Lets Jointly Find the KEY to Success in the SEA Market RechargExpo Thailand 2014 Report! After many months of hard, persistent work and a one-month push back because of the difficult political situation in Thailand, we finally held our latest event between August 28-30, 2014 in Bangkok on a positive note. We were able to engage roughly the same extent of foot traffic this year as we did last year, but with more new faces appearing both as exhibitors and as visitors, including a few more local Thailand companies. The country's now calmed down political climate has returned it its name as the "land of smile" and encouraged people to feel safe to travel and conduct business.

We Have Reached Out to Many Printing Professionals in the SEA Region: Dedicated promotional efforts via multiple media channels were made to encourage greater involvement in the RechargExpo at both local and global levels. These included, though were not limited to, industry trade events, print media, social medial channels, email, and regional IT malls. There are always remote corners that are far to reach, however, we did our best to promote our event, using both traditional and digital media outlets. The statistics we received have shown we successfully reached out to many more new visitors compared to last year. At the same time, however, overseas visitor numbers, from outside of Thailand, dropped, and we concluded this decrease was due to the political upheavals in the country earlier in the year. As a whole, we are greatly encouraged by the new demographic composition of the crowds, and by the success of our new initiatives in 3D printing. The owner of Aicon said "I hold a great appreciation for RechargeAsia's effort to bring us to the emerging markets to grow our business. I have to gladly report this expo has given me the opportunity to engage with one of the largest distributors in the SEA market. One of our speakers, a well known Washington-based IP attorney, John Hornick, mentioned in his speech that one client back then asked him about copyright on internet, and he had to search what is "internet". Now, we all are living in it. We foresee the same rate of growth and deeply penetrating impacts from 3D printing, in spite of the current technical obstacles we face and the challenge that is the markets' readiness.

The Fun Networking - Gala Dinner and the Unique Performance: People come to event to meet clients, old and new, to connect and reconnect, and to discuss business and negotiate new terms. Toward the end of the day, clients and providers become friends and trust is being built or reinforced. “HP Instant Ink” – Has the future arrived? By Antonio Sánchez Navarro The printing industry is expectant to see what the results of the HP Instant Ink program are. This program is quite unique compared to what the OEMs have done up until now. HP has implemented in this program what most other players wanted to do but never had the courage. Let’s take a deep look into what the offer from HP means.

apparently because the program is limited to two models, and let’s be honest, this limitation is not the result of a marketing strategy. It is certainly in the mind of HP to expand this offer upwards in the market to the large and corporate segments. But to do so HP first must remove the limits, and open the offer to all or most of its models.

HP Instant Ink lets the customer pay a flat fee with a cap on the number of pages printed per month. Nevertheless the customer can exceed the number of pages printed. A step payment does then apply. The program offers packages starting with volume as low as 400 pages per month and is currently limited to only two models.

Breaking into smaller pieces: auto-fulfillment + risk management + attractiveness. An analysis of the components of this program reveals the following ingredients: • Attractive offer that solves, in a smart way, the customers fear regarding the cost of printing. The customer pays for what he prints. His costs are known from day one, and they include everything: the printer, the ink, the service, the monitoring and the delivery of cartridges. • Risk management: there are 2 risks around this offer: • “free-bar” symptom: when a customer that does not perceive the cost associated to printing his tendency is to print with no auto-control. HP Instant Ink neutralizes this risk stablishing some caps to the volume of pages that can be printed per level of payment. • The risk of the excess of delivery of cartridges: 80% of the cost of the program is the ink. The more ink HP ships, the less profit it gets or the more money it loses. Therefore HP has to be certain that it only ships cartridges to the customer when they are needed, and that there are no duplicate deliveries. This is an absolute synch with the MPS compliance of the printer (see Nubeprint Report for MPS Compliant to know more) LINK. The offer is limited to only a those few models that rate high in MPS compliant. At the same time HP has manufactured super high yield cartridges specific to this program. HP then reduces the number of shipments and therefore its costs. • Automatic order fulfillment: a small ticket program like this can become a huge problem if it ends up to be successful, due to the amount of small tasks that need to be performed and which cost has to be covered with monthly rents of 2 digits. Therefore the whole recurrent process of billing pages, triggering the need of a cartridge, processing the order and delivering it has to be fully automated. Should human intervention be required, the profit would be cleared. The MPS compliance of the printer influences the capacity to auto-fulfill it. This is certainly the reason why HP Instant Ink is limited to two printer models.

