The MM 1090 was specially developed for contractors, very big farm producers or alfalfa drying industrials. With the MM 1090, it is possible to work at very different headlands with the guarantee of high work output and high quality forage harvesting. Nothing is more effective than having homogenous, regular windrows. The specific designs of the pick-up and windguard-with-roller produce regular forage pick-up and transfer to the conveyor belt ; prerequisites to perfect windrow formation. Chopper and baler drivers will appreciate it. The forage is lifted by pick-ups and then deposited gently for less loss by crumbling leaves and potentially less impurities and stones in the forage. A regular, homogenous windrow prevents jolting during harvesting and can increase working speeds by up to 2 to 3 km/h. For alfalfa harvesting, gentle pickup means that leaves remain on their stems. Protein content and nutritional value in the forage is thereby preserved. The same applies for harvesting cover crops at the end of autumn: forage is lifted, uncontaminated by wet, sticky soil. With the MM 1090, you no longer have to choose between a central or side-delivery rake. This rake is capable of adapting to forage volumes and to harvesting methods thanks to its many delivery possibilities : • Central delivery with variable width, • Side delivery with a view to grouping different working widths together, • Central and side delivery simultaneously for very high forage volumes and to suit harvesting methods. It is practical because the configuration of the machine can be modified easily with the hydraulic control valves and so work output is improved. HARVESTLAB 3000 ONE SENSOR, THREE APPLICATIONS HarvestLab 3000 sensor uses near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to analyse various constituents within harvested crops, silage or slurry. The sensor can process a 12% wider wavelength spectrum for additional accuracy and provides more than 4,000 measurement points per second. It’s statistically solid data on-the-go. All data is displayed and sitespecifically documented in real time. This allows operators to adjust settings and enables automated machine optimisation while still in the field.
USE MANURE AS IF IT WAS MINERAL FERTILISER Manure is a nutrient-rich organic fertiliser. With John Deere Manure Sensing you have the unique advantage of being able to apply N,P,K precisely based on a nutrient target and limit rate in kg/ha and even utilise site-specific prescription maps. John Deere Manure Sensing can analyse constituents not only during filling but also during application, the second before the nutrients hit the soil. John Deere Manure Sensing data can be wirelessly sent to the John Deere Operations Centre for further processing. The map on the left shows nitrogen has been applied to the target level. The simultaneously recorded map on the right shows how nitrogen was applied evenly by continuously adjusting the applied volume.

CONNECTED SUPPORT Connected Support makes customer service much easier and quicker. The Proactive Response System, which provides RVT with information and warnings about machine health and the Remote Support Systems give RVT access to the individual machine’s in-cab display.
Proactive Response System Expert Alerts: Predicts possible requirement for repairs, as well as technical and performance-related issues on the machine before they actually occur. Based on historical and anonymised machine data as well as algorithms for error detection and machine optimisation, the system automatically analyses the data and sends warnings to RVT. These messages also recommend potential solutions. Machine Dashboard: The data and status of connected machines appear on the dealer’s computer dashboard. The customer’s machine list is displayed on the screen, which is constantly monitored by the RVT team. The most serious faults highlighted by the Expert Alerts system are always at the top of the list.
Remote Support Systems Remote Display Access: This system gives immediate support by connecting to your in-cab display. Once connected, we can assist with set-ups, troubleshoot and optimise the performance of your machine. Not only does this save customers time and money, they also benefit from perfect machine settings while maintaining complete social distancing.

Service Advisor Remote – SAR: If service tools indicate that something is wrong with the machine, the dealer specialist can also remotely access the machine’s diagnostic system. Very often faults can be rectified directly using this service, while the necessary online software updates can also be made. In addition, Service ADVISOR Remote delivers increased machine uptime. Should an on-site repair be necessary, the service technician can plan a visit to the customer as a one-stop service with no need for any extra trips. The technician takes all the necessary parts and tools for the planned repair in a single visit, thus greatly reducing downtime and costs. Maintenance alert service: If a notification for maintenance occurs, the RVT team can pro-actively contact the customer to schedule machine maintenance.

John Deere M740i
SPRAYER UPGRADES Dave Sketchley took delivery of our ex demo M740i trailed sprayer last year, which replaced his self propelled Househam air ride machine. The reason Mr Sketchley chose a trailed machine was partly down to the John Deere 6250R Command Pro. Mr Sketchley wanted to utilise the comfort of his tractor combined with the sprayer, especially with the sprayer having ISOBUS for full integration with the Gen 4 Command Centre. “Section control and auto boom height is a big new feature to me, as the Househam didn’t have either of these features. Having 50kph for road speed was also a big factor in making the decision to change because we farm ground fairly far away so getting from field to farm is a big issue. With RVT RTK, the section control works really well in turning off and on when it needs to and utilising the 8 sections across the 24m boom. Autofill also lets me concentrate on filling chemical into the machine and not worrying about putting too much water in the tank. I just pre set how much I want in and set to fill.” Commented Mr Sketchley. RVT Precision support Mr Sketchley with this machine, including diagnosis of technical faults, and they are able to log onto the monitor giving the facility to correct problems remotely. As
spraying is such a crucial operation in any modern day farming operation, downtime always wants to be kept to a minimum. With all RVT depots now stocking more sprayer spare parts this also helps lower downtime. “With the Precision Farming team at the end of the phone, back up and support is never far away if I need it, whether it’s to do with the combine, sprayer or the tractor. Now we are using section control we have noticed a significant saving in chemical used with no over applying anymore, which is great!”

Hardi Navigator sprayer upgrade RVT Precision upgraded James Burton’s Hardi Navigator sprayer from 4 sections up to 6, and also re-configured the boom section lay outs. The system was also upgraded to ISO Liquid, to utilise narrower end sections, along with section control, full documentation through the tractors Gen 4 4600 screen whilst using RVT RTK for optimum precision. An extended monitor was also installed for James to view his mapping at the same time as his sprayer rate controller. A switch box was added in the cab of the tractor enabling James to manually switch sections on/off when desired and so that the original control box’s could be removed from the cab reducing clutter.

ISO liquid Bateman upgrade Zak Stanier operates a Bateman RB25 and wanted us to upgrade his machine to ISO liquid after he had extra sections added to his machine. We fitted this system to his machine to run through a John Deere 4240 display for full section control and documentation. This 4240 display replaced his existing LH Agro display. Zak also wanted an ISOBUS joystick to replace his existing one which enabled him to turn sections on/off all at his finger tips, along with his master switch. With full RVT RTK running on this sprayer, he is making full use of adding extra sections, which are now 2m each.

In December 2020 we said a very sad farewell to Guy Blackshaw after over 18 years with RVT. Guy started his RVT career as a service technician at Newport where he became highly recognised as a combine expert. He then transferred over to the Precision Farming team and we very reluctantly said goodbye and a very big good luck as he starts his own engineering business. Thank you for all your hard work over the years Guy!
