Bulls are fertility tested, guaranteed to be breeders and evaluated for soundness and disposition.

FIRST -YEAR GUARANTEE

1. Full coverage for 6 mos. from date of purchase

- Broken penis in single a sire pasture

2. 50% Coverage Purchase Price

- Broken penis and/or penis injury on multisire pastures

- Broken Leg, Stifle, etc.

- Exceptions include: foot rot, wire cuts, illness, items out of Raile’s control.

Any reproductive injuries need to be examined by a veterinarian within 48 hours of injury. Quick treatment can cure many problems. Injuries not check and treated promptly will not qualify for 50% coverage. A letter from your vet will be requested. All guarantees will be covered by a satisfactory bull replacement, if available, or credit on a future bull purchase for the amount covered. Reminder - you keep the salvage value.

SEMEN INTEREST

We reserve a 1/3 semen interest in all bulls selling. Bulls we plan to collect prior to delivery are indicated in the catalog or will be announced on sale day.

TRUCKING

Trucking will be provided by Raile’s to central points within a 300 mile radius. Reasonable fee for over 300 miles. Take home credit of $75/bull if picked up on sale day or Tuesday, April 9, at the sale site. Pick-up credit is on bulls only.

REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES

All lots being sold are registered with the American Intl. Charolais Association or American Red Angus Association, unless otherwise stated.

HEALTH

Individual health certificates will be provided on each lot. All cattle will be tested for BVD.

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

Additional performance information will be available sale day and on our website, www.railebeef. com. In the performance data we have included weight per day of age (WPDA) and ratios, rather than average daily gain. We feel this is a more accurate measure as it includes the entire life of the calf.

We welcome you to our 35th Annual Production Sale. It’s hard to believe it is time for another production sale. Weather wise, we are a lot better off than we were one year ago. There are still some very dry spots in the area. Our cows had some limited green grass to eat this summer.

Our breeding philosophy focuses on the female while keeping traits in balance by using the most advanced tools for genetic progress. Our offering is full of very structurally sound and easy doing cattle. We pride ourselves in the disposition of our Charolais herd. Our cow herd is built on traits propagating longevity. For years we have emphasized developing from the ground up. We expect our stock to provide you with animals that survive and thrive in the natural elements for years to come.

This year we have added a few more hybrid bulls. Customers tell us that they work very well with any cow and are very satisfied with the results. The 2-year-old bulls are an excellent group of older bulls.

— Outstanding bull! Extra long with exceptional muscling throughout. Extremely thick, strong topline and deep rib cage. One of the deepest in the sale. Big yearling weight with very good growth and marbling EPDs. This bull has really developed since we took yearling weights in early February.

— One of my favorites since birth. Lots of growth, style, body shape and muscle. Has good growth and muscle EPDs.

— Top EPDs for birth, growth and milk. TSI top 15%. Note low birth weight EPD of -3.8. This bull needs a little more room. He may be fine come sale day.

Through experience over the years, we feel that WPDA is the best way to evaluate performance. It covers all growth stages, not just the milk production of the dam. We do not push our bulls very hard, and some will still gain 3.5 – 4 pounds per day. These bulls are not fat and will not melt away when they go to pasture. Longevity is bred in. These bulls should last for many years. If not, let us know. Rememberwe do the work and develop breeding stock for YOU, our customers.

— One of the best bulls in the sale! Ranks 1 for weaning and 3 for WPDA within its group. Has top ratios to back up his WW and YW EPDs. Note milk is 34 (top 6%). If you need extra milk, his daughters should really produce. Dam (F861) has a WW ratio of 113 and a YW ratio of 107 on four calves. Lot 7 could be herd bull potential. As a group, the H211 offspring are very easy to calve.

— Another long, strong topped, heavy muscled bull. Dam is a daughter of Sovereign J827 Y064. ABS is still selling semen out of the Sovereign bull.

