Comcast Cares Day 2013 In this issue: Saturday was a jam-packed day for volunteering, and Key Clubbers made no exceptions with effort and hard work during Comcast Cares Day. Along with other volunteers, Key Clubbers spent the day helping repaint and update Aki Kurose Middle School, and were among some of the 70,000 Comcast employees, family members, and their friends that participated in this nationwide event. “My dad works at Comcast and told me

about Comcast Cares Day,” says junior Andrea Wong, who also had some exciting news to share… To reward Key Clubbers for their effort, $50 will be donated to Garfield High School Key Club for each volunteer that attended and participated! Everyone who participated should be very proud of themselves; and a big ‘thank you’ to Andrea and Emily’s dad, who helped find this event!

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Dear Key Clubbers, You guys did an amazing job at the events last weekend—I really enjoyed seeing the photos of you all hard at work, making a difference in the lives of others. There was also a little coverage in the Wall Street Journal about Comcast Cares Day, which is pretty cool  Please remember to take pictures at events, and email or link me to them on Facebook so that they can show up in the bulletin and in the scrapbook! And remember, I’m definitely open to members suggesting and/or submitting things such as shout-outs, pictures, and written content to the bulletin. Also, keep your eyes peeled for updates regarding sweatshirts for this year and new events—exciting things are to come!
