Just donate Blood."

Though the Session was attended by high profile guests from the business and the entertainments industry including Ratan Tata, it was boycotted by the opposition due to the predicted problems that it was bound to lead to for the Upper, Middle and Lower class Indians. Member of the Congress boycotted the GST launch altogether. They were enjoyed by members of Trinamol Congress, Communist parties of India and the DMK. These parties reported that they found virtually no differences between GST and existing taxation system claiming that Government was trying to rebrand the current taxation system. The introduction of GST increased the costs of most consumers Goods and Services in India including tours, hotels charge, insurance and cinema tickets. Upon its introduction in the country, GST led to number of protests by the business community, primarily due to an increase in overall taxes and hence the prices of Goods. The Central Government had proposed to insulate the revenues of states from the impact of GST, with the expectation that in due courses, GST will be levied on Petroleum products. The Central Government had assured states of compensation for any revenue loss incurred by them from the date of GST for a period of five years. However no concern law have yet been made to support such action.

paid by the manufacturer and it is again levied at the retail outlet when sold. 8. GST is backed by the GSTN, which is a fully integrated tax platform to deal with all aspects of GST.
Disadvantages : 1. Some economist say that GST in India would impact negatively on the real estate market. It would add upto 8 percent to the cost of the new homes and reduce demand by about 12 percent. 2. Some retail products currently have only four percent tax on them. After GST, garments and clothes could become more expensive. 3. Adoption and migration to the new GST system would involve teething troubles and learning for the entire eco system. As we all know GST compliance has a lot of technology and not just the law using the right technology for the right process in an efficient manner, will be of utmost challenge.. Meeting the compliances effectively dealing with the costs incurred and at the same time maintaining a consistent business perfermance, everything is going to be an uphill battle for the smal enterprises.
Advantages : 1. GST is a transparent tax and also reduces number of Indirect taxes. 2. GST will not be a cost to registered retailers therefore there will be no hidden taxes and the cost of doing business will be lower. 3. Benefits people as prices will come down which in turn will help companies as consumption will increase. 4. There is no doubt that is production and distribution of goods, services are increasingly user or consumer or consumed and vice versa. 5. In the GST system when all the taxes are integrated it would make possible the taxation burden to be split equally between manufacturing and service. 6. GST will also help to build a transparent and corruption free tax administration. 7. Presently a tax is levied on when a finished product moves out from a factory which is

and nor anyone can accept its scarcity. All need it and all must have it. It has become like something that one should have to lead one's life successfully. Even an uneducated man or woman needs discipline. The concept of discipline doesn't rest only in your appearances nor in your efficiency. Its very vast and one needs to understand it as whole and not as parts. Being well - dressed with artificial manners only shows that you are taught discipline and not caught discipline. Arriving in time with fear of losing something shows that you are disciplined for a cause not for a life. Being brutally honest with your boss shows how faithful you are and not how well disciplined you are. Visiting a temple regularly, maintaining a social status and trying to own a luxurious house etc. are all only part of the discipline and not the whole of a discipline. Discipline is something very personal and not general. Its not taught but its caught. Its inevitable. Its to be discovered and not debated. One starts the process of learning discipline as early as when he/she is in the womb of a mother. Eventually, his/her parents, home, relatives etc. become part of his/her learning process of discipline. In fact, discipline is the whole life and not vice - versa. Learning to command your body to respond to your wish is the very first step and lesson of discipline. All one needs to be disciplined is to do anything one does to its perfection. When one is playing, one needs to play as if it's the only game he is playing. When one is eating, he/she should eat in such a way that he/she is ready for another meal. When one is studying, one should study with all of his/her body and all of his/her mind. When one is working, he should work as if it's his own. When one is resting, one should rest, relaxing his/her whole body to the full. And when your body is in utmost control and doesn't lean towards the reigns of anything external, then that will be the last phase of learning or being disciplined. Do not study discipline but practice it. Let discipline rule your life and certainly everything comes under your control. Let discipline be part of you and you don't be part of discipline. Let discipline be whole and not part.

You cannot grow without struggle
Ms. Vidya B.S Department of Commerce Struggles, challenges and hard times offer you much more value than any other time in your life. You can't grow without struggles. You cannot get stronger without resistance. Imagine if you got what you wished. No Struggle. No Challenge. No hard work. And then, when something hard comes up in your life, you would not know how to handle it, because you have never gone through anything that strengthens you. You are stronger than you think. So don't give up. “OUR GREATEST STRUGGLES ALWAYS FORM OUR GREATEST STRENGTHS” ******
