BRC BULLS: Gentle and Ready to Go To Work for You.

ALL BULLS SELL WITH 100% OWNERSHIP AND POSSESSION. NO RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS.

Full ownership will be transferred to you within the American Brahman Breeders Association. Once you own them, they are yours to do as you wish, including collecting or selling semen.

WORKING CONDITIONS

We pride ourself in gentle, easy to handle bulls. These bulls are typically worked on our side-by-side ATV, or on foot.

HERD HEALTH AND BULL DEVELOPMENT

Within 24 hours of birth –Every bull is weighed and tagged with sire, dam, and individual ID number.

3-4 Months old – Bulls are dehorned if needed, vaccinated with Calvary 9 focusing on Blackleg, and dewormed using Valbazen.

6-8 Months old – Bulls are branded, weaning weights collected, assigned a disposition score, vaccinated again with Calvary 9, and given Enforce 3 as a respiratory vaccination. Once weaned, bulls are swapped from Purina Accuration LW that was used as creep feed to Purina’s Blue Impact starter ration. The bulls are fed this high roughage ration for two weeks to combat the stress of weaning.

8-12 Months old- Bulls enter the BRC Bull Development Program and are developed on Purina

Accuration Limiter #2 until 12 months. During this time bulls are dewormed. During this period bulls are continually evaluated on quality, soundness, and disposition. At 12 months yearling weights are collected, disposition scores assigned again, and ultrasound data collected. Culling decisions may be made at this time.

12 Months to sale time –Bulls are moved to Purina Accuration

Limiter #3 that restricts feed intake, and turned out on to Bermuda grass to condition the bulls for service. Deworming protocol is maintained every 90 days. Breeding soundness exams are given starting at 18 months. All bulls have been fertility tested and are ready to turnout.

FIRST BREEDING SEASON

These bulls will range in age from 19 to 22 months old. They have been developed in a way as to handle pasture conditions better than most bulls. However, we ask that you take special consideration because they still have some teeth to loose and some growing to do. Until they reach full 2 year old age, a light load of no more than 15 cows is recommended. Once they hit 24 months, you can add more cows to his breeding herd.

• One of the first sons to sell by Republic of Texas 36 “Tejano” who is one of our best selling sires of the spring 2024 season. Tejano is a powerhouse, deep red Noble son out of a 380 daughter. The dam of this female was one of the first BRC branded females. In the early stages of BRC, we were offered $100k for this scurred female for her potential as a polled / scurred donor but opted to keep her in the herd, and she hasn’t disappointed us. She is a direct daughter of the legendary 797 female and a full sister to BRC Independence 22 herd sire.

BRAHMAN COUNTRY BEEF: How our beef program benefits our bull sales.

In 2019, we created the USA’s first 100% purebred Brahman USDA-certified beef program – Brahman Country Beef. Today, we proudly ship our premium Brahman beef nationwide on a weekly basis. The demand for Brahman beef has been so exceptional that in May 2022, we also opened The Ranch Downtown, a Brahman beef store in Wharton, Texas.

When we started our beef business, many questioned how a purebred Brahman ranch could produce beef with the marbling required for a premium beef brand. It wasn’t easy, but we were up for the task. We figured, we’re perhaps the most dedicated Brahman couple in the world, and we better step up if we wanted to see Brahman stay a relevant beef breed in the next few decades. We began with carcass ultrasound measurements and carefully selected cattle that displayed excellent marbling traits. Once we achieved consistent Choice-grade quality, we launched our beef brand. Today, our thriving beef business is known for highly marbled, heart-healthy Brahman beef.

Easy. It means better bulls for you, our customers. Prior to starting the beef program, Brandon Cutrer was already known as the “ruthless culler” because he doesn’t tolerate problem bulls. But, by developing our beef business, we’ve gotten even stricter.

By developing a premium national farm-to-table beef brand, we’re actually able to clear as much profit from putting a bull into our steer program as we would by selling him in our lowest priced sale pen. So, we don’t have the financial pressure that other ranches have of trying to pawn off lower quality bulls trying to make ends meet. Or should we say “meat?” lol. If a bull gives us ANY bit of concern, he goes into our steer program. It’s that simple.