Limitations: only for a few concrete printer models. HP has apparently found a way to combine all the ingredients to manage this program and make a substantial profit. I say

Is HP Instant Ink an MPS killer offer? Well, this is what Rich Heckelmann (HP) asks himself in a discussion published. It may perfectly be the first step to something larger than just an offer. This offer is the key to a long term contract with the endcustomer, which is exactly what any company dreams of. What would happen to the IT printing market if this program was available for any printer or copier in the market? Very simply, the individual sale of cartridges would drop down to a residual level. Instead, customers would buy page contracts: print as much as you need and pay a flat fee.

HP is not alone in the market. But HP is not alone in the market. One of the largest MSPs with operations in Spain, Portugal and LatAm, Iecisa, has its own multivendor and multi model program. The GIO program has versions for all segments, from the SMB to corporate, from one single unit contract, to tens of thousands of printers or copiers. For a flat monthly fee the customer can select from a variety of printer and copier models and manufacturers. Once again the replacement of supplies is automatically and proactively managed hassle free for the customer. What makes this program quite unique is that the customer can incorporate his existing printers to the contract, taking advantage of the automated replacement that is powered with Nubeprint yield management MPS technology. There are more examples of this, but we shall see many more coming in and joining Iecisa and HP in the next 12 months. As a consequence, the printing distribution channel will change dramatically in the coming 5 years. If you don’t have plans for an MPS offer with auto/fulfilment in your company, you better start making them. And if you do, time has come to execute. Nubeprint is the only technology that guaranties auto-fulfilment operations free of false alerts and waste, fully vendor agnostic both for printers and cartridges.

Products Violating Patent US 6,264,301 Banned Again by 337 GEO Recently, American Customs and Border Protection (CBP) denied entry into the United States of some replacement inkjet cartridges for HP printers. It was reported that these supplies were banned according to a general exclusion order (GEO) awarded to HP by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) back in investigation 337-TA-691 in 2009. This GEO forbids the import of all supplies violating HP patents US6,089,687 and 6,264,301, namely the Ink Gauge patent and the Data Decoding patent, respectively. These two patents cover two core HP chips technologies, which are utilized in HP cartridges including HP 564/364/178/ 862 /940/920/950/932/970/960/711/980, etc. It has not been long since Apex Microelectronics reminded the industry of the risk in ignoring the 6,264,301 patent and even bypassing the 6,089,687 patent. The consequence of the aftermarket’s long-time neglecting is a high infringement risk in many replacement cartridges for HP. The recent incident sounded another alarm to the aftermarket that GEO could happen at any time; that the risks of cartridge being forfeited, of fine and accusation from HP always exist for those whose cartridges violate HP patents. In addition, just a few weeks earlier the CBP also turned back a number of cartridges infringing Epson and Canon patents. It is obvious that custom has developed a stronger sense of awareness on printer supply aftermarket products, and needless to mention the OEMs’ growing protection on their intellectual property rights. For players in the aftermarket, valuing patents is the premise of success in worldwide markets. Ricoh India Falls in the Red in Q1 2014 Ricoh India reported disappointing financial results for its first quarter to the end of June, with a net loss of INR 15.29 crore, from a positive net result of INR 3.18 crore a year earlier. Net revenues stood at INR 226.3 crore, from INR 171.1 crore in April-June 2013. The company’s stock reacted to the news by dropping 10% to INR 175.50 in Bombay, reversing a trend of a steady increase.

Inkjet Makers Increasingly Challenge Laser, Multifunctional Machines Multifunctional printers were all the rage until recently, with prices as low as $250. This, however, was offset, and sometimes even exceeded by maintenance expenses. Now, there is a new player in the field, or rather, a returning one -- inkjets. There are three market leaders in the inkjet niche currently: HP, Epson, and Memjet. For HP, inkjets are a way to shift focus from laser printers as it has to share all benefits from its laser printer sales with Canon. Epson, for its part, has suffered a serious blow on the photo printing market, which is on a steep slide. Finally, Memjet is the ambitious newcomer in the club, and one way to prove its worth is to grab as big a bite out of the inkjet market as it can. Canon is the currently undisputed market leader in terms of revenues. HP is far behind in the second place and inkjets are its best chance to get a bit closer to the Japanese mammoth. It can eve challenge its top position with its Officejet Pro X and the Officejet Enterprise multifunctionals, if it speeds up their adoption in offices. Memjet is focusing on managed print services with a significant disruption potential for the printing market. Combined with Epson’s two new product lines, the WorkForce Pro 5000 series and the WorkForce Pro RIPS (Replaceable Ink Pack System), these three companies have the capacity to cardinally change the face of the industry in the near future. To conclude, here are the main advantages of inkjets that could overturn the laser-dominated status quo. First, they are notably cheaper. Second, they require less maintenance. Third, subscription services are making the life of office assistants much easier, increasing the appeal of inkjets. Fourth, they are widely used in MPS, offering attractive cost savings for customers. In short, it’s very likely that the future belongs to inkjet printers.

