Creative Brief Project Description: Hardcore music magazine website and complimentary quarterly digital/print publication
Background / Overview: Currently there is no central location on the invternet that educates about the electronic dance music (EDM) subgenre hardcore (happy hardcore, uk hardcore, etc.). There is a global market for hardcore music yet there is no platform that makes it easy for everyone in the existing community to connect with each other and help grow hardcore’s presence in the EDM industry. There is no convenient way for new artists to be discovered or market themselves. In order for fans and artists to keep up-to-date on what’s going on in the community they must follow several different pages on various different sites and social media channels. Hardcore will thrive in places other than the UK when more hardcore artists who are serious about pursuing their career arise in those countries. It’s inconvenient to consistently fly in artists from the UK to other countries as headliners for events. “The website is a long over due central location that educates on and promotes hardcore music. It’s time for hardcore to thrive in all parts, not just the UK.”
Objective: Create an online platform where hardcore fans, DJs / producers, and new audiences can: • Become more educated about hardcore music • Discuss / comment on hardcore music relative topics • Discover new music and new artists • Keep up-to-date on what is currently going on in the industry with news, trends, advice and more
Target Audience: Millennials who listen to EDM
