March for Babies
On Saturday morning, Key Clubbers participated in the March for Babies walk, the largest fundraiser for the March of Dimes organization. This 3.1 mile walk in and around Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion was only one of many occurring nationwide.
In addition to participating in the walk and teardown at the March of Babies event, GHS Key Club, along with many Key Clubs across the country, have worked with the March of Dimes organization, participating in and helping out before and after fundraising events.
March of Dimes was founded in 1938 to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Since then, the movement has flourished with help from grassroots volunteers, and beginning in 1978, Key Club International.
This organization is among our many partners in service, including UNICEF, Children’s Miracle Network, and The Hershey Company. Throughout the year, Key Club will continue to bring awareness to these organizations and their causes through fundraising and volunteer efforts!
MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Dear Key Clubbers, This weekend was a busy weekend, with prom, SATs, several volunteer events, and plenty of sunshine to enjoy! We do have several upcoming events, so I hope everyone has time to squeeze in a few service learning hours during AP week—what better way to stay active and serve your community? Most of these events require some form of registration or signed paperwork, so please remember to complete the necessary steps after you sign up, and definitely before the start of the event. And remember to bring in money for sweatshirts by Friday; I hope to soon see you all in your snazzy new Key Club sweatshirts!

Eliminate Week is this week! In support of Kiwanis International’s Eliminate Project, which aims to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, we are fundraising and collecting coins in our coin jar! Even a small contribution can make a huge and lasting difference.
Tetanus is extremely painful for both the mother and the child. In fact, 1 baby dies every 9 minutes from neonatal tetanus.
