Mound Creek will select one bull to retain possession of and will only sell special semen packages from this bull. This selection has now become known as our “Keeper Bull” of the year. This information will be made available once the pick has been made.

Again, this year’s sale will be broadcast real time on DV Auction, and Wade Fisher, Ideal Productions, has professionally videoed our sale offering. Those who cannot attend the sale will have the capabilities of bidding on cattle throughout the day.
On sale day the cattle will stay in their presale display pens and sell by video only. Please spend a little extra time going through the cattle prior to the sale so you can be familiar with your potential purchases. Everyone is welcome to visit Mound Creek any time between now and sale day to review the sale offering in their current pasture locations. Breeding Guarantee on Bulls
Dr. Scott Vancil has done a stringent Breeding Soundness Evaluation on each bull in this sale. All bulls selling are considered as satisfactory, potential breeders, and are guaranteed as breeding bulls through the first breeding season. If a problem should arise, please contact us and we will offer a replacement bull of equal or greater quality. If a replacement is not available when needed, a credit will be issued for Mound Creek’s 2026 Bull Sale.
Breeding Guarantee on Females
(A) A Female is NOT guaranteed to be a breeder after the date of the sale when that female is used or attempted to be used in an embryo transfer program, unless by a separate agreement between the buyer and seller. (B) Even though it is possible some of the females have worked successfully in embryo transfer programs in the past, and should in the future, there is NO guarantee of warranty on future embryo production of any sale female.
Retaining Rights to One Embryo Flush
To simplify our female sale, we will not retain breeding or embryo interests in any female in this sale. However, if any female goes into embryo production in her future, Mound Creek or our cooperator will retain the rights on every female in the sale to one embryo collection or IVF oocyte harvest at our expense.
Heifer Breeding Option
Mound Creek Ranch will offer to keep any heifer sold in this sale for a prearranged breeding period to AI to any available Mound Creek herd sire and then breed said heifer to Mound Creek natural service sires. If interested in this program please contact ranch staff or marketing team to understand payment terms and details for this Heifer Breeding Option.
Cattle Load Out
Cattle can be loaded out during and after the sale. We ask that any pot-sized loads wait until the conclusion of the sale. We will load out cattle on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and ask that each buyer inform the clerks of your desire to load out on Sunday along with an approximate time of arrival. If you require a load out on another day, please inform the clerks as to your desired date and time.

Welcome to Mound Creek Ranch! It is that time of year again and we are planning to have a rocking great time on March 14 and 15! We are blessed, thankful and excited for so many positives in our country, and our beef industry. Mound Creek Ranch holds the distinction of being the longest running Brangus breeder to consecutively host an active bull sale event dating back to our first sale in 1993. This longevity is only possible with the annual support of our cattle buyers and the many friends we have made over the years. We have dedicated these decades to building a program with a brand representing quality, character, reputation, and cutting edge seedstock cattle recognized around every corner of the globe. We hope you can be with us in March to enjoy this year’s Rock and Roll bash. The registered females and the International Brangus Breeders Foundation Sponsored Embryos will sell Friday, March 14. The Commercial Heifers and bulls will sell Saturday, March 15.
Our crew at Mound Creek Ranch rises before the sun peaks out and they are always taking care of ranch chores as the sun goes down. The National Cattle Inventory Report
January 1, 2025, Cattle and Calves Inventory provided another excellent outlook for those in the cow/calf segment of our beef industry. There are 27.9 million beef cows in the United States which is down 1% from last year while milk cows are slightly up to 9.35 million. The United States calf crop is estimated down slightly from last year and cattle on feed is down 1% from 2024. Collectively, since 2020 all cattle and calves’ inventory in the country has declined from just over 94 million head to about 86.7 million head! Translation, our cow/calf producers are getting paid for their product at record level premium values while the forecasts continue to be highly optimistic for the future. Additionally, those cattlemen raising high quality calves with added performance, ability to gain, go big in the yards, and attract packer attention will continue to fuel this value run, always owning a spot in the premium market!
Top Dollar Angus
Mound Creek is currently only one of two Brangus programs invited to join the Top Dollar Angus Genetic Marketing Alliance. Top Dollar is the first genetic verification company to provide marketing support for Brangus/Ultrablack cattle in the TOP 25% of genetic value for growth and carcass traits. Mound Creek was invited to join due to our genetics that will create cattle feed, go big, and hang.
What’s a Bull Worth (From Dr. Mark Johnson, Extension Beef Specialist, Oklahoma State University) According to the most recent (Jan) Oklahoma Market Report:
524 lb. weaned steer calves (Large 1) are worth about $3.50/lb. for a value of $1834/head. If my future marketing plan is to sell weaned steers, $1834 x 5 = $9170 is the answer.
912 lb. yearling steer (Large 1) are worth about $2.53/lb. for a value of about $2300/head. If my future marketing plan is to sell yearling steers, $2300 x 5 = $11,500 is the answer.
1500 lb. finished beef steers are worth $2.00/lb. for a value of $3000/head. If my future marketing plan is to retain ownership selling on live weight basis, $3000 x 5 = $15,000 is the answer.
So, in this current market a good bull is worth somewhere between $9000 and $15,000 to a commercial cow/calf operation.

