Ways To Do Hassle Free Room Booking At Shirdi Sai Baba lived and preached in Shirdi about 150 years ago. His preaching encouraged goodwill, patience, faith in the almighty and dedication. His followers visit this village from all parts of the world to take his blessings. It is situated in the Ahmadnagar district of Maharashtra about 250 kilometers North-East of Mumbai. Not many people are aware of the fact that everyday more than twenty five thousand devotees visit in Sai Dham Mandir from far off areas. Most of them return the same day still a sizable number stay back. The temple administration discourages the devotees from sleeping on the floor inside the temple premises. Those who have done room booking at Shirdi before coming here, go to their hotels but hundreds are still left to search a shelter for themselves. Given below are some options if you have not planned your stay beforehand. Way#1: If you are alone and have nowhere to go, Bhakta Niwas is the right place for you. There are dormitories and cubicles on twin sharing basis. There are different blocks of rooms for men and women. The management provides single bed with bedding and one can ask for extra pillows and quilts if needed. The bathrooms are attached with the dormitories and are well maintained. Way#2: If you have not done an advance room booking at Shirdi, you may have to go Nasik or Ahmadnagar in search of a hotel. Another option is to check with the hoteliers by calling their reception one by one. Most pilgrims reach Shirdi in the evening and go straight to the temple. The rush hours are from 8 am to 8 pm. If you wish to take some rest before standing in the queue, you can go to Lendi Bag in front of the Sai Dham temple premises. Way#3: If you are tired of searching for an eatery serving pure vegetarian delicacies in Shirdi, Bhojnalaya is the place for you. They serve Poori, Dal, Sabji, Boondi, Parantha, Roti, Rice, and Raita. Inside the Sai Dham Temple premises, Laddoo prasad is distributed after Aarti. In addition, devotees arrange Bhandara for the pilgrims where eatables are distributed free of cost. Way#4: The temple administration had provided drinking water coolers in the temple premises at several places and carrying water bottles inside the temple is prohibited. This is to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Packed water, tea biscuit, and snacks are available inside the Temple premises even while you are in a queue. Way#5: For the senior citizens, the Temple administration issues special passes during daytime. Those who have any kind of locomotive disabilities or handicap, they are provided moving aids like wheel chair, walker, sticks etc. These arrangements are made to ensure that the underprivileged get support to have Shri Sai Baba’s darshan. Way#6: If you are short of time, there is a provision for the VIP pass but it is limited to have Darshan only once in a day. To attend other ceremonies like Aarti, Abhishek, Bhajan-Kirtan, one must plan to stay in Shirdi for atleast one full day. Way#7: The devotees start lining up outside the temple gates as early as 5:00 am but Darshan begins after 6:00 am only. If you wish to visit the Temple in early morning, you must be there before 8:00 am because after that the crowd doubles up.
