Celebrate New Year's Eve with fireworks in Noosa! There are several vantage points to ring in the New Year with fireworks and family-friendly entertainment. Noosa Marina in Tewantin has free fireworks at 9pm and midnight. There’s free live music with Impulse from 8pm-midnight, and the Marina restaurants will have special New Year's Eve celebrations with the best views of the fireworks. Make sure to book in advance. See fireworks from Noosa Main Beach at midnight. The 12-minute fireworks display will be from a barge off Main Beach (swell permitting). If the swell is too big, fireworks will be from the rock wall further along the beach. New Year’s Eve in Coolum will be huge with fireworks at 8.30pm. irst impressions count and from the moment I laid eyes on the sleek gun metal grey coupé that was to be my chariot for the weekend, I knew I was in for a real treat. And that was before I had experienced the pillowy soft ride, stunning leather interior and incredible smart technology the Mercedes-Benz E-300 Coupé had to offer. Wrapped in the comfort of the heated leather seats, the first thing you notice as you pull away in this prestigious vehicle is the near-silent engine and ultra smooth feel on the road. Fitted with air body control air suspension, it feels as though you are gliding. The cockpit-like dashboard was like a playground for my tech-loving husband offering just about every smart feature imaginable including a huge infotainment screen, 360-degree reversing camera, satellite navigation, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Importantly, even those who are a little less tech-savvy (like me) will find the state-of-the-art technology easy to navigate. I was equally impressed with the interior LED lighting, which beautifully illuminates the car when night falls and there are 64 different colours to choose from! It’s nearly impossible to sit in the front of an E-Class and not find just the right

Incredibly responsive, the powerful 4-cylinder, 180 kilowatt turbocharged engine (also available in 6-cylinder bi-turbo all-wheeldrive) made it an effortless ride. The absence of window pillars and frameless doors allowed for uninterrupted views, which was a big hit with our backseat passengers, Miss Nine and friend. Mercedes is well known for its excellent safety rating so it’s little wonder the E-Class qualifies for a maximum five star ANCAP safety rating. Fitted with nine airbags, the sophisticated car also monitors the distance to the vehicle in front, keeps you in lane, watches out for traffic signs for you and keeps its eyes open at junctions. It even knows what’s happening in the blind spot – told you she was intelligent! Our vehicle was also fitted with the vision pack, which included a sunroof and heads up display on the windscreen, which both my husband and I found very handy. Sleek, classy and oh so glamorous, what’s not to love about the MercedesBenz E-300 Coupé and Cabriolet? The hardest part of driving this beauty was saying goodbye.

The Heritage Orchestra was co-founded by Buckley and Chris Wheeler in 2004. Wheeler has produced numerous orchestral shows with artists ranging from Björk, Aphex Twin, Goldie, Massive Attack and Giorgio Moroder. Together they have pushed orchestral music into new territory and established one of the most refreshing independent orchestras in the world, bridging the gap between electronic music and the concert hall. also shares a name with its 2015 predecessor. Says the group: “The lyrical approach of the album was greatly inspired by Irish poet, novelist and Trinity College, Dublin Professor Emeritus Brendan Kennelly’s advice to Bono to 'write as if you’re dead,' resulting in a collection of songs in the form of intimate letters to places and people close to the singer’s heart -- family, friends, fans, himself.” 43
