JOURNEY TO THE CORE – URBAN DESIGN PROJECT

The project was to redesign Al Madeenah Al Monawara Corridor in Amman, Jordan in order to be responsive to the users needs. We depended on two books; Space Syntax for Bill Hillier | Responsive Environment for Ian Bentley.

CONCEPT - Giving pedestrians the feeling of going through a journey that leads to the center of the corridor “THE CORE”. - THE CORE will include bridges connecting between the two sides of the street, terraces, courts, and mixed use buildings. - The elevations new design will contain a pattern that increase towards the center acting like a visual leading element in the journey. 9

BARCELONA TEMPORARY PAVILION INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION This is a design for a pavilion in a very crowded area in Barcelona. The design reflected the economic and architectural growth in Barcelona while still giving importance to the sea and nature.

Our concept was to design something revolutionary that represents the development in the economic and architectural fields in Barcelona. Lines were taken from the context to form the project and the location by the sea formed the pavilion using transparent glass that doesn’t block the sea view in a crowded city where communication with nature is needed.

PARLIAMENT PROJECT This project is a design for a new parliament building instead of the old one located in AlAbdali. The design concept was to create a new way of thinking by creating an extraordinary design.

“WE CAN’T SOLVE PROBLEMS BY USING THE SAME KIND OF THINKING WE USED WHEN WE CREATED THEM” __ Albert Einstein 12

CONCEPT - CREATING A NEW WAY OF THINKING Centralized Order

- Individual chakra’s can create centralized order connecting thoughts.

Random Order

ORDER

We placed an INTERACTIVE WALL at the final point of our journey so people can interact and express their ideas and feelings throughout their experience in the journey.

PAST

OUR JOURNEY

- Focusing on the bright side. - showing people our achievements throughout history. - A smaller phasing part.

PRESENT

Our present is unsteady : paths on water/sensor water features/lighting effects The biggest part : A turning point

FUTURE

Represented by darkness leading to the Ray of Hope

-Random lines formed the masses of our project in order to create a shock to refresh the human brain.
