Our vision is a South Africa where slum kids are given an opportunity for a better life, regardless of their educational status and social standing. We are providing a complete different style of storytelling and running away from that sense of urgency to provide news because it is due but because it is relevant and true. I want them to know that freedom of speech exists and I want them to clearly understand that their life stories will change and break stereotypes. The freedom of expression, the confidence within to share empowering stories, the courage to advocate for their rights. We are not going to be anyone’s darling, we do not aim to please because we speak for those that do not have a voice. One day I saw a DJ on a video mixing all kinds of music and it was beautiful, I thought being from a slum area already means am dancing to the beat of a different drum and i could shake things up and still beautiful sound would come out hence the name TURN TABLES. I wish to have a logo that should convey a sense of curiosity, as in something that is different, and unexpected. No one expects uneducated kids to run a media garage but we will.


The brandmark Wherever the TURN TABLES brandmark is used there should be a minimum clear space around it. No text or graphic should be included within this space. It should always be placed horizontally. X a moderately thick band has to be left on all four sides X

the rectangle circumscribing the logo has to be left untouched should not be tampered with

The TURN TABLES logo can also be reproduced in several other colour combinations as per the secondary colour palette if required. The brandmark proportions, relationship of icon to logotype and direction should never be altered. However it is advised that for official purposes the original logo should be used. If other combinations are required in a specific case then please ask for those variations and do not attempt to recreate them from the original brandmark. When placing the logo on a document it should be either on the left or centre never on the right (in case of horizontal placement) and top or centre never at the bottom (in case of vertical placement). The logo should never be placed at an angle at any cost. The logo and the tagline should not have the same colour unless ofcourse it is in monochrome.


Typefaces The TURN TABLES logo has a sharp edged typeface Zebrra for the common T, for the rest of the title the typeface VAG Rounded and for the tagline the typeface Arial Rounded MT Bold are used. This typeface is to be used for all corporate correspondences, printed and digital material and any other items pertaining to the TURN TABLES brand. Zebrra

Typographic styles 1. The words TURN TABLES and the slogan MY STORY YOUR STORY OUR STORY should be aligned on both ends for reference the horizontal line can be used. 2. Apart from the common T the rest should be in lower case.

Colour palette The TURN TABLES primary colour palette is the set of colours that should be used whenever possible. These are the initial and main choice for any design. In the situations where extra colours are required such as the TURN TABLES website, borchure or any other promotional material, then the highlight and accent colours, secondary palette, are to be used but sparingly. The ratio of the primary palette to the secondary palettes should be around 75% - 25%. Meaning, 75% of the design should be in the primary colours and the secondary palette is to be used as an accent or a touch-up.
