How Breast Implants Work
Breast implants are able to achieve their expected results by augmenting the size and enhancing the contour of the breasts. It is possible to tailor the dimensions and contours of the implants to each individual patient's specific requirements and preferences. After being placed in the breast pocket, saline implants are given a filling of the sterile saltwater solution to perform their function. The surgeon is then able to modify the volume of the implant to reach the desired size and form of the finished product.
In order for silicone implants to function properly, they come pre-filled with a silicone gel. The texture and mobility of genuine breast tissue are simulated in the gel, which ultimately results in a more lifelike appearance of the breasts. Patients frequently opt for silicone implants because it tends to have a more natural feel and appearance than other types of implants.
