PLANNING CONFERENCE 2010 FIRST DELEGATES’ MAILER

Introduction


This year’s Planning conference will take place from May 27th to May 30th. AIESEC University of Nairobi was then given the task of organizing it this year as AIESEC Kenya usually gives the mandate to organize this conference to a different LC every year. It is mandatory for all incoming LCEB to attend. As the OC, we have an amazing conference in store for you all. We aim to beat the previous Planning Conferences and are working on various avenues to make it a legendary conference. We hope that this will be the perfect start to the incoming LCEB’s illustrious term and that the conference will lay the foundations for an LCEB that will take AIESEC Kenya to new heights.

Venue This year’s conference will be held at the luxurious Thuchi River Lodge in Embu, Kenya.

About Embu Embu is a large town in Kenya, located approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of Nairobi towards Mount Kenya. Embu serves as the provincial headquarters of Eastern Province in Kenya and is also the district headquarters of Embu District. Located on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya, the town of Embu has a population of 41,092 (as of 1999). Embu town is a major trading centre in Eastern Kenya. For a long time, it was the main economic center for the Aembu and the Ambeere sub tribes, as well as other groups of people in central Kenya. It has an elevation of 1350 metres (4429 feet). It was founded in 1906 by the British settlers The region has for long been known as having very conducive altitude and climate that produce highly superior human body system.


Thuchi River Lodge Thuchi River lodge is an exotic, deluxe hotel based in Embu. The site is ideal for the conference as it has excellent facilities and its calm and peaceful environment is perfect for intellectual discourse and meditation.

The venue contains excellent dining facilities that serve mouthwatering dishes. The hotel catering is able to feed over 100 people without diminish in food quality.

There is also a fully stocked bar with drinks at reduced prices.

The rooms are clean and very spacious


And when you feel like you can’t take the heat from the sessions

So, ensure you carry with you your swimming gear.