The Use of DNA Technology
DNA technology, and its various forms of use in the beef industry, is here to stay and we have embraced this technology as a positive impact on our world. Factually, there are no programs with “true” Brangus which are defined as 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Angus, or 37.5% Brahman and 62.5% Angus. Science tells us our national Brangus breed average is around 25% Brahman and 75% Angus, so we provide in this catalog the “facts” for DNA percentages of Brahman and Angus in our sale cattle. DNA combination from each parent is random and therefore at each mating it is impossible to “control” in a composite breed how much bos indicus vs bos taurus each offspring receives. We are simply giving you the facts science provides. Yes, on average, our REG cattle will have the highest percentage of Brahman DNA, followed by UB2 cattle and then UB1. However, within each group you will find wide swings of these Brahman vs Angus compositions.
Stockmen generally know what kind of bull is preferred relative to phenotype, design, measurements, leather, etc. Closely study genomically enhanced EPD (GE-EPD) ranks, and place high emphasis in this information! For years our Friday morning campfire coffee and biscuits, Friday Chuckwagon Hash for lunch, and breakfast tacos with campfire coffee for our Saturday morning Sale Day “pick me up” was provided by Rodney Yarbrough and his Family in their Chuckwagon set up. The Yarbrough Family will continue to take care of us with their great campfire coffee and food; however, last year we lost Rodney Yarbrough, the patriarch and Yarbrough family icon. There will be a gap that can’t be filled this year. We will sure miss Rodney.

Plan to be with us March 14 and 15. Food will be great, sale cattle are awesome, and the party will be a blast out of the past. Last year everyone had fun at our Mexican themed party with chips and hot sauce, margaritas, and the best Mariachi Band in the state. THIS YEAR we plan on a rocking great time with themes reminiscent of the Rock and Roll Times of the 50s and 60s. Some may come outfitted as Elvis or Fonzie, others like the “hippies” of the Woodstock Era, and others like the Cowboys and Cowgirls simply wanting to enjoy and review the sale cattle. Expected Progeny Difference (EPD): The genetic predictor of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals listed in the breed database.
EPD Accuracy: Since all sale animals in this catalog are non-parents, their accuracies are the lowest calculated by our national sire evaluation program. Every EPD reported is either current, interim or pedigree EPD. Calving Ease Direct (CED): is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to first-calf heifers.

Ribeye Area (REA): Expressed in square inches, is a predictor of transmitting ribeye size and overall muscle which is a key component in USDA yield grades.
Intramuscular Fat (IMF): Expressed as a percentage, is a predictor of transmitting ability for marbling or intra-muscular fat correlating to USDA quality grade at harvest time.
Percentile Ranks: The given EPD values are current to the printing of this catalog. However, an EPD is meaningless without the knowledge of where that given EPD ranks in a breed population. The PERCENTILE RANKS are offered in combination with the EPD or Index values and determine where EPD ranks in the national Brangus database from our National Genetic Evaluation. A percentile rank of 10% indicates a trait in the Top 10% of the entire nations Brangus database.

