• Q Pay Spot • AutoTrack • USSD Gateway • Mobile payments • Additional local number

Q Pay Spot

Q Pay Spot service is a modern way of payment, based on point-of-sale (POS) terminal that enables payment traffic of specialized services through GPRS/USSD components of mobile phone system. Q Pay Spot GPRS/USSD POS terminal transfers data using GPRS/USSD. System does not require traditional phone connection. The whole solution of Q Pay Spot system is under Certus management (“Turn key solution”). Q Pay Spot provides efficient, precise, reliable payment with saving of time and money: • electronic refill (top-up) of prepaid accounts for all mobile networks • internet recharge top-up • payment of post-paid bills (electricity, phone bills, cable TV…) • credit card payments of goods and services • cash-free way of payment • parking and transportation tickets • cards and tickets in subscription

What are we talking about? Q Pay Spot GPRS/USSD POS terminal is a multifunctional device, primarily for topping-up of mobile phones accounts. One device provides multiple services – payment of various pre-paid and post-paid services, debit and credit card payments. Q Pay Spot GPRS/USSD POS terminal is connected with Transaction Server - a gateway between terminals. Transaction Server makes possible for providers (mobile operators, internet providers, banks…) to control and monitor the complete terminals’ network in real time.

General system functional diagram

Certus GPRS/USSD POS terminals, in closed system, establish secure connection with Transaction server (TS) using GPRS or USSD protocol. TS is connected with all users and distributors. The server’s software controls POS terminals communications, content/service provider communication and database communication. Each transaction includes terminal verification and validation. This step enables system to grant or deny access for terminal/seller to continue or discontinue with transaction. Opportunities of this system are in its design – a modular way that can provides further extension in both hardware and software, on both Terminal and Transaction Server.

Much more for you Q Pay Spot system extends benefits to all parties: customers, vendors, distributors, service/content providers and Certus. System configuration enables inducting of additional services on the existing terminals. The terminal changes will be accommodated with changes in the Transaction Server components (new bridge tower, new service/content provider, changes in database/reports). The Web Server interfaces with the limited outside world – allows secure web access to authorized users.

The average transaction time is approximately 4 seconds, including account printing. Certus controls both software and hardware components of the system. The most important feature of the Q Pay Spot GPRS/USSD terminal is firmware upgrade over-the-air (FOTA). With this opportunity new services could be added within a few minutes. Different precautionary have been implemented in order to avoid any kind of fraud. Each transaction has been protected by a 4-digit PIN code. In case of misuse, terminal can be immediately disabled. Primarily terminal can be set in limited mode. Different reports are available to all users in the system • users obtain SMS once MSISDN account has been charged • Q Pay Spot users can get daily report • Q Pay Spot terminal owners/distributors/content providers can automatically receive report via e-mail or report on FTP server • web server enables internet access to transaction and system data in real-time Hierarchical structure of users defines information and operation available to each category of users.

Decision is simple, isn’t it?

AutoTrack - Satellite Vehicle Location

Certus AutoTrack presents a GPS satellite vehicle location, using mobile network. System is completely developed, manufactured and controlled by highly educated and experienced Certus team of experts. Certus AutoTrack provides real-time vehicle tracking, off-line analyses of vehicle usage, fleet management, cost reduction and better anti-theft protection with minimal expenses.

Opportunities / User Functions • tracking one or more vehicles in real-time on maps • historical records in a chart and graphical maps • graphical review of vehicle’s pathway in selected period • review of journey with duration • information of vehicles usage, mileage, maximal and average speed in selected period • route defining • a graphical comparison between journey and route • alarm report • and many, many more

Auto Track functioning

How does it work? The essential system component is a special device, installed into a vehicle. Installation is simple, without obstruction of the existing vehicle’s electronics. The device receives its own GPS satellite data about position, speed, direction, date, time and vehicle’s condition data (state, voltage, alarm etc.) Through local network or roaming, all data are transmitted to the central server in the real-time. Special solutions are implemented in the device. That assures minimization of the maintenance cost – a monthly bill to mobile operator will be significantly reduced. The central server is the core component, which collects data from vehicles with GIS (Geographical Information System) data and stocks them in the database. A communication between the central server and web server enables the consumer to examine vehicle’s data by using his own username and password.

