Winter Break 2013
CONTENTS Calendar & Events Eliminate Project January DCM Events Recap DCON 2014 Fundraising MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR (AND THOUGHTS ON 2013) Dear Key Clubbers, I hope you’ve been enjoying winter break and the holidays so far. Thank you to those of you who have dedicated part of their break to volunteering with Key Club, and the awesome people who made Date Night at Shirlee’s house possible! As 2013 draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for you ALL and how amazing it has been to be a part of Key Club this year. DCON 2013, Seattle Rally, Key Leader (shoutout to the KMHS people), and many, many more Key Club events have been unforgettable experiences and hold a special place in my heart. Hopefully those of you reading this will also look back on your Key Club experiences and remember how awesome this year has been! Don’t be shy, and don’t hesitate to sign up for new events and opportunities. You gain what effort you put in, so I encourage you to become involved with Key Club even more in the coming year. In Love and Service, Reanne Wong

The LtG serves as a liaison between the District Board and Division, and is in charge of planning DCMs and overseeing the clubs of Division 26. This is a position that requires a lot of time and dedication, so talk to Terri or Henry (who ran for LtG last year) for more information. Preliminary elections will be held on the meeting before the final election, which is the January 18th DCM at the Southwest Library in West Seattle.
65th Annual PNW District Convention
in Service Each year, the Pacific Northwest District gets together to celebrate the year of service, elect the new executive district board, meet other Key Clubbers in the area, and learn about new service opportunities at District Convention (DCON). This is an amazing opportunity to become more involved with Key Club, and is one of the most FUN events of the Key Club year! To attend, you must be a registered member in good standing. New members are required to have performed 30 hours of community service with Garfield Key Club; returning members are to have 60.

Fundraising Returning from winter break, we will be continuing our peppermint bark fundraiser until we sell out ($1 for 2”x 3” pieces and $1.50 for 3”x 3” pieces). And as always, if you would like to help sell peppermint bark, let an officer know! The $1 Krispy Kreme fundraiser will also be continuing. Find an officer during class or passing period—there are several officers in Ms. Brierley’s room 2nd period and in the break following it. Proceeds go towards The Eliminate Project and District Convention!