This year we have added more numbers in our commercial female sale and will continue to grow the size of this marketing effort to better serve our commercial buying customers. We will be selling an excellent group of Brangus, Ultrablack, and Super Baldie Heifers, each of size, quality and body condition ready to breed after this sale.
The commercial heifers selling this year are an excellent group, deep in quality end to end, and stem from the genetic program at Mound Creek Ranch through seedstock bulls purchased in previous Mound Creek Sales. In saying this one can expect the same high standards in genetic contributions from these commercial heifers as we strive to annually build into our seedstock program that produces our high-quality bulls and registered females we annually market.
Prior to the sale each ownership group of heifers will be tagged with sale lot numbers and pre-sorted in uniform groups for size, color, type and kind. The cattle will then sell according to their pre-sorted pens with the noted tag number and head count available prior to the sale. These pre-sorted pens will have videos available prior to the sale to include only the heifers selling within each given pen. As each set of heifers is sold from an ownership group, the winning bidder will be given, at the discretion of the sale team, the option to purchase the following pen of females as long as that pen is from the same ownership group of cattle. MOUND CREEK Terms & Conditions
Except for those stated in the below terms and conditions, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold at this auction. The warranties and guarantees set forth in the “Terms & Conditions” are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party through buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities.
1. BIDDING: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision shall be final.
2. TERMS: All terms are cash or check. Settlement must be made to the clerk at the conclusion of the auction.
3. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but will not be delivered until settlement has been made.
4. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: When full settlement has been made, a certificate of registration will be furnished and transferred to the purchaser on those lots that are registered. Give full name and address to the clerk when making payment so the Certificate of Registry will be transferred properly.
5. HEALTH: All animals where possession is sold are eligible for interstate shipment except as otherwise noted. The cattle have been tested for Tuberculosis and Bangs disease within thirty (30) days of the sale date or come from a Brucellosis Certified Free Herd or come from a Brucelosis Certified Free Herd or originate from a Certified Tuberculosis or Bangs free state.. A health certificate will be furnished.
6. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction box will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog. All cattle will be sold by lot numbers as announced by the auctioneer.
7. BREEDING GUARANTEE: (A) All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of (1) injury or disease occurring after sale; (2) negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser. (B) Any bull which either (1) produces viable semen; (2) settles 1/3 or more of the healthy cows he serves; (3) is the sire of 20 or more animals or; (4) settles cows by natural service and passes a fertility test made by a competent veterinarian during any 6 month trial period, shall be considered a breeder.
7. DONORS: (A) A Female is NOT guaranteed to be a breeder after the date of the sale when that female is used or attempted to be used in an embryo transfer program, unless by a separate agreement between the buyer and seller. (B) Even though it is possible some of the females have worked successfully in embryo transfer programs in the past, and should in the future, there is NO guarantee of warranty on future embryo production of any sale female.
8. LIABILITIES: All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. Cattle Brokers, Inc. has been employed by the consignor(s) of the animals being sold solely for the purpose of advertising and conducting the subject sale. All information regarding the subject animals as published in sales brochures and as announced at the sale is based on the representations made to Cattle Brokers, Inc. by the consignor(s). Cattle Brokers, Inc. has not made any independent investigation to verify and Cattle Brokers, Inc. assumes no liability, either legal or equitable, for failure of title, health registration and lien status of the subject animals; and Cattle Brokers, Inc. makes no representations, either expressed or implied, as to whether or not the subject animals are security under any lien, either legal or equitable.
9. PRIVATE BIDS: Phone bids may be furnished in confidential form to Cattle Brokers, Inc. at (979) 255-4357.
10. OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT: (A) All claims for adjustment must be made in writing within six (6) months of the sale date. (B) Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within the time limits specified above, if in healthy condition, may be returned to seller at buyer’s expense. The seller reserves the right and privilege of trying for a period of six (6) months to prove the animal a breeder. If proven a breeder, the animal will be returned at buyer’s expense. Should the animal fail to breed, the seller will provide a replacement of the animal with another of equal or greater quality. If a replacement animal is not available when needed, a credit will be issued toward your next purchase. (C) Any animal returned must have a veterinarian’s certificate that it is healthy and free of Bangs and Tuberculosis. (D) Seller does not guarantee death loss or injury.