USSD Gateway

USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) is a session-oriented GSM service. Session is established over radio connection and remains open until user or network operator terminates that connection. USSD Gateway works on all mobile phones and it is supported by every GSM network worldwide. For roaming users, the USSD request is routed to home mobile operator HLR (Home Location Register) and then transported to Certus’s USSD gateway via SS7protocol and then via TCP/IP to application server.

Opportunities • Easy to use, even easier than sending SMS - interactive and not store-forward session • Dynamically created menus – in case of integrated applications • active at all types of cell phones and networks • browse USSD interactive menu • as well as for roaming users • cheaper service

How does it work? Subscriber dials USSD service number that starts with *, followed by digits for service required data and ends with #. The USSD gateway receives USSD request and submits it further to the Application Server which sends response back to the subscriber. Various applications, simply handling and fast deployment, are offered to subscribers, as a certain opportunities that increase ARPU (Average Revenue per User).

Specifications - support GSM 02.90 – USSD Stage 1 (mobile phone initiated) - support GSM 03.90 – USSD Stage 2 (network/application initiated) - connects to mobile operator HLR via SS7 - SMPP support - easy integration and VAS application development - complete hardware and software support - fast implementation of new services - scalable and redundant solution with high throughput - compatible with each GSM/UMTS network - supports all standard protocols - based on open standard Linux platform - integrated SMS-C - web based administration and statistics - extensive reporting tools

Mobile Payment

Certus Mobile Payments relies on two already presented company’s products – USSD gateway and Q Pay Spot Transaction Server. Those two components are required in order to transfer information from user to the financial institution and service/content provider. User simply enters service code number, service account number and amount. In a few seconds he will get both confirmation payment message on display and SMS message.

Opportunities • easy to use and implement • user service is controlled via USSD menu • increases mobile operator competitiveness • statistical and log reports • reliable and redundant configuration • scalable and modular • based on Linux servers

How does it work? Customer should be registered for this service. Transaction Server user’s MSISDN and account number are stored in database of the financial institution. When customer decides to pay the bill he should enter a USSD format service code, service account number, amount and PIN. Information will be passed through USSD gateway to Q Pay Spot Transaction Server. Transaction server contacts adequate financial institution to authorize the payment. When authorization has been obtained, payment message is exchanged between Transaction Server and Service/Contract Provider Server. Customer receives the confirmation payment message on his phone.

Additional Local Number

It is… Additional Local Number (ALN) service offers a possibility to a subscriber to activate a new number related to existing MSISDN (Mobile Subscriber ISDN). This is an opportunity for the subscriber to call and receive calls on both numbers. For dialing from additional number subscriber uses prefix, the same one that notifies incoming calls for the additional number. The ALN service is possible both for prepaid and postpaid users, and both for local network and roaming. Additional number can be temporary or permanent. Temporary number – a subscriber dials and receives calls, without identification of his permanent MSISDN. When the subscriber decides to terminate additional number service, each call to that number is answered by the machine. Permanent additional number is perfect for persons who need two numbers – one for private use and one for business contacts.

Opportunities • easy to use • user level service control via USSD menu • increases mobile operator competitiveness • web system administration • statistical and log reports • reliable and redundant configuration • scalable and modular • based on Linux server

How does it work? • ALN system is connected to the MSC via SS7 signaling protocol. It uses INAP and MAP for communication with the MSC. INAP (Intelligent Network Application Part) is used for number translation and MAP (Mobile Application Part) is used for handling USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) request. System is also connected to Certus transactions server and to SMS-C (Short Message Service Center). • When a subscriber purchases additional number, request is received by server that sends back a number, assigned by the subscriber - to the terminal. Each ALN service user can control the state of the service, for example: when ALN service expires, activate/deactivate service, subscriber has forgot his number… all those things can be done by sending a proper USSD request. Each user receives SMS with service expiring data, so that he could repay and resume the service. When an ALN service user receives a call – the incoming number is with leading prefix*.

When the ALN service user wants to call from ALN number – the leading prefix is in front of dialed number.+
