A local brewery recently collaborated with an international advocacy group that offers support to women interested in learning and practicing the art of brewing beer.

Cheshire Craft Brewery, 125 Commerce Court, contacted the Pink Boots Society regarding the organization’s Collaboration Brew Day and subsequently put together a team to participate.
‘Girls on the Run’ season kicks off By Joy VanderLek The Cheshire Citizen
The “Girls on the Run” program has returned to Cheshire with local teams from Doolittle and Chapman elementary schools preparing for the 2022 season and celebrating with an official kick-off held March 7. “We are thrilled to be back,” said Jessica Bell, Girls on the Run executive director, commenting on the program’s return post-COVID. Since its founding in 1996, more than 200,000 girls age 8 to 13 in Canada and the U.S. have participated in Girls on the Run programs. In Con-
necticut, GOTR is based in Hartford with “teams” located throughout Hartford and New Haven counties. The program is designed to empower young girls by teaching them necessary social skills to boost confidence while creating awareness of their own self-worth and ability to make positive changes in the world. The concept is to use a combination of physical activity and positivity to accomplish the goal. Two Girls on the Run programs are offered. One, for girls in grades 3 to 5, is a
