Located less than 5 minutes north of the small town of Edgar (population 114), Montana, and 16 miles south of the town of Laurel (population 6,791) Montana, the ranch is in close proximity to convenience stores, restaurants, shopping, hospitals, and schools.

River Bend Ranch is conveniently located 35± miles south of Montana’s largest city, Billings (2014 population 108,869±), a south-centrally located city that offers a commercial airport, university, and tremendous growth opportunities. Ranked as one of the 100 most livable cities in the U.S., Billings is the seat of Yellowstone County and is currently experiencing rapid growth. Boasting the largest actual growth of any city in Montana, Billings is also ranked nationally as the 60th “fastest growing city” among 272 U.S. cities with populations over 100,000. Founded as a railroad town in 1882, Billings is named after Frederick H. Billings, the former president of Northern Pacific Railroad, and quickly earned the nickname “Magic City” in response to the sudden boom in population. Currently one of the largest trade areas in the United States, Billings is the trade distribution and retail center for most of Montana, Northern Wyoming, and western portions of North and South Dakota. With more hotel accommodations than any area within the surrounding five-state region, the city hosts various conventions, concerts, sporting competitions, and other events. Billings is also home to a thriving medical corridor with the best medical facilities within a 500-mile radius.

Red Lodge (population 2,286) sits 36± miles south of River Bend Ranch; the starting point for what is arguably the most beautiful drive in America - the 69-mile Beartooth Highway reaches a height of almost 11,000 feet as it climbs through the Beartooth Mountains to Yellowstone National Park.

Red Lodge, Montana, is located at the northern edge of the “Greater Yellowstone” region and offers easy access to a diversity of landscapes and recreational opportunities. Nestled in a valley carved by glaciation and the swift waters of Rock Creek, this charming alpine town sits at 5,555± feet elevation in the foothills of the magnificent Beartooth Mountains, surrounded by the Custer National Forest. The primary industry in the Red Lodge area consists of ranching with an increasing recreational focus. Red Lodge Mountain, one of Montana’s best ski areas, is just 45± minutes from the property and offers 2400± vertical feet of terrain served by six chairlifts and one of the largest snowmaking systems in the west. Fortunately, with very few exceptions, the lands adjoining the National Forest boundary along the Beartooth Front have remained in quite strong hands, and there has been little development.
