5W Cattle Co. We would like to sincerely thank the MAS members for the invitation to become a part of this great event!! We consider it an honor and privilege to be among great cattle, but more importantly, great families! Ours is a true family operation, as it is all five of us, thus our ranch name. We are Ron, Rhonda, Maycie, Hunter and Hannah Wells We began breeding Simbrah cattle in 2005, with our Matriarch cow, LMC Destiny, LMC Precious and LMC Texas Belle, and then adding our herdsires, ZZ Guapo, RSUN Cowboy Casanova and J7N This heifer was raised in the 5W Cattle Co. program Baring Waverider. We are very pleased with the production, profitabili- and was recently the $ellabration Reserve Grand Champion for our son Hunter. ty and maternal correctness they have put in our pastures. With the heat conditions, high humidity and extreme drought conditions, these cattle continue to perform at a high level. We are also pleased and thankful for our successes in the show ring. We believe that the Simbrah breed has the best junior program among all breeds. A program that not only teaches future generations of Simbrah breeders about the breed and being a better showman, but also teaches life lessons to help them succeed in any endeavor throughout their lives. It has been extremely beneficial to our kids, as well as many others! Being around and getting to know so many leaders and self motivators within the breed has encouraged us and kept us motivated to continue to sponsor our annual 5W Cattle Company Field Day in September, in an attempt to help motivate our future leaders. We plan to continue to breed and offer our best cattle. We are confident in the quality of cattle we are continuing to produce and invite you to come take a look.
La Morra Cattle Company Unlike many successful cattle operations that are generations old, La Morra Cattle Company has only been in existence since 2001. We began this business as a personal challenge to ourselves, venturing out into a totally new experience. We educated ourselves on cattle by paying attention to Simbrah breeders at stock shows and listening in on cattle discussions. A bit of history, I was raised in Mathis, Texas, a small farming community approximately 30 miles north of Corpus Christi. I attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville (yes I still call it A&I) and this is where I met my wife, Nelda. During my college years, I started officiating basketball to make ends meet. Long story short, I officiated basketball for 28 years. After all those years of running up and down the basketball court, I knew that my officiating career would end. My dilemma was what I was going to do with my free time. In comes my brother-in-law, Fred Moreno, La Negra Cattle Co.. Fred J7N What A Delight, a product of our program and married my wife’s younger sister, Dina, thus this became my cattle connection. Believe me, I didn’t out of our matriarch M9. have any knowledge of raising cattle, but the whole idea intrigued me. I had always been involved in competitive sports so I thought I would try the challenge of creating, raising and competing in the Simbrah breed and cattle shows. The rest is history. The biggest and best cattle decision we have made was the decision to purchase LMC Knockout Muneca 5 M/9 at MAS II. Understanding that cow power is just as important as bull power and our commitment to produce quality and competitive cattle, we decided that M9 was going to be the matriarch of our herd. Of course, in this business, nothing is a sure thing but she did not disappoint us. M9 is definitely a MAJOR asset in our cattle program. M9’s progeny has been a major contributor to SIMBRAH’s success of late. First of all, off-springs from LMC Oprah (M9’s daughter), LMC Diva and LMC WFC Dream Girl have been just as competitive as any other cow family in the breed and off-springs have sold for record amounts. In 2010, M9 produced the National Grand Champion bull (J7N VicMar 420) and the National Reserve Champion bull (J7N Whiskey River). Off springs from these two young bulls are just now making their public appearance. The first VicMar 420 heifer was crowned RGV Calf Champion in 2012 and the first Whiskey River heifers are being offered at MAS VII. Another M9 daughter, J7N What-A-Delight affectionately called “Demi”, was exhibited successfully by Victor Moreno. Demi was the 2011 National Senior Heifer Champion in San Antonio, 2011 Supreme Champion at the S.T.A.R. show in Edinburg and the 2011 Reserve Grand Champion Heifer at the American Jr. Simbrah Round Up. And most recently, J7N Excellencia, a BBC Boomerang daughter out of M9, was the 2012 Senior Heifer Champion at the RGV Jr. Show. There are many individuals that have helped us along the way and contributed to our successes so we would like to recognize three individuals that have always been there for us, Javier Moreno at La Negra Cattle, Roy Baring with Baring Cattle Company and Carlos Guerra from La Muneca Cattle Company. These gentlemen run first class cattle operations and have been an invaluable source of information for us as we have grown our operation. We are excited at the opportunity of becoming a MAS member and are humbled to no end. When in South Central Texas, come by and visit. We would be more than happy to show you our herd. Heck, we can even talk basketball if you like.

