Seniors Only - Requires a 2.8 unweighted GPA
If you like expressing your creativity through hair and nails, consider our Cosmetology program. You’ll get hands-on beauty experience in a salon environment operated by RCC and open to the public. Your course work will include instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skincare, nail care, multicultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge and other selected topics.
NOTE: Students must obtain a grade of "C" or better in all COS courses to be able to process to the next level. If a student does not earn a "C" or better in COS courses, he/she must repeat the course to earn the minimal "C" before enrolling in the higher level course.
CCP Entry Point = Senior Year.
COS 115 and 116 will be scheduled to allow high school students to transition to the day program to finish a certificate , diploma or degree.

Students completing the certificate (1200 hours) are eligible to sit for the examination for an apprentice license which requires students to work under a licensed cosmetologist for a minimum of 6 months and 1040 hours after graduation before receiving full licensure status.

Course work in this program is mostly hands-on and includes such topics as AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, programmable logic controllers, industrial motor controls, applications of the National Electric Code and other subjects as local needs require. When you’ve finished the program, you will qualify for a variety of jobs in the electrical field, performing or assisting in the layout, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.

You will learn to be a master welder in our impressive, on-campus facility at our Archdale Center. The program includes instruction on consumable and non-consumable electrode welding and cutting processes. You will be provided with industry-standard skills developed through classroom training and practical application. Courses include print reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing.
