uring this time of the year, we are regularly asked by students and families one main question: Why Ramapo? For us, it is simple: Ramapo is a place where students are names and not numbers. For decades, Ramapo College has delivered on its promise to provide students with: · A high quality undergraduate education; · A small environment that fosters close relationships; · Faculty that not only teach, but mentor students; · A foundation for a lifetime of success; · Hands-on learning that prepares students for their future; All of this, at the value of a public college price tag

mall class sizes, engaged professors, well-equipped classrooms, and a residential campus community in the foothills of the Ramapo mountains all create an environment that allows students from many backgrounds to study, explore new interests, and create lifetime connections. They also find a setting that is ideal for creating and enriching connections; Ramapo College is both close to home and close to the world. Students can as easily go to a Broadway show as to an internship at a Fortune 500 company, and many can also go home to see family and old friends. The hillside campus is set apart without being cloistered; it really is the best of both worlds.

Ramapo College has received numerous awards and accolades: • Ramapo has been named among the top three (after Princeton and Stevens Institute of Technology) and Number One among the public institutions in New Jersey in College Choice’s ranking for 2017-2018. • This is the 11th consecutive year Ramapo College is listed in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine as among the “100 Best Values in Public Colleges.” • Ranked annually by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Regional Public Universities North category

CAMPUS & CAMPUS LIFE

A CAMPUS OF TOMORROW

At Ramapo, we are always evolving. This is most evident in our commitment to maintaining the highest quality campus facilities. • With the help of a $15 million grant from the State of New Jersey, the College plans to begin renovations to its 40-year-old Potter Library and the construction of a Learning Commons. The project, with a 2019 anticipated completion date, coinciding with Ramapo’s 50th Anniversary, promises to yield a thoughtful, exciting and high-use space, enhancing group study and meeting rooms, gathering, study spaces and library collections, as well as classroom/multipurpose space for our students, staff and faculty. • A $54 million renovation to the schools of Theoretical and Applied Science and Social Science and Human Services provides students with labs and state-of-the-art equipment for research. • The recently built Adler Center for Nursing Excellence provides stateof-the-art labs, simulation labs and a cafe to enhance the education and community spirit of all science students. • The Anisfield School of Business Global Financial Markets Trading Lab, with its real-time stock ticker, provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the financial market.

SUCCESS BEYOND RAMAPO

W

hatever field your child enters, Ramapo will give them a bright future. For nearly 50 years, Ramapo has launched graduates who know how to adapt to changing conditions, reach across cultural boundaries to build a stronger organization, help people develop creative solutions to staffing and budgeting challenges, and discover critical thinking skills. They know how to roll up their sleeves and get to work. In health care, business, the arts, humanities, social work, human services, and the sciences—in careers and in graduate school—Ramapo graduates succeed.

“Ramapo makes sure its students are comfortable. The professors are caring and qualified—my three children benefited from the small, personalized classrooms. You aren’t just a number—you really get to know your professors and fellow classmates. And the most important thing, Ramapo produces results. My oldest child is finishing up his first year of residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, and it all started with Ramapo.” Pamela Dobrin Mother of Keith Dobrin ’09, Carly Dobrin ’11, and Kelli Dobrin ’13

“Ramapo was the perfect fit for my son—a place where he could perform in shows, run a club, help bring entertainment to campus—just a place where he could explore. He now has lifelong friends that are all actively involved in each other’s lives—playing in each other’s bands, for one—and are all incredibly impressive young men. But the important thing is they are all busy doing what they wanted to do. I couldn’t have asked for more in terms of my son’s education.” Ann Nieporent Mother of Andrew Nieporent ’10

“Ramapo has provided an exceptional education by providing a high quality academic and social experience at a very reasonable cost. The faculty and very attractive location contribute significantly to the overall value. As a result of her involvement with Ramapo—including her work with underprivileged children—our daughter has matured both academically and socially.” John Englishman Father of Tiffany Englishman ’13
