The Best of BRC!

This female combines all the hottest bloodlines at BRC - Captain x Boom Shaka Laka - making Ella Bella Boom a half sister to our recent greats like Dutton, Boombox, Boomtown, and more! She’s also a maternal half sister to the 2020 Houston Grand Champion Female. And, she is a 3/4 sib to the young star BRC Lady Glitter Sparkle (Calf Champion at the Kickoff) and her sister BRC Katie Bar the Door whos’ maybe even better. If you’ve been craving a daughter of Boom, and love the Captain genetics, then this one is sure to get your motor going.

Show Ring look, Real World Body Type

Boom

Early visitors to the ranch have been MORE than impressed with Ella Bella Boom’s quality and super gentle disposition. They all observe the show stopping look of this beauty while she lets you scratch all over her standing in the middle of the pasture. She’s great structured, deep bodied, easy fleshing, and very feminine which is why we expect great things for her.

Numbers & Breeding Potential

Very few daughters of Boom Shaka Laka are ever sold. Ella Bella charts in the top 15% or better for every growth and carcass traits. That’s VERY hard to do, and it’s ESPECIALLY RARE for it to come with her elite phenotype. Here is your chance to immediately improve your herd, and make major genetic strides immediately.

Y’all ready for this?

If you thought Lot 1 was cool, you’re gonna like this one even better! Selling two great full sisters here with a stunning look, great pedigree, and very solid performance. Most people drool over a mating of Noble x 380 mating because of how many successful cattle have been bred that way. The dam, 507/7, is a female we purchased on the Southern deal and she was a division champion at Houston, and a full sister to the former National Champion 293/8 and a maternal sib to the 3-time International Champion 146/8. Pretty dang solid.

BRC Republic of Texas 36 “El Tejano” Full brother to Lots 2A and 2B.

These females are also full sisters to the wildly popular BRC Republic of Texas 36 “El Tejano” bull that we own with Santa Cruz Ranch. That bull is a global favorite! These are also full sisters to one hot dude we have coming into the show barn- BRC Checks in the Mail 188.

The Back and forth....

Whenever we sell full sisters everyone gets talking about which is the best, and why they like one over the other. These heifers are phenotypically different but both have lots of goodness.

BW Noble calves have probably won more than any sire group in recent years. We really think our 507 calves have a tremendous look, extra bone, and moderate frame. So, Lot 2, Darlin’ 160 is a powerful, extremely high capacity female, with a lot of balance and quality. We expect 160 to make a great show heifer, and a useful mating tool in even the highest level of cow herds. Lot 3, Gypsy 163 came off one of our worst milking recips of the herd (ugh!), but once she was weaned she caught another gear and really started putting it on. She offers a very feminine, attractive look, excellent feet and legs, and continues to get stouter and more powerful every day. We think of Gypsy as a high end brood cow prospect and expect her to only continue to get better.

Rarely do females of this quality come along. These females are ones that can take a program to another level. Look, pedigree, performance numbers through the roof, gentle, and carcass quality! These heifers have one of the most elite EPD profiles to be offered this year. Top 1% for WW, YW, DOC., TEND, CW, and $Bull, yet still top 5% or better for TM, MARB, REA, and the $Queen index. A huge opportunity to invest in some of the best. These females are the Modern American Brahman.

You can’t help but like her

Just one look and so many good things jump out about this female. She’s the total package. Look at that gorgeous head, strong hump, straight top, substance of bone, depth, length, pigment, moderate size, look. This was the goal when BRC and Garrett Cattle Company teamed up as collaborator herds. We wanted to take that all around quality that built the Garrett herd and add a little “look” from our program to make the “super modern American Brahman.’ And man, is it working. Our last collaborator offering from BRC / GCC sold in our May sale to esteemed Mexican cattleman Hernando Guerra. That was a huge honor for our program!

Never before has a genetic combination like 170 been offered to the public. Blending Dutton with the ultra functional Garrett Cattle, and you get a real world blend of function and class. The mating possibilities are endless on this female because on the bottom side of her pedigree she is an outcross to 99% of cattle in the breed. Numerically, she is in the 10% or better for TEND and YG, while being in the top 20% or better for SC, DOC, and FT. This heifer is exactly what we had in mind when we began our collaboration, and both parties involved are very proud of this heifer and see her making a huge impact moving forward.

M2 BRC Captain 518/1, the sold-out AI sire that will easily be one of the most widely used Brahman bulls at a global level from 2020-2021. Top breeders focused on functional, modern Brahmans love Captain.

Dam, Miss V8 901/7 is a rare direct daughter of the old great cow, +Miss V8 663/6. There are very few daughters of this cow, and we are proud to have 4 of her direct daughters in production between the Wichita and BRC programs, strategically giving us the highest concentration of the 663 bloodline of the entire breed. She’s one of our all time favorites from the Claydesta cow family line.

We go kinda geeky over this bloodline!

When Brandon, Rachel, Steve, Nancy, Elle, Mollie and Annie get together, it never fails that we get to talking about great cattle and great horses. We get pretty nerdy. And this particular mating is one that gets all of our blood pumping. Captain, born and raised at Wichita Ranch, is one of those “bulls of a lifetime” that has been a sheer pleasure to own together. Every Captain calf we have gets us excited. But, we all also go crazy over this cow family: 663 and Claydesta. The 663 cow is one of the most gorgeous 901 daughters ever to be bred and we have strategically concentrated on her genetics, like V8 901/7, the dam of Lot 5.