Supreme Court Clarifies False Advertising Lawsuit Rules A lawsuit brought by printing giant Lexmark against Static Control Components has been taken to the Supreme Court, which has now come with a decision clarifying the circumstances in which the Lanham Act can be invoked. The Act concerns false advertising. In the legal proceedings started by Lexmark, the printing company accused Static Control of violating a copyright concerning a microchip that the company puts in its printer cartridges in order to protect its products from being refilled by another company. Static Control, for its part, started making imitative chips in order to allow remanufacturers to resell Lexmark-compatible cartridges. Static Control ran a counter claim against Lexmark at the time, in 2002, saying that Lexmark had violated the Lanham Act by effectively calling into question the legality of remanufactured cartridges, ultimately harming remanufacturers in the eyes of customers. The Supreme Court ruled that in cases concerning alleged false advertising, the plaintiff must be able to prove that the defender has indeed injured a party’s commercial interest with regard to sales or reputation through misrepresentation.

Apex Cartridge Chips Avoid Infringing the '687 and the '301 Patents While many in the industry are unaware of it, Hewlett-Packard recently obtained a general exclusion order issued by the international Trade Commission in case number 337 – TA – 691. That general exclusion order prohibits the importation into the United States of products which infringe two Hewlett-Packard patents. Those patents are 6, 089, 687 ( '687) and 6, 264, 301(' 301). The '687 patents is generally referred to as the ink gauge patent, and the '301 patent is generally referred to as the identification or data decoding patent. Certain importers of chips into the United States have literally copied HewlettPackard chips which incorporate the circuitry described in the above patents. Those literal copies are infringing chips, and certain companies have had their chips seized as a result of the general exclusion order. There is great concern that companies who purchase chips or products with embedded chips which violate the patents, and/or the exclusion order, may themselves be guilty of patent infringement. Companies guilty of patent infringement may be subject to damages, including the possibility of treble damages, costs and attorney fees. Apex has designed cartridge chips which it's engineers believe specifically avoid infringing these two patents and are therefore, in the opinion of the Apex designers, products which are not subject to the general exclusion order. Based on the representations made to our law firm, the Eclipse Group, Mr. Greg Gulliver, a lawyer who is an expert in computer technology, who has a degree in computer science in addition to his law degree, and who specializes in writing patent applications in computer technology, has concluded that the Apex cartridge chips avoid infringing the '687 and the '301 patents. His decision is based primarily on the fact that, according to the Apex design engineers, the Apex designs eliminate certain key patent claim limitations. In order for a product to infringe claims of a patent, that product must contain each and every listed claim limitation set forth in the patent claim. Products which are designed with the elimination of at least one of the claim elements do not infringe, neither directly, nor under the doctrine of equivalents. Because of Mr Gulliver's international reputation as an expert, his opinion is of great importance. By designing chips which avoid the two patents, and their corresponding general exclusion order, Apex has opened the door for this industry to purchase and use Apex chips. This should be of major value to this industry.

Canon Files Suit for Enforcement of Patent Rights TOKYO, August 21, 2014—Canon has filed a suit for enforcement of its Russian Federation patent 2467370, which relates to toner cartridges (the "Patent"). The suit has been filed with the Moscow City Economic Court against the defendant X-Com Shop Ltd., a distributing company. Canon believes that certain models of cartridges sold on the Russian market under trademarks "CACTUS" and "G&G" by this distributor infringe the Patent. The purpose of the claim is to stop infringement and to collect damages for patent infringement in accordance with Russian law. Throughout the development, sales and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals and expects others to do the same. Canon remains committed to taking legal action against anyone who does not respect Canon's intellectual property rights.

