Welcome fellow Cattlemen & Women to the 2nd Annual Bull Sale here at the Sleepy Eye Auction Market!

We are a family-owned business that has been working for our customers for over 75 years. Before this sale came about, we had local producers asking us where they could get good breeding bulls. So instead of sending them in a bunch of different directions, we decided to bring the bulls to them. We put our heads together looking for local breeders that had top quality bulls and would be interested in working with us to put on an event like this. We found three excellent families! These are local, hardworking families, doing their best to bring the best genetics and performance to their breeds. They firmly believe in the livestock they produce and stand behind them! These bulls will definitely speak for themselves. They would be a great addition to any herd looking to improve on their genetics and produce top quality cattle.

The Sleepy Eye Auction Market is offering a 50% reduction of the commission of your feeder calves sold through the sale barn if you purchase a bull through the auction. This will only apply to calves born and raised the year the bull was purchased.

We would also like the opportunity to work for you. We are offering half off the commission for one year on the feeder calves you sell through the barn if you purchase a bull through our bull sale. We have weekly sales every Wednesday starting at 10:30am. Our feeder sales are the 3rd Wednesday each month April through October. Starting in November we host our feeder sales on the 3rd Saturday each month through March. We also have hay sales the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month, year-round, starting at 9am. We have reliable truckers available to help cover any of your trucking needs for both livestock and hay or bedding.

• This sale is a timed event and all bidding happens online at DVAuction.com

• The sale will be listed on the DVAuction homepage under the heading “Upcoming Timed Events”

• On sale day, bidding will open at noon with a starting price for each lot. You can start bidding at this time.

• Bids will begin to close at 6 pm. If a bid is placed within 5 minutes, the sale will extend for another 5 minutes. This continues until no bids are placed for 5 minutes. Then the sale is closed. All lots close at the same time.

Guarantee: All bulls selling are guaranteed to be in good health and are guaranteed to be sound breeders. All bulls selling are guaranteed against breeding injury during the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turnout of the bull. If an adequate replacement is available, one will be provided, or if the buyer prefers, credit will be given in the following year’s sale, less salvage value. Please notify the seller as soon as possible should an injury occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian with a copy sent to the seller. Death of the bull is not covered and the purchase of livestock mortality insurance to mitigate this type of loss is recommended.

Absentee/Online Bidding: Bidding will be online via DV Auction. If you are unable to access DV, please contact the seller(s) or Sleepy Eye Auction Market.

Volume Discounts: 2% - 2 bulls, 3% - 3 bulls, 4% - 4 bulls, 5% - 5 or more.

Heard Health: Cattle all follow a veterinarian recommended protocol from birth to current day. The aged bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam. Yearling bulls will be examined prior to May 1 and sell guaranteed to pass. Health papers will be available. International health papers will be at the buyer’s expense.

Liability: All persons who attend do so at their own risk, legal or otherwise, for the safety of the animals. The owners assume no liabilities for property loss or any accidents that occur.

We welcome all new and returning customers to this year’s bull sale. The current cattle market has people excited and we are thrilled to offer our best set of bulls to date.

We are a small family farm in Southwest Minnesota that focuses on raising high quality genetics, backed by performance data and proven pedigrees. All the bulls in this year’s offering are sired through extensive AI or embryo transfer. At Bever Angus we strive to produce bulls that are calm in their disposition, good footed, structurally sound with big testicles, sire big calves at weaning in a sustainable package and express good carcass traits. The bulls have been developed on a high roughage TMR diet, developed by J&R Distributing of Lake Norden, SD, to ensure longevity.

For those new to our program, we started our journey in 2001 with a pair of heifers. Today we run a herd of 70 spring calving registered Herefords in Comfrey, MN. The herd is managed by Brandon & Jody Anderson along with Jody’s parents, Jim & Jeri Hanson. For our returning customers, welcome back! We’ve worked hard over the past several years to add genetics that push our herd forward in carcass traits while maintaining maternal foundation. We added 308 & 79H 3 years ago & have their first daughters calving this year and couldn’t be happier! You’ll notice most of the dams of this offering are 5 or younger which we feel is a testimate to the progress we’ve made in recent years. We want to ensure your investment has longevity, so the bulls are not pushed to gain at rapid rates.