Smith Genetics is very proud to offer this outstanding set of bred females to MAS VII in an attempt to also have more mature cattle available to potential buyers. Zoe is another great breeding piece with tremendous maternal power out of Smith Evan. Evan is a syndicated bull owned jointly by Reavis Farms, McCrary Farms and Smith Genetics with no semen sales domestically – the only way to get the genetics of this great Bella Bella son is to buy his daughters or sons and this is a great opportunity to do just that! Zoe sells bred to the immortal NF Smith Sargeant that has definitely made his mark on the Simbrah breed by producing many breed champions and now his daughters are proving to be some of the best in the breed. The stoutness and design of Zoe is typical of what is needed in great producing females. Take advantage of the Smith Genetics semen offer with two straws going with each of our lots for future use on that individual female from any bull in our line up – this alone adds value to each female offered! For those looking for bred replacement heifers, look no farther. Kitty is a stout made, balanced female with adequate muscling and femininity. She is sired by Nu Approach, and out of a Sargeant sired female. She sells bred to Nu Wave II. I just don’t think it gets any better than that! Selling 1/2-interest and 1/2-possession. Our commitment is to bring the best cattle available in our offerings and this is the best show heifer prospect for the upcoming show season and boy is J7N Yours Truly a good one!! We have had our share of excellent show cattle, to include the 2010 National Champion and Reserve Champion bulls both out of our M9 donor and in our opinion, she is the best heifer we have raised. J7N Yours Truly is the first heifer out of our 2010 National Reserve Sire of Lot 14 and 15, Champion bull, J7N Whiskey River and a Go Getter daughter that we purJ7N Whiskey River, chased from La Muneca and Bet M Ranch at Synergy in 2010. Here is 2010 National Reserve your chance to purchase the much sought after M9 genetics, which have Champion Bull. exceled in both the sale ring and the show ring. Whiskey River is a maternal brother to the famous LMC Oprah (5M9 daughter) which created LMC Diva and Diva created Dream Girl. Another M9 son, J7N VicMar 420 was the 2010 National Champion bull and he sired J7N Yamini, the 2012 RGV Calf champion. So now the J7N Whiskey River progeny has started with J7N Yours Truly. Could she “TRULY” be the next great one? Genetically, it doesn’t get much better!! The M9 cow family has proven to be one of the most profitable cow families in the breed. If you are looking for an immediate show contender, this baby doll is your type of calf. J7N Yabadoo is another Boomerang sired August show heifer prospect that we are offering. If you like working hair on show heifers, Yabadoo is the one for you. She is a very gentle, deep sided, level hipped black heifer that should have a great show career. Boomerang heifers have made an impact in the show ring, having produced division champions at the major shows for the Freasier Ranch and the Willey family in San Antonio, plus Boomerang has also produced a Reserve Grand Champion in San Antonio for the Bettice family. But what makes this heifer even more appealing is that she is out of a Monte Christo cow. In our opinion Monte Christo cattle, in general, are the most fertile cattle in the business. We purchased Angelina at Synergy in 2010 with an October heifer on her side. Eleven months later, Angelina calved to produce Yabadoo. Boomerang has made a great impact on our cattle herd and in the show ring. Arianna Cantu showed J7N Xena in 2010 and she was the 2010 Reserve Champion Simbrah at the competitive STAR show. In this offering, we introduce you to J7N Yordana, a powerful sleek looking heifer that is as long as a freight train. Alexandra’s dam is the popular “Sophie” cow that won the 2000 San Antonio Open Show, as well as the RGVLS Open and Junior Shows for Anne Baring. Alexandra offers an outcross pedigree being sired by the SAC Mr. MT bull that produced some of Simmental’s most productive cattle during the last decade. The LMC Titan bull will go down as one of the best Simmy bulls ever used at La Muñeca and is the sire to the 5H/144 donor that produced over 70 Grade A embryos in one flush, a record for veteran embryologist, Dr. Boyd Bien. Selling one-half interest and one-half possession. Our good friends at La Morra Ranch, Joe B. & Nelda Rodriguez donated these four embryos to the Guerra Memorial Scholarship Fund at MAS III and we purchased them for $4,800. Out of this purchase, we produced Mr. BETM Niner, who will be a future herd sire for us as well as the Nyna female that is before you today. The “9” donor produced LMC Oprah, who produced the dam to the infamous LMC WFC Ms. Dream Girl, the LMC Miss Diva cow. Ima Beauty Too is an absolutely beautiful, fancy, complete babydoll show prospect that is a pre sale favorite. Please note – she is a full sister to the fabulous, many time champion, RGV Dr. Beauty! We sold La Muneca an interest in Dr. Beauty then sold 1/3 interest in her to Savannah Chappell placing a $22,500 value on her! Dr. Beauty was undefeated in class and was champion many times. Her most recent wins include: Grand Champion Open Simbrah – RGV Livestock Show and Grand Champion at the inaugural LMC $ellabration, where she collected $3,300 in prize money. Ima Beauty Too is just as fancy as her sister, but is red in color. She has a phenomenal front end with her neck and shoulders blending as smooth and soft as suede. She is thick, deep sided, and ultra feminine. Ima Beauty Too is sired by LMC ATZ Dr. Feel Good and out of my daughters’ cow, ZZ Crimson Beauty. Crimson Beauty has had five show heifers in a row that have so far averaged $7,700. She has quickly risen to the top cow in our herd. As always, RGVCC show heifer prospects are eligible for Superbowl, MAS, Heart of Simbrah, and now $ellabration. ALL monies from the sale of this heifer go to my girls’ college fund so please bid freely! Don’t pass this heifer up; she’s got the tools to be just as great as or better than her sister! 100% sells!! Sells open.

