90‘s FRIENDS.
n dusty, smoke-lit studios, a succession of great directors create classic of all times. Meanwhile, narrow ties return and black and white cinema is about to pass into history. MODEL : MAYANK KUMAR
INSPIRATION 1990’S FASHION INSPIRED FROM ‘FRIENDS’ The very thing that was brilliant about Friends is what holds it back from being given its style dues. It may be insufficiently edgy to get the inspiration name at famous fashion weeks, but the Friends look is still powerful. There is a gender-neutral aesthetic back to Joey Tribbiani, if you watch the show now you notice how remarkably similar the fabrics, colours and styles are between the male and female characters. Tailoring was boxy and over-sized in shirts, use of suspenders, oversized blazers, all of it giving a very retro yet casual and comfortable look.

TRIBAL FACE PAINTING
C
reation in black and white of patterns you can find in traditional tribal paintings, objects and clothes. Human faces have no inherent hard lines or edges, so lines or strong geometric shapes immediately make the face “nonhuman” and ready to become “other”. They turn the face into a mask. The first goal of tribal makeup is to disguise the wearer, or more precisely, to remove his individual human identity, the ultimate goal is to create another identity — to turn them into something new. POP-TASTIC
P
op is everything art hasn‘t been for the last two decades. It‘s basically the U-turn back to a representational visual communication, moving at a break-away speed...Pop is a re-enlistment in the world. It is the American Dream, optimistic, generous and naïve. MODEL : URVASHI PARMAR
INSPIRATION Pop Art is the movement in art when artists began to create art with the subject of things that are the iconic in nature such as famous people, advertising, and movies. Should we ask how Pop art made a comeback or should we ask how come it never actually stopped being mainstream? There are numerous Pop art exhibitions taking place this year alone: The World Goes Pop at Tate Modern, Pure Pop Art Exhibition celebrated or revisited through more contemporary eyes. Pop art continues to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for fashion, design, the entertainment industry, adverting methods, popular culture in general, over and over again. Andy Warhol made several versions of a portrait of Marilyn Monroe during the 1960s, creating the most iconic image of the actress – and Pop Art in general. Inspired from the same, we used bright and bold eyes-shadow of yellow colour, taken from the colour scheme of Pop Art. The costume features a multicolored, comic-inspired pencil skirt with a bright yellow crop top and a candy apple red coloured blazer.
