News about Speed Limit

Local Issues about Ecology

The former Catalan government, led by JosĂŠ Montilla, set the speed limit at 80 km/h round the city of Barcelona. Now, the new Catalan government, led by Artur Mas, is reviewing this limit. The reasons to review this speed is to reduce pollution from cars. The say that cars pollute less if they travel at a lower speed. They also say that 80 km/h do not reduce pollution at all. But what is true is that there are less car accidents.