Cowgurl is a super long, feminine, thick, red January babydoll show prospect. She is sired by a Black Star grandson and out of a beautiful, long, feminine Ante Up daughter named Covergirl. Covergirl has a textbook udder and is very fertile so this female should follow in her mamma’s footsteps in production after her show career is over. Cowgurl is extremely eye appealing and her good bone and red color demand attention. She will do well in the showring and has eligibility in Superbowl, MAS, and Heart of Simbrah. Again, our bulls will be available for breeding this female. Another top notch female from the heart of our herd. Klarissa Cantu owns half this heifer and would appreciate your bid as she is on her way to Texas A&M this fall! Congrats and good luck, Klarissa!

Here is another great bred show heifer co-owned with Klarissa Cantu. Let’s make a dent in her college expenses! Faith is a solid red, thick, deep sided Majestic daughter out of a LMC Cornerstone daughter named Firefly. Cornerstone is a son of the great 5D/98 cow, which makes him a maternal brother to the great M9 donor of La Morra. Faith is gentle, halter broke and still has one year of eligibility left.. The resulting calf should be a dandy, considering this female’s power and what the Dream Up calves are looking like. Here is your opportunity to buy a bred show heifer with one year left of eligibility. She’s only getting better every day and should be a force as a bred two year old in the showring! She was AI’d to LN LMC Dream Up on 2/18/12. She is safe in calf with an ECD of 11-28-12.

If you’re looking for a female with beautiful color that will survive the harsh summers of the Texas, RGV Red C is your girl. This heifer has a beautiful deep red color and blaze face. The extension of her front end and her bone is something that popped out at me when I first saw her. This heifer, despite her age, is already looking like a cow. This heifer’s sire, LMC Red Magnum, comes from the immortal cow families of 3E/89 and LMC She Moves. Both females produced international champs such as LMC Red Bullet, LMC Black Bullet, and LM Full House. Red Magnum’s sire, LMC Red Bullet, has produced many champs in his years, such as the 2009 International and National Champion Simbrah Bull, LMC No Limit. With a pedigree like that, there’s definitely more to come. Red C is halter broke, very gentle, and has one year left of show eligibility! RGV Red C sells open and upon purchase sells with 2 units of semen on any of the RGVCC bulls to breed her to. RGV Sire, LMC Superstar is a super stout, square hipped, big boned Moose son out of the great Morning Star. Look at the bull's cleanness for all the bone he has. The pedigree is amazing: Moose is a full sib to Dream Girl. He is out of Nu Wave II and Diva. Diva is out of Johnnie Walker Black and Oprah. Oprah is out of Powerhouse and M9. M9 is put La Morra Cattle Co on the map. Look at all the power in this pedigree - and that's only on the paternal side. On the maternal side, Morning Star is sired by Powerhouse and She Moves. She Moves is sired by the Denver Champion Simmie bull Night Moves and the famous 5C/35 cow of LMC. So in review, maternally we have Morning Star, She Moves, Diva, Oprah, and M9. So if you want a bull with maternal power, this is your bull. He not only is genetically phenomenal, he defended himself in the show ring this past show season, placing no lower than 2nd in the largest classes at San Antonio and Houston. We will be collecting him this fall. If you are interested, please call me at 956279-2200 or La Muneca at 383-7566 to place your orders. We recently purchased our new junior herdsire, LMC LF Bosco. This bull's deep red coat, massive bone, spring of rib, excellent hip and front end extension are all traits I look for in a herd bull. The best trait this bull has is his motion. It's not often that you see a bull stride so smoothly with so much power. This next breed changer is sired by Rocco and out of a beautiful Johnnie Walker daughter named Bridget that won many a show for Marco Flores. Bridget's dam is LMC Daisy. Daisy's dam is the famous 5H/144 cow that is probably the most fertile cow in the LMC herd. So again major league maternal power matched with awesome sires make up this bull's pedigree. This bull would have sent major shockwaves through the show barn if he was shown. He should be bred to polled cows, if polledness is a desired trait for you. He is horned, but he is phenomenal. I never thought I would buy a horned bull until I laid eyes on this bull. I am super excited to have him in my herd with my polled and double polled cows. We may be collecting him along with Superstar in the fall. If you are interested in semen, please call me at 956-279-2200.” Co owned with Gilberto Garza, Jr

If you are looking for an all-purpose female that will leave you many options from a breeding standpoint, then 3X/27 is the one for you! Don’t let this diamond get away! Her progeny will perform and pay in the ring!