Last year, for instance, the survey revealed an interesting trend among endusers: those who already had a 3D printer were more willing to buy a more expensive one in the future, while those who planned the purchase of their first 3D printer had more demands but did not want to spend a lot of money.

Lorain County Community College has been granted $2.5 million by the state government, plus another $2.5 million from a private donation, to expand its Nord Advanced Technologies Center. The money will go towards adding more capacities for the college’s Advanced Digital Manufacturing Program, which trains students in robotics, computer numerical control machining, and network communications. The college already has one 3D printer but will now be able to expand the production area for additive manufacturing, the LCCC’s vice president of strategic and institutional development Tracy Green said.

A startup set up by a former HP Elite partner, Grant Sadowski, is drawing on his expertise in 2D printing, focusing on making the new tech more affordable. Becoming 3D offers 3D printing services for households and enterprises, regardless of their size. These also include training in 3D printing, support from start to finish and financial and software consultation.

After an acquisition spree, 3D Systems is continuing its ambitious growth strategy with capacity expansion. The company recently announced it will open one 500,000 sq ft plant for the production and distribution of 3D printing systems, and another, 30,500 sq ft, facility for filament and filament cartridge production. The first plant will be located in North Carolina, and the second in Ohio.

Sadowski’s founding partner, Matt Craine has also brought valuable expertise to the company, drawing on two decades of experience in developing innovative software applications for the world’s biggest companies.

Shapeways Develops New Full-Color Plastic Shapeways has announced it has developed a whole new plastic material featuring the full color range of 3D Systems ProJet printing. Current 3D printer filaments can only combine three or at most four different colors. For now, the company has released the material to a limited group of designers to let them experiment with it and tests its characteristics. It will be officially released on the market following the results from the testing stage and final approval from Shapeways. The company said the resolution of the new material resembles that of its Full Color Sandstone palette but unlike it, the plastic will be able to print movable elements.

UK Startup Set to Launch First Cheap SLS 3D Printer UK company Norge Systems has started a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter in order to be able to start the production of the first two cheap 3D printers using the selective laser sintering technology. The tech was patented by Carl Decker from the University of Texas but the patent expired this year. So far printers based on the SLS tech cost six-figure sums, but expectations are that, as it happened with other 3D tech after the expiry of their patents, prices will plummet very soon. Norge Systems’ two projects, Ice1 and Ice9, are, respectively, a small and a large SLS printer, with the large one set to cost around $34,000, VAT exclusive, and the small one is seen to cost $13,000, VAT exclusive. The Ice9 uses 40W tube laser to print items with a maximum size of 30 x 30 x 45 cm, at speeds reaching 30mm per hour. The smaller machine, Ice1, will use a 10W solid state laser that can print objects with sizes of up to 20 x 20 x 25 cm.

Stratasys Books 67% Jump in Revenues Q2 3D printing major Stratasys reported revenues of $178.5 million for the second quarter of the year, up 67%, exceeding analyst expectations, which averaged $156.6 million. Organic revenues were also significantly higher than expected, and by the company itself: these stood at 35%, against a projected minimum of 25%. Earnings per share on a non-GAAP basis rose 22% to $0.55 apiece, beating analyst expectations for $0.45. GAAP EPS, however, were zero, still better than the loss of $0.07 booked for the second quarter of 2013. Stratasys’ stock surged 20% following the release of the financial report. In a conference call, chief executive David Reis said that the company was benefiting from rising demand for manufacturing applications, which drove improved sales of the company’s Fortus systems. Another driver for the performance were the higher sales of Stratasys’ Objet500 Connex3 Color Multi-material 3D Printer, the world’s first that can print in a variety of colors and materials. The company increased its guidance for full-year performance, now expecting revenues of between $750-$770 million, and non-GAAP EPS of $2.25 to $2.35. Stratasys will also continue to sacrifice its short-term profits in favor of acquisitions and higher marketing expenses in order to secure long-term growth.

Xerox Analyst Outlines Eight Major Trends in Multifunctionals Market

Canon, Epson Among Best LowPrice Multifunctionals Multifunctional devices that combine printing, faxing and a range of other capabilities are becoming increasingly popular, especially as prices are steadily going down. Max Levitte, chief executive of website Cheapism. com, lists the four best ones with a price tag of under $80.

