AMBERS CARMEL SCHOOL
PRIMARY DIVISION OF INGENUITY PRESENTS
Message CHAIRMAN CARMEL SCHOOL
I am extremely happy to see this magazine ‘AMBERS OF INGENUITY’-a short compilation of children’s writings.
I appreciate all the teachers for their commitment to nurture the vast potential of children. Teachers have facilitated children to develop their thinking ability. It gives me immense pleasure to see the step by step progress of thoughts to words and words into sentences in the right language. My best wishes to all the teachers and children in all endeavours for talent exploration and several milestones to be achieved.
Message PRINCIPAL PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dear All, It gives me great satisfaction and happiness to bring out this magazine ’AMBERS OF INGENUITY’ – a string of selected original works of budding writers and artists. Words and ideas sparkle from innocent, yet potentially rich young minds. Their spontaneity inspired us to carve out newer paths to channelize their thoughts- thus sprang up ‘Ambers Of Ingenuity. We at Primary have taken a small step to give a feel of accomplishment to those students who have contributed their thoughts and penned them down as poems and stories. the source of all potential is hidden inside the hearts of every human being. We realize our responsibility to awaken this sleeping giant and bring it to furore. We Team Primary humbly rededicate ourselves to make honest effort for excellence of humanity entrusted in our hands.
Here is the first step to begin a journey of thousand miles filled with smiles.
PRELUDE If one were to search for creativity in the world the best step would be to talk to children. These young minds are a magnanimous library of creativeness. It was great pleasure to channelize their creativity and evolve them into beautiful literary works. The poems and stories in this magazine are more than a mere fairy tale magic. Compiling the contents of this magazine was a labour of love. Watching the young minds pen down their imagination into artistic literature has been an immense pleasure. It is a great feast to our eyes and ears watching the children participate in each activity with vigour and enthusiasm. When children put on their thinking caps, imagine and go deep into their fantasy world, interact and share this imagination, it brings to fray their public speaking ability. We, the teachers feel thrilled and enjoy every moment of these creative classes bubbling with energy and joy. It is a delight to see them blooming with confidence to comprehend situations. We look forward every week for these pleasant takeoffs.

listening them quarrel the pencil said, ”No friends, we are all equally important. We need each other.” But the eraser and the sharpener did not listen to the pencil’s advise and soon left the drawer.
After a few days the pencil saw two figures in a distance walking towards him. It was his friends the eraser and the sharpener. As the pencil went to greet them, the two friends held their heads down in shame and said, We are sorry dear
friend.
We
have

our
mistake. They both began to sob. As the pencil looked at his friends, the sharpener looked all rusty and the eraser was dirty and the pencil himself was blunt. The three friends hugged each other. The sharpener sharpened the pencil, the pencil wrote something on a paper and the eraser erased it. The three friends were bright and shiny again and they lived in peace and harmony.

Adventures of Dan the dog One upon a time, there lived a boy named Tom. He had a pet dog, Dan. Tom never cared for Dan. He was not feeding him. He was not playing with him and used to ignore Dan all the time. Dan felt very sad about his master. One day, as Dan was sitting in the park of his apartment, he felt lonely and started digging the ground. Suddenly, he found something
in
the
ground.
Dan
started
digging deeper and deeper and finally he found a shiny crystal.”I’ll take this to my den and gift it to master. He’ll be very happy”, Dan thought to himself. He took
the crystal to his den and soon night fell upon. In the darkness of the night the crystal
began
to
shine
very
brightly.
Magical beams started coming out of the crystal. Soon the magical rays fell upon Dan and he could feel himself getting stronger. The next morning, Dan ran over to his master Tom’s house and started getting things ready for Tom to get to school. When Tom woke up he saw that his room was cleaned, his schoolbag was packed, his shoes were polished, his uniform was ready to wear and Dan sat beside his bed wagging his tail. Tom
could
not

eyes.
He
understood Dan was behind all this. He patted Dan gently on his head and thanked him for his service. From then on, Tom
began to treat Dan well and they both enjoyed growing up together.

WHO IS BETTER? Once there was a fight between the planets. There were all arguing who is the better one among them. Mercury: I am better than you all because I’m the fastest one who revolves around the sun. Venus: No buddy, I am the better one as I’m called the morning star. Earth: No, You are wrong. I have life on me..I’m the only one who supports life. Hence I’m the greatest of all.
Mars: Oh! Come on you fellas, I have Aliens on me who are much smarter than your humans. Jupiter: Stop it! I am the biggest planet and I can crash all of you. Saturn: I am big enough too. And I have several rings around me. I’m more like a king of planets. Uranus: I’m a planet who might belong to the outer zone but I’m no less to anyone here. Neptune: Aye you guys!! Relax, be like me. I’m the coolest planet in our system. Listening to the planets argue this way, the sun interrupted saying,” Friends, none of you are greater or lesser in any manner. Why are you quarreling unnecessarily. Stop fighting! I’m the centre of our system and I declare that all of us are equal, we can’t function
without one another. We all are like one family. The planets agreed upon the Sun’s words and ended their quarrel and stayed together in harmony. PRADHYUMNA IV C2
OVERCOMING MY FEARS
It was raining cats and dogs last night and my parents had to go out to attend a function. I decided to stay back at home. Though I am not a couch potato, I thought it would be a nice opportunity for me to sit back relaxed and watch my favourite TV show.
So, after my parents left, I turned on the TV, tuned into my favourite channel and sat back to enjoy the show. Suddenly, the power went off. I was scared of staying alone in darkness and regretted not going with my parents. But, there was no use of
crying over spilt milk. I decided to go to my neighbour’s house, though she is a pain
in the neck sometimes. As I got to the door it hit me that my parents have locked the front door and there was no way I could go out. I sat back with tears rolling down my cheeks. I realized I had to face my fears and I sat there praying to God. Fortunately, the power came back and I thanked God for it. I forgot about my fear and enjoyed the TV show. When my parents returned, I had fallen asleep on the couch, they put me to bed and the next day morning I narrated the whole
happening to my parents. They were proud of me as I had learnt to handle my fears. KRITHI IV B1
A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED
Once upon a time, there lived two friends namely Champak and Chandan. Champak was as naughty as a monkey. He used to make fun of people and trouble them. He was famous as a couch potato. On the other hand, Chandan was an obedient boy

family moved to the country and they carried a strange disease with them. The disease soon began to spread all over the country and people couldn’t find any cure but to kill themselves to stop the disease from spreading.

to

Chandan
realize how he had changed from being a smart kid to a lazy boy. He stepped forward
and

for

TRUE BROTHERHOOD John and Tom were twin brothers who studied in the same school. John was a
very responsible boy and did his work on time. But, Tom was a lazy bone. Their parents used to wonder how different the two siblings were.
One day, as the boys were returning from school it started raining cats and dogs. They got drenched in rain and Tom was
under the weather. John was a tough cookie. John thought this was a golden opportunity to educate Tom about the importance of studies and physical fitness.
John made a hot cup of hot chocolate to cheer up Tom. Tom sprang up seeing his favourite drink and said ‘Though the rainy season is not my cup of tea , I go bananas
over this hot chocolate’. John advised Tom it was the right time to pull up his sock
and get more responsible. Tom agreed upon his brother’s words and turned over a
new leaf. He started doing his work on time and made himself physically fit too. John was happy to see this change in his brother.
