The Sunshine Coast’s current population of 298,000 is projected to grow by over 170,000 over the next 20 years to 470,000 people in 2036. Aura itself is expected to account for around 30% of this growth, averaging 2,000 new residents per year. This rapid population growth is expected to be matched by equally strong economic growth, built off a decade of economic growth averaging more than 4% per year (compared to 3% for Australia as a whole). The Sunshine Coast economy is forecast to grow from $16 billion in Gross Regional Product (GRP) to $33 billion in 2033, averaging X% growth per year. Aura is expected to give the Sunshine Coast economy an 11% boost, contributing an additional $1.5 billion in GRP per year.
