The Meriden-New BritainBerlin YMCA’s third annual Night of Stars fundraising event will be held Friday, June 16. This year, the Y is pleased to honor our star of the night, Kevin Curry, owner of Teddy’s Stores, a regional chain of 19 convenience stores.

Curry’s involvement with numerous nonprofit organizations has significantly impacted the lives of our community members.

“Kevin’s passion for improving our community never stops. He has worked with so many organizations, including our own, to make a lasting difference in people’s lives,” said John Benigni, CEO of the Meriden-New BritainBerlin YMCA. “Please join us to honor him and help our Y serve our community mission.”

The Night of Stars charity event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the YMCA Mountain Mist Outdoor Center, 576 High Hill Road, Meriden. Attendees must be at least 21. The event will include an open bar with signature drinks, auction items, tastings, and more. Tickets are $50 ($90 for a pair).

The budget referendum results from May 23 are in. Berlin voters found that the town budget was too high and the Board of Education budget was too low. This result threw the budget back to the Board of Finance for further tweaking, and on May 25, the BOF met to modify the budget.
