BY DR. MARK POSTLES

Every person on this planet has a philosophy - including you.The philosophy that you have relates to and includes everything in yourworld. The clothes you wear, the car you drive, the relationships you have, the business you create etc. They are all a result of your ruling philosophy.

Philosophy as a way of thinking about something. Every result that you have in your life and business has to do with your philosophy.

You craft your philosophy, whether you are conscious of the process or not. Your philosophy is an integrated view of your perception of existence. Your ideas, experiences, thoughts, words, and deeds form your model of the world. This is your philosophy and it plays out giving you what you are and have.

Your philosophy gives you your wings and empowers you to create what it is that you create.

Eleanor Roosevelt said it this way, “One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words. It’s expressing the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die, and the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”

Whether you have defined your philosophy or not it still runs you.

Herein lies the challenge.

You may have taken on a philosophy on life, people, success, the world (you name the entity) that may have been useful at some point on your life’s journey but may no longer be but because you think FROM your

philosophy and not ABOUT it you don’t question it. It keeps producing the same results that you don’t want and you feel disappointed and frustrated.

Maybe it’s time for you to revisit some of your basic notions, your values, your beliefs? Take a moment to look at your contradictions. Confess any errors in your thinking.

If you have a situation that’s not working, and you continue to do the same thing, and you continue to maintain the same philosophyyou are keeping a contradiction in place.

Where are you not accepting your divine essence? As James Ray reminded us, “Buried deep within each of us is a spark of greatness. A spark can be fanned into the flames are passion and achievement. And that spark’s not outside of you. It’s born deep within you.” Breathe it in. Be grateful for EVERYTHING (“Good” and “Bad”). Choose your words with care because they resonate through every tissues of your body and beyond.

Just for starters ask yourself, “What drives me? What is it I’m really passionate about? What makes

my heart sing? What’s my view on life? What’s my view on the world? What’s my view on people? Do I trust people? Are people inherently good or they inherently evil? “Am I OK with abundance, wealth and prosperity?” What’s my greatest gift to humanity?” What amI here for? What’s my mission? Got the idea?

Identifying your core personal and business values, creating your purpose statements, crafting a manifesto, doing morning and evening gratitude sessions are a great place to start the process of identifying your philosophy.

Go deep into this. This is so incredibly important. You are totally unique. You are here for a purpose. You have a message for the world. You have a responsibility to shine your light upon the world and grace it with your presence.

Your philosophy frames every fabric of your life. So make sure that you give it the time that it deserves.