Ring Look, Real World Body Type

Breeding heifers like 162 is the goal: functional, easy fleshing, with the look, power, and overall quality it takes to not only stand out in the showring and make a productive brood cow with tremendous upside.

Numbers and Breeding Potential

We love it when good cattle have the performance and data to back up their elite phenotype and 162 certainly fits that description. Great weaning and yearling weight figures, AND she offers her new owner an opportunity to really improve some carcass in their herd. Throw in her actual birth weight in the 70’s, and you’ve got a useful tool to make real world cattle that fit multiple production goals.

Mollie’s Mr. V8 968/7, sire of “Goldie” is a former Houston Division Champion Bull and sire of champions. He’s super gentle, moderate framed, and loaded with muscle.

Because Williams Ranch knows how to raise ‘em! This female comes to us from one of our top collaborating herds: Williams Ranch at Turkey Creek. In our last sale, they bred “City Girl” who sold to the Selden family and Kevin’s calves from the spring crop blew us away! Every calf at Williams’ Ranch is super uniform, gentle, and high quality! When she joined her counterparts of the calf crop at BRC, she definitely emerged as a star.

What people like and why...

Folks that have stopped by have been very complimentary of the look, bone, stoutness, and overall quality of 139. Through our many visits and business dealings we have always thought of Kevin as an incredible person and elite level stockman who takes care of cattle as good as anybody, and this heifer is no different. Gentle, easy fleshing, well built, and in great shape. Definitely a prospect to be proud of.

Some of the influential individuals in her pedigree are certainly attention grabbing. On the sire side, not only do we have the legends Noble and Jennessa. But on her dam side, you’ve got a National Champion Cow (626), by a Reserve Houston Champion Bull (191). And, it’s not printed but one step behind 626 is Dadaw’s old favorite, +JDH Water Manso 239, a great Liberty daughter. Greatness here.

Collaborators and Friends

Great things are rarely accomplished by an individual. They’re usually accomplished by a team! In this catalog you will see bloodlines from some of our collaborators and friends. These are programs who’s vision, ethics, and management practices align very closely with ours. We work together in an open network of sharing herd bulls, genetics, sharing goals, and sharing our love of ranching! It’s an honor to work with these great families!

Wichita Ranch, Brenham, Texas

Elle Martin, Mollie Cutrer, Annie Cutrer - Three top Brahman breeders!

We are very proud to have an ongoing friendship and collaboration with Steve, Nancy and Elle Martin for over a decade. Through the years, we have owned several cattle together, starting with 694, who was the Reserve National Champion in 2013. The great bull, Captain, was born and raised at Wichita Ranch and the Martin’s very graciously allowed us to become partners with them on this legend. We are both very proud of our children, and their love of ranching. I think one of the keys to our strong friendship is that both of us are working hard to share a lifetime love of ranching with our families. These dreams are more than just owning cattle. They’re a means of using land, animals, and passion to make exceptional memories and build your own family’s legacy for generations to come. Thank you Steve, Nancy and Elle for sharing your great Brahman cattle with us! Follow them @wichitaranchbrenham and be sure to check out their amazing horses and business South Texas Tack too!

Williams Ranch @ Turkey Creek, Sugarland, Texas

Brandon & Rachel Cutrer with good friends Ursula and Kevin Williams

Ranchers in the greater Houston area, Kevin and Ursula Williams have taken their business-sense, and servant’s heart, and applied their principles of focus, dedication, and integrity to their ranching business and it’s been a success. The Williams Ranch program does everything right. The cattle are handled great, managed great, fed great, focused on fertility, and focused on functionality. Great udders, super gentle. For the last few years, we have collaborated together in sharing herd bulls like 194, Boomtown, 968, 542, and Independence 22. Kevin and Ursula are huge role models for many first-generation ranchers because they have built a tremendous program, and they are happy to share their advice or experiences with others. They are truly “great people, raising great cattle.” Follow them on Instagram @williamsranchtc for some really amazing pictures too.

Garrett Cattle Co., Danbury, Texas

Kara and Garrett Harvey family with grandpa Jacko Garrett.

39 miles away from Boling, Texas, you’ll find the treasure of Garrett Cattle Company. And, anytime there’s a free afternoon, Keaton and Brandon will say “Hey let’s ride down to Garretts and see his calves!” This is a friendship we hold very dear. In winter 2019, we created what we call a “super collaborator” project with Garrett Harvey. But, we go “way back” as they say. Garrett’s great grandpa JT Garrett hired a young Sloan Williams (Rachel’s Dadaw) as part of his working crew ‘back in the day.” Dadaw shared many many fond memories from his friendship with the Garrett family, and through the years also purchased many females through the years from Jacko and Nancy Garrett for his private herd. Now, the ‘next generation’ has team up. We own Dutton together and work together in many capacities. It is a true joy to breed cattle together, and cherish the traditions and the work done by our heroes like Garrett’s PawPaw and Rachel’s Dadaw - who put both of us where we are today.
