CAMPAIGN FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR Dear Friends, Thanks to your generous support, the Campaign for Catholic Schools (CCS) has crested the $101M mark in just over a decade. Our model and focus on lay governance, enhanced academics, new teacher support, development of future leadership and school renovations has resulted in more than 20,000 students educated in our Academies. And things are only getting better. Today, along with our CCS Board, we have evolved our organization and efforts to ensure long-term sustainability by becoming a legal co-sponsor of our Academies along with the Archdiocese of Boston. In addition, our highly successful Fund for the Future Campaign has to date, achieved over $20.8M against our goal of $25M, for long-term endowment, teacher retention, curriculum enhancements and scholarship support. With our innovative planning and your continued support, we are working hard and effectively to provide our current enrollment of more than 1,400 students with the very best faculty, academics, before/after school programs, guidance, support systems and up-to-date school facilities from 6:30am to 6:00pm daily.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the kids and transforming lives. To that end, 100% of our students have gone onto secondary school, 98% have graduated high school, while 92% are currently attending a four-year college – a testament to our shared success. We look forward to another outstanding year ahead and thank you for helping CCS pay it forward. Sincerely,

IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY TO ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS

CCS support for improved academics has already benefitted students at SJPIICA in a new Bridges to Mathematics curriculum. This program was piloted in six Grade 1-5 classrooms. The results of the pilot program were impressive.

83% of SJPIICA classrooms piloting the Bridges curriculum scored above the national mean in mathematics,

THROUGH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS WE ARE RETAINING THE BEST TEACHERS The better the teacher, the greater the progress children make in school. The STARS Program was implemented at SJPIICA in 2015-16: • Provides $10,000 base salary increases for the top 20% of teachers (based on standardized testing, principal recommendation, and other measures.) • 16 out of 29 teachers remain at our Academies since the first cohort. • Average retention is 55.2% compared to 40% before STARS for participating teachers. College Loan Reduction Program implemented at both Academies: • We are one of 4% of US employers to offer this groundbreaking pilot program • $100/month is paid to participating teachers toward loan principal reduction

WE ARE CREATING A CLEAR PATH FORWARD FOR OUR STUDENTS

WHAT OUR KIDS’ PARENTS ARE SAYING Families are seeing the impact our academies are having beyond the classroom. “Switching to a private Catholic school was the best decision I’ve ever made for my four children. Being a Catholic family, we’ve seen our kids flourish in their faith at TCA, not to mention the fact that they are always challenged in their academics. They work hard but still have fun and have amazing friends. The staff is wonderful and always makes sure each child is given individual attention that will help lead to success.” – Henelris M. “I am a strong believer in ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and am so blessed to have such a supportive village at SJPIICA. My child is so very lucky to have you supporting him and cheering him on.” – Marie D. “SJPllCA provides a solid foundation filled with love, diversity and leadership. What our family appreciates most is the relationship we have built with the principal and teachers and that we will continue to build upon this as our children grow. It is a relationship of faith, knowledge and togetherness.” – Louisa L.

WHAT OUR DONORS ARE SAYING “The impressive investment in the facilities means SJPIICA is equipped to provide a modern, safe, nurturing, learning community where children can reach their full potential. It is wonderful to see this institution transformed and staffed with committed educators.” Dave and Judy Williams

“My husband and I became involved with the Campaign for Catholic Schools because we believe all children deserve the right to an excellent education, particularly in an environment where they are challenged to excel and where they develop the moral and spiritual fiber that helps form who they become as young adults.” Maureen Joyce

“As supporters of the Campaign for Catholic Schools, we have found a way to give back to our local community, while supporting our belief in Catholic education. We have toured the schools and seen firsthand the joy on the students’ faces. They are happy and cared for in a warm, loving environment.” Larry and Maura Naughton

“The Dawley family remembers the spirit of a beautiful life through the establishment of the Susan E. Dawley Endowment Fund for teacher initiatives and scholarships for students who exemplify the ideals Susan held so dear, to educate the whole child - mind, body, and soul.” Jack Dawley
