Our programme has a clear structure whilst still being flexible enough to meet the identified needs and career aspirations of the intern.
đ&#x; ˘đ&#x; ˘ A ged between 18-24 years, at the start of the programme. đ&#x; ˘đ&#x; ˘ W ith a real desire to enter the world of work, preferably with some work experience gained whilst at school or college. đ&#x; ˘đ&#x; ˘ W ho is able to travel independently or be willing to train to become independent. đ&#x; ˘đ&#x; ˘ Who is able to study at a level 1. đ&#x; ˘đ&#x; ˘ C ommitted to behaving appropriately and following instructions in the workplace. Our programme extends beyond a full academic year from the beginning of September to the end of July, including the academic holidays. Interns are encouraged to book their annual leave in advance with the employer and the college like any other employee. The hours of work will vary depending upon the employer and the sector norms. This gives our interns a genuine experience of work How Raise works with local employers We work with several quality assured local employers from a whole variety of different sectors. We work closely with businesses to ensure that we have a strong, positive working relationship with them to support all our internship placements.
We work closely with our interns, so we can find out more about them and what they would like to achieve from the programme. We offer holistic, wrap around support around employment, education and learning, wellbeing and progression to independence. All our interns are required to attend Raise college at least one day a week which consists of a minimum of 5 hours of taught time, studying towards relevant qualifications, including Maths and English (where a Level 2 has not already been gained), independent living and wellbeing activities. The other days of the week, (the number will vary depending on the needs of the individual) are spent with the employer. Full support will be given by the Raise Job Mentor to ensure the intern can undertake the duties that the employer wishes them to do in a keen and confident manner. All workplaces are risk assessed and all carefully selected. All support is provided by Raise the Youth Foundation CIC and Raise Consultancy, Training and Support Ltd. We do not subcontract to other agencies. We do, however, work with partner organisations to support progression to positive destinations.
