A Personal Narrative Poster Series portraying the beginning middle and end respectively in a three part series. This autobiographical story exhibits various consequences of my childhood habit of looking out the window. Little did I know how much I missed and yearned for it until I left home. All narrative studies are intended to consider abstraction, transparency, layering, and juxtaposition.

design.ratipriya@gmail.com

Shifting In Composition, Typographic treatment, and treatment of color palette mimics the shape of the narrative arc. Abstraction and transparency are employed.

The Search Bar In This Interface inclines the user to actually search through the frame of view, just as I searched as a child through the window. The magnifying glass uses a literal connotation juxtaposed with the elements of the interface, which use a figurative connotation. Structure and information architecture inspired by that of SEGD.

This Mobile Application Depicts the Lush Vibrant environment of Yadkin Valley, North Carolina. Located in northwestern North Carolina, the Yadkin Valley commences at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and sprawls eastward into the Piedmont. This application is now running in unison with the website as promotional venue for the visitors bureau and tourism. Designed in June 2012 during professional experience at MERJE design under the instruction of John Bosio, principal at MERJE.

design.ratipriya@gmail.com

Development of Mobile Application assets required color palette, icon, and navigational studies. Prior knowledge of livecode for mobile application development was utilized. This stream prototypes Agritourism. Application is developed using structural framework of www.goyadkinvalley.com.

TRANSCENDANCE STREAM 2

diagrammatic/type and image

This stream shall focus on contrasting devout ideal form with human form. Relationship of proportion, expression, technicality, and foundation comparing the human figure (in this case male) with the ideal form or contrast the supreme being with the human being. A juxtaposition of diagrammatic dichotomy with the quintessential, picturesque, utopian forms is employed.

TRANSCENDANCE

SPLENDOR STREAM 3

purely image based

Enjoy the grandeur of the presentation in the process of getting ready for performance. Movement is even captured in the static form. I believe the dance gives movement to the static form. The dancer’s appearance is the medium through which one can absorb this art form.

SPLEN D O R

DEVOTED TO DANCE

An iPad Interface Executing Three Facets of Bharathanatyam (South Indian Classical Dance): etymology, transcendance, and splendor. It’s a multilayered spectacle which transcends the body, mind and soul, rich in its grounded history and style sensitive foundation/influence, yet subtle in its etymology. Bringing me closer to my South Indian culture, Bharathanatyam helped me define my idea of devotion. Work in Progress. This degree project employs autobiographical text and photography by Ratipriya Suresh.
