Birtinya is one of the Sunshine Coast’s most in-demand suburbs, not only a regional health hub with both the Sunshine Coast University Public and Private Hospital located there along with a plethora of medical specialists; but also, a thriving business centre with a mix of industrial, retail, and commercial enterprises located there.

One of the major drawcards to Birtinya now and into the future the emerging multi-billion-dollar town centre, a shared vision of Stockland and the Sunshine Coast Council, which when finally completed will consist of approximately 18 hectares of extensive frontage to Lake Kawana.

The proposed town centre is mixed-use with retail and civic functions integrated with commercial, health related research facilities, and high density residential. At the core of the town centre is high quality public realm and a new civic plaza fronting Lake Kawana. The master plan is designed to connect the centre with a future light rail service proposed for the Sunshine Coast. The first stage of the retail core opened in 2019, with works on future stages ongoing.

Commercial property in Birtinya is in high demand – with Kawana Way providing quick easy access to the motorway, and its centrality to key major amenities. From high-profile national investors and tenants through to boutique operators, this particular suburb has been highlighted by property analysts as a savvy place to invest, and it certainly has undergone somewhat of a ‘boom’ in recent years, with a very bright future ahead.
