Will Step Boldly into the Future
EXCITING NEWS: FOXCROFT’S CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN IS WITHIN $2 MILLION OF ITS $75 MILLION GOAL!
Begun just seven years ago in 2010, our Centennial Campaign is almost complete! This historic effort is designed to support our residential life program through the Residential Initiative and to strengthen our endowment, two important elements in the delivery of an exceptional Foxcroft experience.
Already, our students, faculty, and staff are enjoying the benefits brought by early gifts to the campaign. Support of the Residential Initiative has enabled us to build Stuart Hall and to undertake needed improvements and upgrades to our dormitories. New endowment funds have been created to address specific needs of the School, and restricted giving has brought about a new student van; carpeting, a roof, and skylights in the library; and The Innovation Lab, Foxcroft’s new makerspace. In addition, bequests and estate gifts have contributed to our Residential Initiative and grown our endowment.
We are 97% of the way to our Centennial Campaign goal, but we need your help to finish this campaign! We invite you to choose an aspect of your Foxcroft experience that is most important or meaningful to you and make a gift to support that facet of the School.
Your gift to one of Foxcroft’s endowment funds or our Residential Initiative not only will help complete the Centennial Campaign, it also will connect you in perpetuity to future generations of Foxcroft girls.
STEP BOLDLY WITH US. JOIN US WITH A GIFT TO THE CAMPAIGN.
BOLDLY ENSURING FOXCROFT’S FUTURE
If you think back to your time at Foxcroft, what had the most significant impact on who you are today? If you watch your daughter’s experience here, what has made the difference for her? Was it a teacher, a dorm parent, or coach? Was it Fox/Hound, an inspiring class, a role in the play, or maybe time spent at the barn?
Whatever that facet of Foxcroft is that warms your heart is the
aspect you can help preserve through an endowment gift to the Centennial Campaign.
In giving a gift to the endowment, you help to sustain what makes Foxcroft special. A strong endowment bolsters the financial foundation of the School. It makes the Foxcroft experience possible while also enabling the School to weather
economic fluctuations. It is the investment account which supports Foxcroft’s future.
An endowment gift to the area of the School that means the most to you allows your vision for our School to become, and remain, a reality.
THE POWER OF ENDOWMENT GIVING
Astrong endowment is integral to Foxcroft’s financial sustainability. You can make a gift designated to the area most important to you, create a permanent fund in honor or in memory of someone who has impacted your life, or include one of these areas in your estate plans. Every gift is important and makes a difference to our future.
GIVING TO WHAT YOU LOVE
GIVING TO WHERE THE NEED IS GREATEST GENERAL ENDOWMENT
Gifts to general endowment provide funding that is used to meet current priorities and address exciting new opportunities as determined by the Board of Trustees and the Head of School. Income from these gifts may be used wherever the need is greatest and allows the Head of School and Board of Trustees the latitude to address operational and infrastructure needs and to respond to unanticipated situations. Such funds provide a vital source of income in the strategic planning of budgets and programs.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE FACULTY AND STAFF BENEFITS
More than 100 faculty and staff members work passionately each day to ensure the School and its facilities are well taken care of and run smoothly. In a competitive marketplace, attracting and retaining those individuals — whether classroom teachers, administrators, maintenance workers, or housekeepers — who love to work with girls and take pride in what they do for the School, is challenging. This fund enables Foxcroft to offer competitive
benefits to our full-time employees, ensuring the School is able to continue to attract talented and dedicated faculty and staff.
SUPPORTING FACULTY EXCELLENCE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This endowment recognizes the critical importance of Foxcroft’s outstanding teachers and provides them with professional development opportunities so that they can bring innovation in their fields to the classroom and improve teaching strategies to further support our students. This fund increases opportunities for teachers to attend conferences and seminars, take graduate courses, complete specialized training, and present at national conferences.
SUPPORT THE CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN
In addition to the Residential Initiative, you may designate a gift to the following areas in the endowment:
General Endowment
Faculty and Staff Benefits
Professional Development Scholarships/Financial Aid Student Life Educational Program Support
Stephen L. Matthews Library Fund Athletics Riding Buildings and Grounds

ATTRACTING THE FINEST STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS/FINANCIAL AID
In order to attract talented students from diverse backgrounds, Foxcroft must increase its scholarship and financial aid funding so that qualified girls will be able to attend, regardless of their family’s financial resources. For the past several years, Foxcroft has worked to keep tuition at or below inflation in order to support our families and be good stewards of their investment. Gifts to this endowment ensure that we can offer needed financial support to incoming students.
ESTABLISHING AN ENDOWMENT FUND
Gifts of any amount can be added to unrestricted endowment or an existing named fund and can be made through an outright gift or as part of an estate plan. Establishing a new fund starts at $25,000, with the income from the fund supporting its purpose. Endowing a chair for a department such as math or history begins at $1 million, with the income from the fund supporting the salary and benefits of those who hold the endowed chair.
WE DO IS CURRICULUM”
STUDENT LIFE
At Foxcroft, each girl is known and valued for who she is. Gifts in support of this endowment help us to strengthen our residential program by providing students opportunities to develop leadership skills, responsibility, and understanding through School traditions, community service, trips, clubs, and fun weekend activities. Gifts to the Student Life endowment ensure that whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the dorms, each girl receives support in ways that make her feel embraced as an individual and that help shape her character.
A HEALTHY MIND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM SUPPORT
With 76 courses, including 16 Advanced Placement courses, in six disciplines as well as additional opportunities for independent study, online courses, and our new academic concentration program, Foxcroft offers a rigorous academic experience that challenges each girl to develop the analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills needed for her success in college and in life. Gifts to the Educational Program Support endowment help
create new courses, provide the latest classroom equipment and technology, and offer experiential learning opportunities.
HONORING A MASTER TEACHER
STEPHEN L. MATTHEWS LIBRARY ENDOWMENT FUND
To many, the Audrey Bruce Currier Library and former Librarian, Steve Matthews, who retired in 2016, are synonymous. Under Steve’s guidance, our library, which is at the heart of our community, has grown to house approximately 30,000 volumes, 26 online databases, 21,700 streaming videos, over 1,900 movies on DVD, and around 100 periodicals. This building is a communal hub for students and faculty alike as they gather for Morning Meeting, attend classes in our newly refurbished classrooms, or use library resources. Gifts to this endowment fund honor Steve Matthews’ 39 years of service to the School as a Master Teacher, mentor, advisor, and of course, our most devoted “Friend” of the Library.
“EVERYTHING
A HEALTHY BODY ATHLETICS
Foxcroft girls work hard and play hard. From the beginning, sports have played a vital role in each girl’s experience. The importance of sports is reflected in the School’s motto, Mens Sana in Corpore Sano, a healthy mind in a healthy body. Gifts to this endowment support our nine interscholastic teams, a variety of non-competitive athletic options such as yoga, cycling, and rock climbing, as well as our coaches, team travel, and more. Our athletic program is designed to build confidence, discipline, leadership, perseverance, teamwork, focus, and expertise.
SUPPORTING A SIGNATURE PROGRAM RIDING

MAINTAINING AND ENHANCING OUR UNCOMMONLY BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
Spanning 500 acres with 46 buildings, our campus is our largest asset. Gifts in support of our buildings and grounds are critically important to the long-term stewardship of our School.
