In ‘Modern Times’ the character is trapped in a social reality just like the protagonist in the Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece. TWOWAI defines modern times as the era when one needs to break through the old to adopt to the new environment. Both Junmin and furniture designer Eunhak Kim defines their own interpretation of the subject.

What is modern times to you?
Jun Min always buys new shoes before starting a new project. Both dance and music are full of passion and the act of putting on new shoes symbolizes his motivation and desire.
Recent years most of design products are tool to make money. In nowadays is common to mass-produce designs/products that has no meaning behind. In the pass when folk artist were making products based on necessity might not be as pretty and simple as current design but it had good intension behind it. Furniture designer Eunhak Kim’s idea of modern time is folk artist’s spirits, which could not be mass production. Therefore TWOWAI’s selected unfurnished furniture legs to capture furniture designer Eunhak Kim’s idea of real design couldn’t be mass-produced.

Women is trapped in the block of ice. Wind in her wet hair, she’s lightly dress in the cold. Early morning light. We see a man walking slowly towards her. He comes close, looks her in the eye and starts dancing.

Synopsis
As he dances away the ice starts to melt and crack to finally freeing her from the monotony of repetitive life. His performance sets her free.
