Get the Scoop from Sandoz A Word from Your Sec-Treas. Hello Mighty LaMissTenn District Board! I hope that all of you have had a great start to your new school years and are adjusting well. Especially now that school has begun, it is imperative that you manage your time. Be proactive on deadlines! Get things done early; that way you won’t have to turn things in at the last minute. Also, be sure to stay on top of both school and Key Club work. I know it can be tough, but trust me you can do it. Remember that individuals elected you in April because they believed in you. Do not let them down! As a District Board, we have some very exiting events ahead. Our September Board Meeting is around the corner, followed by Kickoff Rally and Rally Season. Speaking of rallies, if any of you would like me to speak/run a forum at your rally, please let me know! I would be more than happy to help you, just let me know ahead of time so that I can prepare. As always, please do not

Don’t forget! •

What: Monthly Achievement Reports are extremely vital!! They help keep track of a club’s growth and progress and show the number of member, number of hours earned, service projects, money donated, etc. Who: Monthly Achievement Reports are due to the following: § Secretary-Treasurer (Reagan) § Lieutenant Governor (You) § Sponsoring Kiwanis Club § A copy for themselves When: Monthly Achievement Reports are due the fifth of the following month; for example, the August monthly report is due September 5th. Why: It is extremely vital that clubs send in their monthly report. They help track your clubs growth and progress. They also show what projects were held, how much money was raised, and how many meetings were held. How: Monthly Achievement Reports are easy to fill out! Club secretaries just need to collect hours from members and find out the total number of hours. Then, find the average number of hours per member. Club secretaries also need to keep an accurate record of service projects that month, number of club/board meetings, amount of money raised/donated. Clubs should be the ones to send me their monthly reports either by mail or email, NOT the LTGs.

What: Lt. Governor monthly reports are very important! They show what you have done that month and help Rachel and me see what progress you are making. They also help me keep track of who needs to be reimbursed for mileage, postage, etc. Who: Lt. Governor monthly reports are due to the following: § Governor (Cameron) § Secretary-Treasurer (Reagan) § District Administrator (Mr. Glenn) § District Webmaster (Graham) When: Lt. Governor monthly reports are due the 15th of the following month; for example, the August monthly report is due on September 15th. Why: Lt. Governor monthly reports are very important! They help us see who you were in contact with for the past month. It also shows what events you attended or held such as PCMs, rally, officer trainings, club visits, etc. It basically lets us know that you are doing your job. How: Lt. Governor monthly reports are really simple! You need to keep all record of emails, phone calls, and text messages, so when it comes time to fill out your report, it makes your job a lot easier. Also remember to find what clubs you visited, Kiwanis meetings, PCMs held, and other K-family events that you attended. You should also keep track of mileage, so you can be reimbursed.

$ It is $13.00 total: -$6.50 for International -$6.50 for District $ Dues should be sent ² By October 1st: Clubs can start sending in dues to International! ² By November 1st: EARLY BIRD DEADLINE!!! ² By December 1st: DUES DEADLINE – If a club has not sent in their dues by this date, they will become a delinquent club, which is very, very BAD! $ Submit payment at the Membership Update Center online $ Key Club International will not recognize a club if it has not paid its dues. $ Each club’s faculty advisor should have received the club’s Membership Roster and Invoice by August or September. If a club has not yet received them by this date, they should call 1-800-KIWANIS and have a duplicate copy mailed to them. It is vital that all members’ names appear on this because it is the list that the International office uses to make up its official membership list.

Rally Time! As many of you all know, the Rally Board Meeting is around the corner which means that Rally Season is about to begin! Here are some things to look for at Kickoff Rally to help you with your individual rallies: ü Are the Key Clubbers happy and excited to be at rally? ü Is the event well decorated? ü Do the decorations pertain to the theme? ü Are the leaders well prepared? ü Is the day running on time? ü Are there enough signs to direct the attendees? ü Is the Key Note Speaker interesting? ü Are all of the attendees having fun?
