Danielle’s Diary Exclusive Interview with LA-Based T-Shirt Designer Brian Lichtenberg How Brian Made a Name For Himself Through Designer Pardody and Mocking People’s Names

→ As a native L.A. guy, how does the city’s streetwear

compare to NYC?

Definitely here [NYC], I feel like fashion is more in your face and people are more into wearing designers here. It’s really cool, whereas in L.A. it’s very comfortable and casual. There’s only those few pockets in L.A. where you can see more New York, dressed up kind of vibe.

→ How often do you see people wearing your designs? It always puts a smile on my face when I’ll go around L.A. to Barneys New York or out to eat and will see somebody more often than not wearing my stuff, and they’ll mix it with their Céline bag, or Hermés, and it makes me happy because that’s exactly how I pictured it: just merging street and luxury.

→ So, do you know how to twerk too? Yes I do! I know how to twerk! I always have dance parties at my house. Me and my friends have had contests before. Definitely. [Laughs]

arlier this summer I went on an internet shopping odyssey to find white dresses in every style I could think of (strapless, tight and short; strapless, flowy and long; long-sleeve, tight and mid-length, etc, etc, forever). But now, in the middle of another project, I think I’ve found one dress—one—that can easily float between different styles and looks, making a closet crammed with white dresses a little less necessary. (A little. I mean everyone loves a white dress, even dudes. Especially dudes.) Hailing from this little white this little place called Zara, the dress is easy, comfortable, so that the simple-but-not boring—perhaps my favorite qualifier— thanks to flirty cutouts balanced by a coolgirl casual drawstring and asymmetrical hem. I can already think of so, so many ways to wear it, five of which are below. ogwarts may have had a uniform, but for those young witches who never managed to don the Sorting Hat, there’s now it was Hogwarts another option: Black Milk’s Harry Potter collection. Merging the whimsy of Luna Lovegood with the sex appeal of Narcissa Malfoy (Oh, stop scoffing—the woman is a fox!), the range Harry Potter is at the top ot the industry includes a few literal items like photo prints of Severus Snape and Harry himself in mid-spell. But it’s the more abstract graphics, including a Deathly Hallows swimsuit and a Weasley Weather Bottle dress, that are surprisingly chic on the clothes, will attend Hogrwarts. I am still waiting for my letter almost like a private joke: if you’re Team Hermione, you know the Marauder’s Map dress can help you magically sneak out Black Milk Clothing Collection has launched a Harry Potter at night. If you’re still firmly living in the land of the Muggles, collection with pieces selling between $55 and $95. then it’s just a cool mini with some weird words on the sides.
