SELF-INTERPRETATION The brief was to design products which are lightweight, easy to transport and cost-effective. Combination of various sand stone, wood and metal could be used to create fusion products. The brief was to design a product range from sandstone for indoor as well as outdoors.

After this we did the site visit at Sikandra where we observed the machine and hand processing of sandstone. This helped in giving a clear vision as in what should be our deliverables to the stone industry.

The ideation was the best part where i personally did learn a lot. We did many sketches which helped me to visualise better, so it gave me a clear view of the process. Sketching helped in the sense to realise the what are the various possibilities in stone. We also explored in various materials so as to get a better vision of the prototype`s feasibility.

FINAL CONCEPTS

Fountain This fountain was designed to highlight the sound made by ascending water from stone plates. The water flowing down makes a very mesmerizing sound to which one can relate him/herself.

The plates are made by grinder and has a certain unevenness which gives it a raw look.

Dimensions :- Base= 18”x18”x 7”(Slab=0.75”thick) Plate= 6”,8”,10”,12”diameter Slab= 36”x17”x1” Material :-

Red sand stone & Rainbow sand stone

Making :-The form would be made on grander and hand tools.

EXPERIENCE Working in Sand stone was a great exrience for me. I naver had explored stone as a material so was a great learning all forgether. it was a great oppartunity to work with the artisans at sikendra. I feel myself fortunate that i got the chance of working with designer like Mr. Tadao Arimoto. In this project. I developed Garden stool and Fountain. At every step, I learned a lot.
