Becky Coen. Tempe, AZ
Victoria Wang. Irvine, CA
I learned that making customers feel most important is essential in real estate.
ONE piece of information I wish I knew before starting in real estate would be how vast the field of real estate is. It’s much more than just buying and selling a house.
Nancy Callihan. Laguna Niguel, CA The ONE piece of information that I wish someone would have told me is, don’t stress over things. Sometimes it works out and other times it does not. Stressing about it does not do you or your clients any good.
Veronica Potter. Mission Viejo, CA I wish I would have known that I had a choice in which broker I worked with, when I think about the amount of commission I had given away prior to my time with RealtyONEGroup and how that could have affected my life, it’s crazy.
Patrick Sharples. Anaheim, CA Reinvest your commissions to acquire as much real estate as you can and pay it down as quickly as you can. Become a principal, not just an agent or broker.
Tiffany Carlson-Richison. Scottsdale, AZ I wish I knew that professional seasoned agents will take the time to meet with you and give you advice and guidance.
Linda Earlywine. Aliso Viejo, CA I wish I had known how to determine who was a real client and who was not. How to do a client counseling session to determine the motivation and ability to buy or sell. Could have saved a lot of time, energy and money. Knowing that would have given me the time to focus on building my business.
Todd J. Smith. North Scottsdale, AZ I wish I had known the difference between working with buyers versus representing sellers.
Jeff Stephan. Carlsbad, CA You need to milk every listing for everything it can get you, referrals, listing neighbors’ homes, relatives of sellers, sign calls, open houses, buyers, friends of buyers or sellers, another property the seller has to sell... Anything and everything!
Travis Flateau. Irvine, CA How Important a good mortgage lender is!
Nick Nicholson. Green Valley, NV The ONE piece of information I wish I had when I started is the value of determination and persistence. The first few years were tough. I survived, but I was near quitting at several points. I am very glad that I did not give up.
Jacque Sabella. Antioch, CA Definitely knowing that not all business is good business and learning to say no sometimes. When you are new, you are eager and sometimes desperate to get a deal so will work with anyone without truly qualifying them first.
Heather Jemison. Summerlin, NV The ONE piece of information I wish I knew when I first started in real estate was building my database DAILY and creating a plan to stay in touch on a regular basis.
Sherry Vaughn. Southwest, NV I wish I knew about all the fees and all the licensing when first starting out and how to interview for the right company to work with. RealtyONEGroup has a plan and system with free classes in place for new agents with a lot of Broker help. The others don’t.
Tina Newman. Scottsdale, AZ I wish I would have started right out the gate keeping track of “every” single contact, buyer, seller, open house lead, internet lead, person I met that gave me their business card in one database, and when possible add a photo of them to their profile to help remember who they are!
Kim Grandusky. Summerlin, NV My first job in Lihue, HI I was sent out with a stack of cards. Needless to say it was a hot and sweaty day with lots of doors shut. The business side is so important, I feel I am getting support that I never received.
Eric Ford. Glendale, AZ
Mary Tesensky. Paradise Valley, AZ My best advice is to never get your emotions involved in a transaction. This includes everyone involved from buyer, to seller, to title companies and to other agents that you are working with. Always keep it professional!
Looking back, the one piece of information I wish I was mentored about when I started in real estate would be how crucial my database was for my sphere of influence and the people I’d meet.

RA: I think the ONE challenge that we have that is actually a good thing is growth. I mean growth can be hard sometimes. We’re all going to have to buckle down and really push through because we have to do this right. With Tara and the legal team onboard I really think we have the correct teams to actually do this right, and really get through that growth and really be successful as we grow.
AM:I think the three of us here are just small little wheels in a big machine that has many functioning parts and wheels. I think what makes this system go is all the players involved, all of the agents that are involved, all the employees that really add and contribute to it.

TJ: I completely agree with you, and that’s a reason why we make office visits. Not only do I just visit California

that we address any challenges they’re having. That’s crucial for the business.
AM: ONE that I know that we do substantively that no other real estate company does like we do is ONE University. It is a university dedicated to training agents, and I haven’t seen that anywhere else. The model and the structure we have for that is by far the best. An agent can come in here, fresh, brand new, doesn’t know anything about the industry, and after going through that university process; all the interactive training, lectures, and material, and come away a different individual when it comes to the real estate practice. I think we offer that, and nobody else does. It’s a way for the agents to familiarize themselves with us as a company. We let them know off the bat, you’ve got a voice like everybody else. We’ve got people here in the corporate office; The LAB, that are dedicated to answering your phone calls. There’s a whole team of them, I walk across them every day, and they are very proud of their jobs. I think that, mixed in with ONE University, and all the resources we have, I don’t think it gets any better.

May 1st marked the 10 year anniversary of RealtyONEGroup, or as we like to call it ONE Day! To commemorate this decade of ONE we helped out at our local Boys and Girls Clubs in Nevada, Arizona, and California! The Boys and Girls Clubs of America make it their daily mission to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They provide a safe place for them to learn, grow, and foster ongoing relationships that create hope and opportunity. It was our pleasure to help out a cause that opens doors for so many in need.