In the summer of 2005, a group of young, progressive Simbrah breeders established a marketing group named Marketing American Simbrah. Commonly referred to as MAS, which translates MORE is exactly MAS’s vision—placing More Simbrahs in More cattlemen’s pastures in MORE markets-not only in Texas, but worldwide. MAS is spinning off the momentum created by the best Simbrah we have ever raised with a market for these cattle that has never been as hot and demanding as now. A big hearty thanks goes out all of our supporters for making MAS VI another great Simbrah event. The total MAS Simbrah VI sale grossed $463,450 on 149 lots for a $3,110 average per lot with 80 buyers. Another sale highlight was the fact that several new Simbrah breeders were established and the many buyers from as far away as Oregon, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi and Mexico. Leo Casas was the auctioneer. In just six years, MAS has sold 963 lots for $2,534,785 for $2,632 average with one-third of the offering being yearling bulls. MAS has awarded over $105,000 in junior premiums and has raised over $220,000 for different scholarships and breed promotion. Carlos X Guerra, a founding member of MAS has always said, “A breed is only as good as its people”. With this in mind, MAS invests $21,000 every year in the future of Simbrah in premiums and prizes awarded at the MAS SIMBRAH SHOWDOWN & STAR MAS Steer Show to reward those juniors who have invested in MAS members’ programs. It is our intent to maintain both the MAS Sale and MAS SIMBRAH SHOWDOWN, as annual events in and effort to better serve commercial producers, seedstock producers and our youth. We encourage other Simbrah breeders throughout the Simbrah World to do the same by forming alliances like MAS and SYNERGY. The successful marketing of QUALITY IN QUANTITY can only be accomplished with spirited cooperation from several breeders working together with good leadership for a common goal. This year MAS is taking a new approach with a new time of year and a new venue, plus we are tying our event with another event to make it worth everyone’s travel dollar. This year MAS is excited to be part of the big weekend in the Rio Grande Valley and the American Junior Simbrah Roundup, the national show for Simbrah junior exhibitors. It’s all shaping up to be a great weekend for the breed and we hope you are planning to be a part of it! The alliance of the MAS members creates a cow herd in excess of over 1,500 Simbrah cows in production, with 90% of those of being within a 40 mile radius in the Rio Grande Valle. MAS will use this concentration of top quality cows in production within this region as leverage to make South Texas THE SIMBRAH CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. As we bend the ear of more and more cattle producers with our united efforts, we are confident that Simbrah will be come the dominate breed in South Texas. By creating more commercial and junior field days, we can continue to build on old relationships and create new friends, too. This will help each and every breeder to assist our Simbrah needs. As MAS members, we have also added and created a $5,000 MAS Simbrah steer show at the South Texas Agricultural Roundup, benefiting Hidalgo County 4-H and FFA members who purchase steers from MAS members. MAS intends to gather and utilize carcass date on Simbrah sired steers to assist in creating new markets for Simbrah both domestically and foreign. MAS members combine over 200 years of experience in breeding and marketing Simbrah cattle as always, we appreciate your interest in MAS and if you have a recommendation for us, we will be glad to visit with you. We firmly believe there is no “I” in team, and as a group, we hope to fulfill not only our Simbrah goals, but yours as well. We are proud of our sale offering it is second to none and caters to the needs of any cattleman. We have much in store for the future of Simbrah and the entire cattle industry. Our events will be fun, education, and most importantly productive for every individual in order to help you attain your Simbrah goals. Please join us and help us celebrate SIMBRAH’S SUCCESS.
Scenes From MAS VI, We Thank You For Your Support and Look Forward To Seeing Everyone At MAS VII AND THE American Junior Simbrah Roundup
