Joel Rao | Candidate AIVPIM 10-11 | Executive Summary Dear AIESECer, It is with great delight, humility and honor that I share with you some of my thoughts and questions about the common purpose that binds us all together in AIESEC “Virtually engaging the network” We need to question ourselves whether every member is living a unique AIESEC Experience every day enhanced by our information systems in place. Our membership is our greatest strength and AIESEC as an organization can only realize its true potential if every member of the organization is engaged and contributing to the organizational success!
“IM - Virtually Connecting the network”
Vision Are we being ambitious enough to making our systems perfect and enhancing it to make the new connections is a question I find my self seeking ananswer to ever so often? What defines our reach to members virtually? And who defines that for us? I see over a billion young people in the world and over 35000 of them are in AIESEC as a result of our virtual positioning externally. I see hundreds and thousands of organizations world wide and a few thousand that work with AIESEC on a virtual level. I picture our presence in over 100 countries and territories being streamlined by our evolving connections with the virtual environment. The greatest financial crisis in decades and I see an organization taking advantage of the cheap technology and cheap storage space. I see this opportunity! Improving on the existing systems and streamlining their processes will only take us one step closer to achieving the dream that we have. We need to realize that our external environment has improved tremendously and we only need to adapt. Decision‐making process in AIESEC needs to be faster so we can timely capitalize on external trends. The 2010 vision is not the future; it is what we are creating today. WE as members of AIESEC today have the responsibility to not only achieve 2010 and evolve it to 2015 but also inspire the organization to strive for impacting external organizations and get benchmarked for our systems and at the same time have members work effectively and efficiently as a result of our flawless systems. This is the challenge in front of us. We can either decide to continue living in the present reality and hoping for success in the future as we build on AIESEC 2015 or we can work together informatively and as one global organization, and create more networks as we evolve our connections.