Although the market for multifunctional devices has been in decline in the last couple of years, all points to the fact that the segment is far from exhausted, according to Siddhartha Bhattacharya, who is the global marketing manager for office products, solutions and competition at printing major Xerox. Firstly, the printers and multifunctionals market is mature and is expected by InfoTrends to grow at a compound annual rate of 2.6% until 2018, with the lower end of office supplies at an especially beneficial position. At the same time, single-use device sales will continue dropping, with consumers aware of all the benefits of multifunctionals and the growing digitalization trends globally. A perhaps surprising outtake from the printer market analysis is that although color devices are favored, the majority of shipments is still in the black-and-white segment, and will continue to be so until 2018, to the tune of 70% of all shipments. In addition, A4 machines are being steadily preferred by users, as they cost less but have a range of capabilities that make them attractive. As regards multifunctionals particularly, m a nufacturers need t o f oc us m ore on improving their non-printing features, as these are their main attraction. Higher scanning speeds, for instance, would further improve their appeal. Another priority in an increasingly digital environment is adoption cloud solutions and apps. Though this is challenging at this point, it is nevertheless essential. Furthermore, there is an increased focus on mobile services, and this includes mobile printing. Bring-your-own-device is a booming trend, and printing is one of the things that will make the growing number of mobile workers more efficient. Finally, managed print services are evolving, and the next stage in their evolution is the emergence of managed workflow services, encompassing all printing activities within an enterprise.

First on his list is Canon’s PixmaMG6320. The device’s price starts from $70, and it features six inkwells, automatic duplexing, and s 3.5-inch touchscreen. You can print directly from a camera memory card or scan data to a card. Second comes Epson WF-2540, which carries a starting price tag of $75, and boasts long-term saving capabilities through its four inkwells, as well as enhanced convenience with its 30-page automatic feeder, along with the already standard faxing, copying and scanning capabilities. The third entry on the list is Brother MFC-J450DW, starting from $80. The device uses four ink cartridges and, in addition to an automatic feeder and automatic duplexing, has the major advantage of being very fast. According to Brother, the device can print as many as 33 pages per minute in black and white. Last is another Canon product – the Pixma MG5420. Prices start from $79 and what makes this device stand out is the capability of printing directly on CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays. It has five inkwells and guarantees high print quality, according to consumer reviews.

Epson Marks 50th Anniversary of Miniaturized Printing Japanese printing industry giant Epson recently celebrated five decades in miniaturized printing, which it introduced in 1964 during the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The company’s timer was a game-changer for Olympics recording. A quarter of a century later, Epson did the same for the projector market, with the launch of the 3LCD technology. The tech revolutionized projectors, providing worldwide audiences with crisp, accurate images. These are just two of the inventions that have helped cement Epson’s position among the world’s greatest innovative companies. It was included in Thomson Reuters’ 100 Global Innovator Awards last year, a prize the company will add to several awards from the European Imaging and Sound Association, a few from the Technical Image Press Association, as well as acknowledgments in the IEEE Corporate Innovation Award, and the latest, BLI Pick of the Year 2014 for its WorkForce DS-860 scanner.

Fuji Shifts to Services One of the biggest print companies in the world recently announced it is starting to diversify into communication management services, planning to establish a footprint across Asia, from a base in Singapore. Among the services Fuji will offer will be billing and sending statements to customers, marketing activities, and other sorts of communication between businesses and clients, across all channels, digital and non-digital. Fuji expects this diversification to spur doubledigit revenue growth over the next couple of years, according to chief executive Bert Wong. Currently, 60% of Fuji’s revenues come from sales of devices, and the remainder comes from software and document-related solutions.

Lexmark Continues ReadSoft Acquisition Us print major Lexmark has bought a further batch of Swedish ReadSoft stock as part of its ongoing acquisition of the company. The latest purchase was of 1,086,017 B class shares, bringing its total interest to 3,863,734 to date. This gives it 9.32% of the voting rights, or 12.6% of the total stock. Lexmark has improved its overall offer several times so far, starting with $182 million, going on to $194 million, $224 million, and, the latest, $248 million. The company has a rival in this race, however, another US firm, Hyland. Still, the Swedish company’s founders have pledged to sell their stakes to Lexmark. These make up a combined 35.5% of the stock, representing more than 50% of voting rights. The acquisition is part of the US major’s strategy for expanding its global information management footprint.