—L072 spent the summer at the ET center with his dam and was not developed and weaned with his contemporaries. Despite his developmen his EPDs rank in the top 20% WW, top 6% YW, top 15% milk and TSI of top 7%. He also ratioed a 116 WW and 110 YW. His dam, a daughter of the Z245 cow, is one of the best cows in our herd for quality and performance.

Each of these lots are all very smooth, long made, easy calving bulls with good muscling. As stated before, the H211 sire are born very easily.

— Outstanding individual performance with excellent EPDs of top 10-15% BW, WW and YW. Top 35% Marbling. Very outstanding structure and extra thick, high-quality bull. These 0294 bulls as a group are some of the longest bulls we’ve ever raised with strong toplines. They have more of a long muscle with great flexibility. Growth rate has been good on these bulls. — One of the best and most attractive bulls in the sale. Extra long with lots of muscling through the hip and hind quarter. Lots of rib shape that carries deep and back through the flank. Excellent structure and strides out well. One of the top performing bulls with WPDA of 3.40 to ratio 109. Lot 21 has EPDs of top 15% YW, top 35% marbling and 10% TSI. His dam has yearling ratio for daily gain of 115 on six calves. This bull is unique in many areas of production, structural soundness, quality and carcass traits.

— Another long, heavy muscled bull with a very deep rib cage. His dam has produced many top end bulls and heifers. Her EPDs rank top 9% WW, top 20% YW, top 30% Milk and top 7% REA and Marbling. Note the EPDs for L022 are also near the top in the breed and he has a WW ratio of 120 and YW ratio of 109!

— Lot 23 is out of the most performance producing dam and granddam in the herd. Tremendous performance bred into this bull. Note yearling EPD top 8%, milk top 1% and TSI of 8%. This bull has the highest wean and yearling WPDA ratios in his group. Lots of thickness in the back and hip that carries down to a thick bulging rear quarter.

— This bull is registered as a ¾ but is actually a purebred. The previous sire (U116) was reported incorrectly when his granddam was registered. He is an outstanding bull with similar type performance and thickness as the other F044 sons.

— B189, the dam of Lot 25, is another top performer in our herd. With a WW and YW ratio of 117 and 114. Growth EPDs of top 8%. Very long and thick muscled bull.

— This bull was a bucket calf. He was picked on quite a bit by the other bulls. Therefore, his performance is down. Since January, the other bulls left him alone and he has performed quite well.

THE HYBRID YEARLING BULLS

These bulls will work on any cows. They will add lots of hybrid vigor to your calves and increase the feedlot gain and carcass quality of their offspring. Customers have been very satisfied using these hybrid bulls on red or black hided cows.

Lot 40 through Lot 41 are sired by our FINK 0336 sire. They are smaller framed, but are very high quality, thick, wide sprung, deep chested bulls with similar performance.

— Excellent bull but he needs a little more room. He was a little more nervous when taking pictures and videos, but we can almost scratch his back when walking in the pen.

Lots 44-47 are similar. They are thick, larger framed bulls with excellent length and depth of body. Structurally very correct and move very freely. Should be able to cover lots of cows in the pasture.

— Good bull with similar frame as Lots 40-42. One of the smallest birth weight bulls in the group. According to dam’s pedigree, I would recommend this bull on heifers.

—Purebred Charolais. He was sold last year at our sale. The purchaser lost his grass and did not need him, so the bull never left the farm. He’s a very good, thick made bull.

EXCEPTIONAL disposition on all these bulls! These bulls are very structurally correct and sound. They ran in a pasture until January and then were fed in a large pen. These bulls are not fat and should really cover the cows.

— This is the largest 2-year-old bull in the group with only an 86-pound BW. He is quite a stud. He has scurs and is out of a great old Red Angus cow.

Lots 60-64 are ½ Charolais and ½ Red Angus. Lots 60, 61, 62 and 63 are very similar in type with a moderate frame. Lot 64 is a little larger framed.

THE HYBRID YEARLING HEIFFERS

Each of the hybrid heifers have respectable and good weaning weights and should make good cows.
