. CODING COUNTER-CARTOGRAPHY //METHODOLOGY

The methodology used to synchronise the research is mapping as a time line, I have produced a set of inter-scalar interactive maps that are accessible online. The platform is composed of many layers and many media has been explored before the creation of it.

Utilising data from the government and redrawing my own map, removing information and recategorising typologies that have been evolving through time has helped me to depict the story of the territory in the way that best suits the project. Satellite imagery from the past 50 years has been key to understanding and questioning the government's agenda. To do so I had added additional layers to the maps such as ‘mechanism’, ‘policy’, ‘pollution’…

I intend to better represent the livelihoods and ecosystems of os galegos (the Galicians in galician) and their culture and cosmology of life and nature, their understanding of biodynamic systems and care for the land. In order to achieve this, the map incorporates ethereal layers that represent tradition and culture through material objects, such as the transhumant church. The interactive online map currently holds a lot of information about the land and a lot of the archival data of the project and the information discovered by my investigation.