Epson Works Hard to Stay Ahead of Competition Epson has a long and successful tradition in research and development that has helped it earn its current top position in the printing technology industry. But the Japanese company is far from slacking -- it recently applied for patents both in its traditional sphere of expertise, printing, and in the area of smart wearables and robotics. A couple of the patent applications are about inkjet printing technology, including one for preventing heat-cause damage from causing harm to the printing process. Another patent application concerns a new ink set specifically designed for black inks with a view to minimizing yellow discoloration in the printed image. In the field of wearable technology and robotics, Epson has developed a head-mounted device similar to Google glasses, and a suction-type robot, which is capable of holding onto a load safely even if there is external force interfering with it. Among the latest patent issued to Epson are a technology aimed to deal with short circuits occurring in ink and toner cartridges, a system that allows the machine to spot if an error is simple and fixable, or it is fatal and it needs to shut down. Another patent recently granted to Epson is for a display function that makes possible the preview of the material to be printed with cutting-edge accuracy, even of the minutest details. Epson also won a patent in the field of robotics recently, for a robotic hand aimed at improving the per formance of manufacturing robots, improving their ability to grasp smaller objects without damaging them in the process.

Remanufacturing the Samsung SCX-6555 Drum Cartridge By Mike Josiah, Technical Director of UniNet Imaging

Mike Josiah Mike Josiah is the Technical Director at UniNet’s East Coast office, a global distributor of toner, Smartchips, OPC drums, and other toner remanufacturing components. Mr. Josiah is an industry veteran since 1987, and a member of ASTM committee F.05, the STMC Technician Certification committee, as well as an STMC trainer. He and his support team at UniNet contribute with technical articles to industry trade magazines, and conduct seminars at association meetings and tradeshows worldwide.

First released in June 2008, the Samsung SCX-6555 series of printers are based on a 55ppm, 600dpi MFP engine (1200 x 1200 Enhanced). The first page out is rated at under 8 seconds. These MFP machines print, copy, scan and fax. They come with 256Mb/512Mb of memory and have an 80GB hard drive installed. The user interface is a high resolution TFT LCD color touch screen. It’s a 7” screen with a resolution of 800 x 480. For speed and accuracy the laser unit is somewhat unique in that it has a four beam laser scanning unit. I could not find any information from Samsung on this system, but my guess is it allows a much faster print. Figure A shows the positioning of all the main cartridge and printer parts in the machine

ISC Conference Held in Las Vegas

HP Releases Envy and Officejet Series New Printers

惠普发布 Envy 和 Officejet 系列打印机新品

赛迪网讯】为满足客户不同的需求而带来了低成本的选 择,惠普发布了面向家用和商用市场的四款多功能一体打印机 新品,它们分别是 Envy 7640、Envy 5640、Envy 5660、以及 Officejet 5740。 其中 Envy 7640 是四款新品中个头最大的一个,该机配 备了 125 页的进纸盒,而输出纸盒的容量则为 25 页。此外, 该机还配备了自动输稿器,最高支持连续输入 25 张纸,以及 自 动 双 面 打 印。 可 带 来 14ppm 和 9ppm 的 黑 白 / 彩 色 打 印 速度。默认黑白复印精度为 300x300dpi,彩色复印精度则是 600x600dpi。

最后要介绍的,是面向商用市场的 Officejet 5740 一体机, 支持 8ppm 和 12ppm 的黑白 / 彩色打印机,扫描与复印分辨率 亦与 Envy 系列保持一致 ( 平板大小也一样 )。该打印机配备了 25 页的自动输稿器,没有了 Envy 7640 身上的大尺寸电容式触 控屏,但却提供了 4 个 USB 2.0 端口。

作为一款多功能一体机,Envy 7640 还提供了一个 8.5x11.7 英寸的平板式扫描仪,硬件分辨率 1200x1200dpi,扫描速度 亦快至 15 秒。 至于两款较小的新款家用级多功能一体机——Envy 5640 和 Envy 5660——其提供了许多相同的功能,分辨率和打印速 度均与 Envy 7640 相同,只是去掉了自动输稿器。而且上述两 款机型也配备了两个进纸盒,其中主盒用于存放普通纸,而第 二进纸盒则用户存放照片打印纸。此外,三款 Envy 系列一体 机均支持 Wi-Fi 和远程打印。 打印速度方面,Envy 5640 比 5660 要稍慢一些,最高为 12ppm。
